Dying and losing 7 lvls in all your stats is their to balance it. When your team takes down someone of high level, he'll lose a lot more xp which means it will take a lot longer for him to get high level in something again.
That's why your team needs to strategize.


Not everyone will have teams. Not every team will be able to always play together. This, is an extremely broken factor in this mode. Creating something that is almost exclusively dependent on other players/team is terrible. Think about the reactions people had when Dungeoneering was first coming out. Because of this simple factor, this game mode will fail.

All of your arguments are invalid due to the DDoS issue. Nothing will make someone want to continue playing after disconnecting and losing 100+ hours of grind/their banks. Yes, we may yet eventually improve our servers, but DDoS'ing is a thing that will never go away. As long as there is internet connection, there will be someone attempting to DDoS.

This mode is destined for failure. It was created solely with the vision of generating more money into the pockets of Jagex employees, hence, the reason is was so terribly thought out and so poorly received. Someone said it in a post on reddit, and I will repeat them:

It is not that we don't want you to have this for the sake of you not having it.

So your only argument is that there will be a dev team to this mode once released? I like to see where Jagex has said anything about that. Ironman mode didn't get its own dev team why shoud DDM?

PvP is an important aspect in DDM but I can't pk at all, never could. I'm a skiller, working together with PvM and PvP people in a group to thrive in this world. Without it, you cannot thrive in DDM.

The only way I'd play this would be if there was significantly increased xp rates. Stat resets by 7 levels is also kind of silly. I'd say all stats get rounded down to the nearest 10. Having to re-grind to unlock ice barrage every time I die is already going to be a huge pain. Us pkers absolutely hate grinding and unless there is a HUGE xp rate increase, I won't bother.

Stat resets should only occur if you die from another player, not an npc. Pkers need to be able to interrupt combat with NPC's and guards should be able to attack skulled players regardless of whether it is a single or multi combat zone.

Also will everyone be starting over like when 07 first came out? I think it should be new accounts and new banks.

But in all honesty I probably won't play this mode based on the current dev blog because grinding is one of the main turn offs of Runescape to me. Increased xp rates (I say at least 5x) would probably change my mind though.

That's the same for ironman mode (which is the only mode I play). Dying because of DDoS attack with your full guthan during a slayer task. This means we need to get a lucky at barrows again to get those 4 exact pieces back. Ironman mode still came through and it is awesome.

If you don't have a team, you either need to make one or strategize how to thrive without it.
When Dg just came out, you had a keyer. The guy given all the keys to to unlock the doors. Same goes with DDM, we have a skillers, PvM and PvP people, all doing their job to help the group thrive in this harsh environment.
