Just to mention, Woox's math didn't use max gear; it used pvp gear (it was +42 str I believe) and he listed the items used in page 6. Also, didn't you reply to that post saying the Abyssal Dagger still outhit the DDS?

Yea that math changes the more strength bonus you add, because the dds spec increases while the abyssal daggers lowers. So the higher the numbers the more 15% is going to change it.

Example:
dds - 40 str bonus 15% damage increase when spec
Max hit of 18.3 with no other armor, 99 strength
with spec its max is 20

Abyssal dagger - 75 str bonus with -15% damage when spec
max hit of 24.3 with no other armor, 99 strength
with spec its max hit is 20.6

The current max str bonus in the game for armor is this...

Serpertine helm = 5
BCP / Torso = 4
Tassets = 2
DFS = 7
Dragon boots = 4 (5) pending a poll passes
Strength Amulet = 10
Barrows gloves = 12
Fire cape = 4
Berserker ring (i) = 8

Which gives you a strength bonus total of 56 with no weapon.

A dds has a strength bonus of 40 bringing your strength bonus to 96 with a max base hit of ~39.5.
The max with special attack which is a +15% to damage would make your max about 45.43.

The abyssal dagger has a strength bonus of 75 bringing your strength bonus to 131 with a base max hit of 48.
The max with the special attack which is a -15% to damage would make your max ~40.8

** yea the dagger is worse than dds which means its going to be dead content.

This calc is still wrong. I've never seen a 45 DD. It's unheard of. I've hit 43s at best. I've seen 43/43 at best on YouTube.

the fact you just quoted that "you've never seen it on youtube" makes anything you say from here on out irrelevant.

The fact is that it is 100% impossible to hit 45 regardless of my hits, or the max on YouTube hits. 45 Does not exist. Your arguments through a google calc are invalid.

Finally the stats are listed for the bludgeon. More on that later.

Even I have to say that the dagger's 15% damage reduction seems like too much. If there was a accuracy boost, I'd be fine with this. So either give it a 50% accuracy boost, OR make the damage reduction only apply on the second hit.

As for the bludgeon, seem like it's designed as a primary weapon. With this in mind, the special attack is fine as is. I do not see any reason that it should only train str however. I do not know of any other weapon that can only train one thing, so what's the reasoning for this? (other than trident, but that doesn't count as it's not good for training anyway)

EDIT: Then again, the special seems like it'll be boring to use and it could encourage people to camp 0-1pray at minigames.

Perhaps something along the lines of a
Savage Assault
would be more appropriate given the weapon type. It could consist of a overhead bash quickly followed by a short lunge. No accuracy or damage boosts.

If both hits, the next melee attack against the opponent will deal more damage.
OSRS Mage Tank.

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

Even someone who desperately despised my Abyssal Puncture idea is agreeing with my side... Does this not say something??

what are you even arguing? I did the math you're quoting your own ignorance as a source. Thats so stupid. And idk or care what your spec suggestion was.

So... the dagger kind does need some help. The bleed effect was a nice little addition to the game, and although I'd rather see it attached to a range weapon (like it initially was) I'm ok with putting it on the dagger. Someone new, something we don't have. Good damage stack to go with it.

As for the bludgeon...not so much. My idea for that one is simple: It's a mace/maul type weapon, correct? Well, the Dragon Mace has a 25% damage increase for a 25% reduction in accuracy... so why not add the old abyssal special to it?

Special attack: Max or nothing.

-Upon use, you will guarantee your maximum hit with the weapon, or hit a zero. Accuracy reduced by 25% for. 50% usage

In absolute maximum gear, you're looking at a 48 damage splat. Not overpowered, but certainly better than relying on low prayer.
Nope.
