The pros outweigh the cons. Even now people are using RS3 bonds to play OSRS, this will just make things more convenient (and I wont need to log on that game anymore).

They have my vote. But if they start polling stuff like: "To make the new continent Zeah (or any big update) we need to add Solomon store/Treasure Hunter/Squeal of Fortune and so." they will be digging their own grave. Maybe Jagex is just measuring waters with this and they will be trying to badger MTX on OSRS. But for the game to thrive, it needs some way of f2p.

I am all in! F2p will totally bring back the clan wars' fun! Bonds will be helpful not only for regular players but also for those who can't afford to buy membership in real life! Can't wait! (:

I don't mind the bonds, but there REALLY should be an option to only purchase OldSchool membership for cheaper as opposed to buying it for both. Would be a very welcome feature given the upcoming membership price hikes. (Though I guess that's also why it'll never happen, sadly.)

The only concern I have is the following:

On F2P and after level 20 combat you do not receive combat XP for damaging an NPC if your combat level is more than twice its combat level

Whilst I agree for the main part (there's no way levels 20+ in combat should be training on Monks), there's a problem.

Giant Spiders in the stronghold of security are probably the best experience rates free players will be able to get. They deal quite a bit of damage even to people with high defense levels so they're certainly not AFKable. However these are combat level 50 - are you really going to prevent people with combat in excess of 100 the ability to gain exp from them?

Once again, I agree that the exp cap should be in place for weaker monsters , but I believe that monsters that will deal quite a bit of damage shouldn't have the exp cap applied to them. F2P has a quite limited monster pool for training in the first place and if this cap remained on every single monster then higher levels would be limited to training on Catablepons, Ankous, Lesser Demons and Greater Demons (there may be a few more monsters but the list would still be very limited)*

**;DR: The EXP cap in F2P should be lifted from monsters that deal a fair amount of damage as higher levels will have very limited places to train otherwise.

In my opinion the "On F2P and after level 20 combat you do not receive combat XP for damaging an NPC if your combat level is more than twice its combat level" rule is completely unnecessary f2p is limited enough as it is. You really need to start looking into way's of stopping the bots instead of limiting the majority of the good aspects of F2P. I also feel lobster fishing and cooking should be allowed however i agree that yew tree woodcutting (despite being a very nostalgic part of F2P gameplay for me at least) should still remain members only, It's really not needed in the F2P game.

I am for the idea. Below are my predictions/thoughts on some of the features being introduced.

Tradeable Bonds - There will be less demand for people to purchase gold illegally from third party websites. Many players will now choose the more safer option which is to purchase and sell a bond rather than give money to gold-farmers. This will eliminate a large amount of bots.

Tradeable bonds will also cause players who may have not thought about buying gold before, but now that there is a "legal" way to do it, take the plunge and buy a bond. This is okay however because the gold was not farmed and was earned by a player and was also not "generated" by the game. This keeps the economy in check.

Free to Play - We all know that adding free to play to the game will bring in a variety of benefits, even with the restrictions. Free to play players now being able to experience the game will boost the economy, entice potential members to finally sign up, create a larger player base and many, many more benefits.

The restrictions on these players however, should be overlooked. The "No experience if 20 levels higher" should be removed and more quest point-orientated restrictions should be added. Chopping Yews and fishing lobsters should be F2P but should have a quest point requirement also. This ensures that only serious F2P players can do these activities and not a gold-farmer looking for a quick buck.

Thanks for reading this.

If we're going to have bonds, we may as well add in the other Micro-transactions. Squeal of Fortune please; add to poll : D.

If bonds pass, then why not? You can then buy your skills, buy gold and some stats are already a joke to train due to their AFK methods, so why not let people buy stats?

Just to point out AFK methods have been around since Runescape has been released. GG
