By announcing Membership Bonds and tying it in with Permanent F2P, you've essentially blackmailed the entire Old School RuneScape Community to support your idea.

If you want Permanent F2P, Your gonna have to support Membership Bonds.

so sad that jagex are now tricking people into trying to vote in a legit way to cheat and get more ingame advantages.. At this point you might as well poll squeal of fortune loyalty program solomons and other microtransactions. Just another way to lie to their own customers and somehow managing to brainwash a lot of people into something that is not true..

Okay Jagex get this idea: Use money from RS3 to buy membership bonds for RS2007! Sinks money on both games! Its perfect really when you think about it!! Please consider and respond back with why it would/wouldn't work

Bingo, something like this has to happen or your bosses over at RS3 will be taking a massive hit to their bond sales from RS3. I have no issue buying bonds sometimes. However at 6 dollars a piece, I will NOT EVER buy a bond again for less than 8m-10m a piece. No matter if it's player dictated or you guys implement a controlled bond environment where it won't sink below that threshold. Trust me. Real life money will always hold more value than virtual currency you can't cash back in legally.

Thanks for agreeing with me :)
But a few things, because rs2007 gold is much harder to earn the bonds there will most likely be around 2-5 mil, not 8-10. Also I think that the RS3 bonds would remain the relatively the same

The option for just F2P to be released would be economically nonviable and all around just a bad idea, the idea of bonds balancing out the loss is great! Besides there are so many benefits from bonds that we KNOW work! It worked great in rs3!

It seems like you're trying to turn Oldschool into a pay 2 win game like RS3 has become with the introduction of bonds. Why not just release free to play and stop moaning about profit loss? You're already making a ridiculous amount of money from RS3, why do you even need to profit from Oldschool? Just have a heart and give back to the community for once in your money grabbing lives.

I hope at least 26% of people are smart enough to see what they're trying to do here and vote no.

Just be patient and wait until they release F2P without the need to make the game Pay2Win.

Whatever it takes, make f2p happen. It should of been done sooner but better late then never. The majority that want f2p will probably either be players that enjoy just chilling on f2p. Or clan war clans wanting some competition in the f2p clanning/pking community. Also players that want a sort of taste tester coming back to rs and choosing to resub because f2p is quite restrictive.

Great news and I have no real doubts this will pass with flying colours.

Most of the news post makes sense, but I don't see how making a new way to pay for membership would have any affect on RWT or gold swapping clans.

Some people, like myself, plan to make money in old school and spend it in RS3 if that's still within Jagex's rules.

I can re-explain the RWT reduction if you would like:
NoBonds :
People want ingame money
Goes to a Runescape gold website
Buys some gold than A or B happen

A) Recives gold
Gold website gets money
Gold Website buys more programs/Hardware to run bots giving money to bot companies
Botting companies use this money to hire more coders to make more complicated scripts and make botting less detectable
You complain that jagex can't even ban a bot and flame a form
Andrew Gower cries himself to sleep while reading flame posts

B) You do not recive gold

The Gold Website takes your money and than what? Report them to jagex?
And than, you guessed it
"Gold website gets money
Gold Website buys more programs/Hardware to run bots giving money to bot companies
Botting companies use this money to hire more coders to make more complicated scripts and make botting less detectable
You complain that jagex can't even ban a bot and flame a form
Andrew Gower cries himself to sleep while reading flame posts"

BONDS:
You want some runescape gold
You purchase a bond off the official website with 0 chance of being scammed
Jagex recives money
Jagex hires new coders and employees
Jagex uses that money to destroy bots or release new content
you become super confused and impressed that jagex is able to afford cool and epic new updates like:
Aaraxor
Elf City
The 200th Quest - A world without heroes <-- Excited for this one!
The Elder Gods
2nd Godwars
Inventor skill

Just think how much more you enjoy all this ^ Over bots.

I've reviewed the data and have concluded:
just do a 6-12month trial!
seems to fit in great with that little graph

@cedric
bonds also introduce players who would not normally rwt into the rwt world.
After paying 50$ in bonds for 10m in game, they look at the current non-jagex prices. 50$ could get them 25m in game.
the player then says "**** bonds" and buys from the black market.

Bonds only work to stop/hurt rwt if bonds give you similar gold than the gold sellers. Of course in this current way, Jagex gets more slice of the pie, which gives them more budget money which is good.

If bonds really did hurt/stop rwt, then we would see the gold prices drop. But in fact, prices for rs3 gold have risen 50% since the introduction of bonds. Maybe due to more demand. If you would buy rs3 gp on the black market, it would cost about 4.2$ usd for 29 days of membership from the ge. that beats out the loyalty price of 4.99$ a month. Jeez!

Cedric, you are quite obviously RS3 player. I doubt you even played Runescape back in 07. I don't pretend to know anything about your game, so please return the favor. No wonder the auction house passed, if you are the player base, fleeing from a dead game and trying to turn this one into it.
