As a player of this game, for over a decade, I must say, this is truly unfair towards the players of OSRS. Rares are needed, in almost any game, in order to make the economy more interesting, and give people something to strive for, once they've maxed everything out, and have gold to spend. Also, why is Jagex still calling them "rares", They aren't rares, if they are going to continue to be released every year.
At the end of the day, we were the people that helped to bring these servers back online, and we should be the ones to collect these items, and make them rare, once again, by only giving them out once.
I fail to see the logic here, it just seems like another way to make this game less significant than rs3. They could easily just release these items once, during each holiday, and then stop. Every single player in the game would have these items, and they would start to become rare over time.
Either way, it's not about making money with rares, it's about striving for items that you can't obtain, unless you play the game. There should really be a vote on whether they should only be released once, or not.
