If you were going to introduce a defender I was glad you made it something that had to be bought, and not a free piece of armor that will instantly devalue dragon-fire shield and is free 30% accuracy boost. This type of power up SHOULD NOT be free and here you go supporting an idea that says it should be free. That is absolutely stupid.

Really disappointed you changed the ideas, you had something solid initially but couldn't stick to your grit to see it through.


actually the ideas that come into the game are fairly based upon 45% or more of the players opinions on the forums, you tube, twitter, etc.

Then we vote for a 75% passing rate in a poll...

They changed it because I'm not sure if you visited the other dev blog but there was an almost unanimous cry for a rework on all of these items.


actually i was bored with the items before, the new blow pipe sound O/P and i love range ;)

also they must have listened to me on twitter because they made the blow pipe 2handed haha, keeps the value of Armadyl Crossbow high and makes it useful

Yes, if using rapid with darts and accurate with a shortbow. Nobody uses accurate so change it to "same speed as a shortbow"

I think this is an excellent way to go about new special attacks, giving rangers that option to have the healing ability in PvM rather than the SGS being the only option available to them.

a +1 additional str bonus over a helm, say helm of neitizinot, is negligible, is it not? so changing it from +5 to +4 would do nothing? but if you make it +6 it would be slightly O/P? (best in slot melee)


As I am to believe only a +/-2 would make a deference with deferent gear set up or a +/-4 would be = 1 higher hit with maxed str gear set up?

make the entire staff made out of like 2 fangs put together? similar to skull sceptre without the skull on top?? much better graphic IMO

the little fang on the time of the staff looks TERRIBLE

The scales will not have a consistent drop rate? What is the range at which the scales will be dropped? A long with how many of them needed for charges. Also are the scales going to be stacked?


I think the scales should have a consistent rate of some kind especially in the higher range like 30-60. Really would suck killing a snake and getting 5 scales when other players would kill the snake and get 100 scales. That is why I think a range of 30-60 would be best for something like this. Stacked scales should also be involved. I wouldn't want to make the choice of either picking up scales or keeping supplies for more kills so having the scales as a 1 item stacked drop would be best.

Another thought is the scale charging rate for items compared to drop of scales. For example lets say the helm is 1000 scales to recharge. With a drop rate of scales being 30-60 (average around 45) that would be about about a 4.5% of a full charge per scale drop from the snake. That to me might be a little high. Killing around 23 snakes would charge an item fully and would make charging the item fairly easy with scales. Having the rate be 1-2% of scale drop per recharge of item to me would be better. Would make the scales more valuable and a better value as a consistent drop.

Just a thought from a player who has played runescape for over ten years. :)

Why the -10 range / mage should be removed from the helmet :
Ok, so let's look at the places where you will use this helm.
-Bandos Attacker
-Zamorak Tank
-Corporeal Beast (maybe)

The antipoison effect would only be good for tanking zamorak (you attack zamorak with slay helm anyway, not worth going there off-task).
What bosses poison you?
-DKs
-Venenatis
-Scorpia
-Snake boss

Ok, so at DKs you wouldn't use the helm because range is your most important attack style (prime is the slowest to kill).
At Venenatis you use veracs so you won't be using the helm anyway.
You mage scorpia with barrage + trident, the -10 mage will make your barrages splash more often.
The snake boss will require 2 different attack styles so you will have to use mage and/or range. Nobody would want to do a high level boss with -10 range/mage (quite a lot).

So the best places to use this helm in theory would be DKs and the Snake Boss itself, sadly nobody will use it there because you don't want to be hitting less often for something like an antipoison (just wear a barrows helm and bring sanfew serums).
