Is it possible to poll some Pest Control updates this year? Something like what I've talked with you (higher xp/point, keep the portal shields). Just returned this week after around 40 days break :)

You're welcome to continue fighting the corp in the public arena as before.

However, if you want to go into a private area with your friends, you now have that option - but we're not going to be able to protect you from your own friends. Rather like how we don't prevent you from dropping stuff on the floor in someone else's POH, which is far more lootable than the situation in the Corp instances.

We can rename it if people like. But since 75% of players didn't vote to be able to trade through it, you can't trade through it.
For that matter, we've offered to reduce the threshold from 75% to 70%, but there wasn't much support for that either, so 75% remains the threshold for a poll to pass.

Check out the results of Poll 20. A GE would let players trade while they're offline; that only got 64% support. A GE would let players trade after being offline for more than 6 hours; that only got 48% support.

So no, we didn't assume that everyone wants a GE.

The ability to trade through a trading post didn't pass either, but that was pretty close, though, and might well have changed.

Oh cmon, this whole 75% to pass garbage is getting old. This game is losing potential left and right because of it. Surely YOU, an employee of the company that runs this game, and someone that helps develop new updates can see that, right?

I love this game, I hate seeing things that should pass not pass. The whole nostalgia that this game had has passed and it needs to move forward, alot of the updates offered that haven't passed were perfect ways to move forward but they're not happening because people are afraid of change because things like Eoc or other similar massive updates ruined the game or parts of it.

This year? Probably not. We've got a lot of stuff still to do in the run-up to Christmas. Also, the guys who reboot the servers for our updates are going to be on holiday in late December, so we won't be able to release anything then.

Yes. I did it for RS3, back in about 2010-ish, so can do it again for OSRS.

We offered to reduce it, but that only got 64%. So no, it's staying on 75%.

If an update doesn't pass, it doesn't mean you get zero updates. You just get different updates instead, hopefully updates that will appeal to more of the community.

The new rings look really good, definitely a good update.
Just shot a bolt with the Armadyl crossbow, and that special is amazing. The little bird that flies towards your opponent is really neat. Definitely a great improvement.

P.S. The trading post updates look really cool. I'm interested to see if/when things will be repolled for it. I am on the side that doesn't want a full G.E. again, but a modified version with what you're doing looks good.

The GE brought a lot of convenience to the game back in '07, but it brought a lot of economic effects that many players legitimately won't want again. And, as we've seen, only 48% of voters wanted to be able to have trades complete after 6+ hours of being offline.
