Its not that the players gave it enough support either, its your broken poll system you refuse to acknowledge.

We had to wait a few months before we could even start, since we didn't have our own dedicated engine dev back when this was polled. We said at the time that it'd be a long job.

We could change the poll system by chucking out the results whenever enough people rant on the forums, sure. However, it's going to be rather hard to gauge the overall opinion of the community from the minority who bother engaging in forum debates, especially as such debates tend to give extra weight to those who shout the loudest. So let's accept for now that the poll system is flawed but better than blithely assuming that whatever we last saw on the forums was a representative opinion of the players.

... and if "everyone" really felt that 75% was ridiculously high as a threshold, perhaps there'd have been more support in the poll when we offered to reduce it.

Not to be rude or anything, but if I'm correct you guys listen to 1/3rd of the community in the matter of decreasing the percentage to 70%..

The current poll of us gets advertised that we need 75,0% for things to pass, but the truth is that it requires 25,01% to ruin it for the majority of the community.

Also, you guys LEAD Oldschool Runescape, the community has told you guys plenty of times that not EVERY single tiny thing has to be polled.. It disappoints me that important things don't pass because of a minority of people voting against things.

I agree with poop fight (not a sentence i ever thought id say)

the current poll system gives the minority the advantage, a no vote has 3 times the power of a yes one.

In fact the way the question is worded totally changes the outcome of the poll.

for example if you polled:

SHOULD WE KEEP THE CURRENT AFKING METHODS?

I assure you that this will get rid of splashing and afk nmz because an updates outcome can be totally changed due to wording of the question. this is why i believe the poll system is totally broken.

Its suppose to give the minority the power. Its entirely design to ensure "lord" ash and crew don't do what the community doesn't want. It was established as part of OSRS! "When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero"

Questions are designed so 75 is required to see change and 25 to stop or keep the same.

I feel like there are a lot of people who just don't listen or comprehend simple diction. People, Ash actually knows what he's talking about. I was facepalming so much last night seeing how many times he had to repeat himself about things concerning the Trading Post on his Twitter.... it was laughable.

edit: Also, keep up the great updates! Looking forward to GE similar features and item sets! :)

but the afk methods aren't something we voted for in the first place, they were just a result of people not thinking about consequences, so my way of putting it should be the correct way of asking the question surely?
