I would suggest rethinking the large damage increase to the Trident. Currently, the max hit at 99 is 28. Using an occult necklace (+10%), this comes to 30. (Everything in this game is rounded down afaik) Increasing the base damage of the trident puts it at 31, with a rounded down 10% increase, that makes 34. As you can see, the damage has increased 4 points rather than 3. If you bother potting, you can even hit 35.

I think this is too close to the max hit of 37 of zamorak flames and ice barrage. I already have the issue of an ever growing stack of blood runes in my bank. Frankly, I only ever use them in nightmare zone (where they are free) and at barrows, once per melee opponent. I don't think largely buffing the trident damage therefore is a good idea. Remember it also has the benefit of the venom as well.

On another note, is it really a good idea to make the venom potions from antidote++? The only significant way to acquire these are clues. Now I may be biased because I dislike doing those, but it seems like venom will be playing a much larger role than these few antidotes++ from clues can cure. Also, I'd like to suggest bringing in Lava Dragon Scales, as extended dragonfire potions aren't all that useful. These scales could be used instead of a Torstol, otherwise you're just going to have to add torstols to drop tables again.

Right, I'll stop rambling on. Good job on anything I did not bring up. Glad people that don't pk also benefit from this update now. :)

Preferred the original dev blog a bit more but I still like it. These are my notes for the new things:

Venom:
- This sounds really good but I'm worried about how this will advance pvp and slightly worried about pvm.

Blowpipe:
- Don't make the special attack heal you.
- Use more than 50% special attack energy, perhaps 60% like in the original dev blog.

Snake fang:
- Does the fang degrade? or are your spells solely from using scales for charges?

Serpentine helm
- Remove the chance of inflicting venom, this item already stops venom so it's very powerful.
- Perhaps reduce the stats of this item or add melee and range versions of this to stop venom.

Venomous spike:
- I really liked this item, but I'm glad you realise that defender-like items should come from warriors guild.
- Perhaps you could look into creating another item (I'm thinking some sort of cape/backpack) that inflicts venom, then the serpentine helm wouldn't have to do it.

Kraken boss drops 2x noted antidotes++ as a common drop, corp drops 40x noted antidotes++, also a pretty common drop. They're quite cheap on **bez now too.

Venenatis also drops them. They definitely aren't too hard to come by these days.

Ah sounds good, disappointed by the spike but hey dragon defender will have to do I just hope mod ghost can give it a good model and not just a recolour a rune defender LOL.

Yeah lovin these rewards haven't be nerfed yay :P

You guys are still too chained to "venom", "scales" & "degradable".

Venom - I think most of the community doesn't want this to become ' venomscape '. A boss would be nice without the introduction of some entirely new form of poison - that may as well just be called poison.

Scales - Pretty much poly-pore dungeon, or whatever it was called.

Degradable - Barrows if fine to have to repair because you can do it in so many different places. Using scales just seems a bit too much like poly-pore dungeon, sorry.

Also, I don't think we need to balance every single item. If darts and javelins are worse weapons the maybe that's not such a horrible thing. You can buff them of course... but to devote time and man-power to give people their preference on attack style animation? I'd much rather see this energy going to quests :\


I don't think I would vote for the boss as it stands now. I don't think most of the player-base would vote for this or can even get excited for this.

Nothing wrong with the venom idea.
Nothing wrong with scales to repair the gear.
Nothing wrong with wanting to buff dead content.
But when it comes to quests, they're always pretty far behind in the priority polls - I dont think many people want them that much.
