We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape.


Hey, guy. Guess what? You can already sell bonds on OSRS from RS3. And guess what else? It's perfectly legal. This changes nothing...except the status of FTP to permanent. Are you really going to deny everybody FTP because you can't get over your little bond taboo? Think about it.

Pretty much this, its sad really.

There's one line in the post saying you can sell bonds to other players. Obviously the person buying will be using gp and the person selling has either purchased the bond with real life cash or is merching them. Buying bonds for cash and selling for gp is so pay to win we might as well be playing RS3. Adding bonds is just building the foundation for micro transactions to introduced into OSRS. I will be voting no.

I thought I'd run this up the flagpole and see who saluted:

Why not introduce bonds into OSRS, but only buyable through the GE for gold. The process would be:

RS3 player buys a bond for cash and puts it on the RS3 GE.

The OSRS GE picks up that a bond is available and allows an OSRS player to buy it (at a predetermined conversion rate) and redeem it for membership.

The RS3 player collects their gold (again a converted value).


Benefits:

- OSRS players can buy membership with GP

- OSRS gets a gold sink

- RS3 players get more buyers for their bonds driving up demand and price

- OSRS avoids the ability to buy gold.


It would need some technical work, but now that we're getting a GE it shouldn't be outside the bounds of possibility. click this ->

I find this funny. Keep your bigger, badder updates awayyy. There is much content in this game already that even maxed players haven't attempted yet. I know you few mods have to do some work to get paid your checks, but can you just leave the game as is for awhile like a good month or two without updates and focus entirely on defending against those attacking the servers? After two months, you can then check in on the rate at which Oldschool members increased. You'd be surprised that players are intiminated by updates and leave..

That's what we've done with every other upcoming poll, we've waited at least a week before voting.
Why rush this one in particular?

2 reasons i'll be voting no.

1: it will discourage gold farmers but encourage real player botting. if this update passes anyone who runs a bot can get free membership by buying bonds with the money they botted while at work/school or asleep.

2: i really don't want any bigger or "better" updates. i play this game because it's not all about fighting bosses again and again hoping to get good drops, there are plenty of other games for that.

Heres a list of reason to vote yes.



1.The money people buy the bonds with will go to a bigger dev team.
2.More content.
3.Perm F2P
4.Bring a halt to RWT.
5.The Game will live longer.



People are saying it takes away sense of "Achievements" what does your achievements mean when this game doesn't survive another two years and it was all for nothing?

Would you rather see it live another 10 years and enjoy times with your clan/friends or see it die in 2 years and see all your "Achievements" go to waste?

Also people starting out again, this means they don't have to spend weeks grinding out skills to go pking when they can pay £3 for bond and sell it for 1.5m osgp and get straight to pking and the person buying the bond can use it to substain membership without paying recurrent fees.

Before anyone says anything, I am lvl 125 with over 150m bank and I am bored with this game already and why? because noone is pking, it is dead. I would love to make a f2p pure & pk but i can't do that currently since F2P worlds are too dead.


Vote Yes for the survival of this game.
