A major concern of mine is a "rebalancing" of agility, much like when ivy or runespan was introduced into Runescape. I'm worried that the other courses, some of the best, will become obsolete and the agility skill will be reduced to a network of rooftops. That seems to be the worst case scenario though. I do have faith that our small team implements updates carefully, avoiding anything that could catastrophically alter a skill. However, there has been no information provided onto where this content will be implemented, the experience rates, or the accessibility of it. Personally, a high level course in Lletya that coincides with the experience rates advanced courses provided seems ideal to me. It's extremely difficult for me to vote on something that is so vaguely presented in the write-up provided. I'm also curious that if this is added, if it will be the last agility update that we will see for a long time.

They managed to introduce the best combat exp in the game in complete safety via Nightmare Zone so I'm not entirely sure they can be trusted in balancing things.

Please don't let agility be the next cooking :(

EDIT: Feel the need to expand. ^ what I mean is don't make the XP gains ridiculous. 99 Agility is a great achievement. Don't make the mistake you originally made with Runecrafting ect.

Xp is something which will need to be adjusting during the testing process so it will be difficult to give accurate xp rates before it is made.

We've been working on how we can make this work and this is what we have so far.

Each agility course will be a course that runs around the rooftops of a city. You will need to cross numerous agility obstacles to complete the course. Each obstacle you complete will give you agility xp. If you complete the whole course, you will receive a bonus amount of xp. If you fail an obstacle you will fall to the streets below and have to start the curse again.

Throughout the world you may also find some hidden shortcuts that take you to some rooftops of famous landmarks. Each week you will be able to find these and locations and collect a bonus amount of XP based on your current agility level.
Along the agility courses you may also be lucky enough to find a Mark of Grace, collect enough of these to trade them at Rogues Den for a new agility outfit.

Agility courses
• Draynor Village – level 10
• Al Kharid – level 20
• Varrock – level 30
• Canifis – level 40
• Falador – level 50
• Seers – level 60
• Pollnivneach – level 70
• Rellekka – level 80
• Ardougne – level 90

Agility suit
• Weight reduction effects
• Graceful hood, cape, body, legs, gloves and boots

More to follow later today.

I wasn't too keen on the agility update before, thinking it was literally just the ability to climb a few random rooftops and perhaps unlock a few shortcuts, but actually I quite like the idea now.

That sounds awesome :) . Would it be possible to reward higher level agility? Currently the difference between level 70-99 agility (in terms of time it takes to restore energy) is lower than 1-10.. Could you please change the agility algorithm so that higher levels will further decrease the time needed to restore energy? (half what it currently is at 99).

This could be an addition to the update. Note that even if you do half the time it takes at 99, it'd still be far, far slower than it is on eoc.

No cape, gloves or boots please. There's already spottier cape, penance gloves and boots of lightness which reduce weight.

Mat, I know you can't be too specific, but I do have a few questions.

1) Will rooftops be a more efficient way of training agility than courses? Are we essentially going to make all the other courses dead content?

2) Will the best roofs be better than the best courses? It sounds to me like there is enough incentive to participate with weight reducing armor.

I don't like the idea that at a certain level course A or B becomes better than an already existing course as apparently if we fall we need to start the course again, similar to the Ape atoll course at a level lower than 75.

However, I really don't like the idea that after a certain number of courses you get this weight reducing stuff, that's just rehashing rs3 content and seems arbitrary, there's no real achievement in it.

I think my worst fears may be realized in that they may completely gut the agility skill and make most things dead content. I do worry that the weight reducing armor would also make rewards from other skills dead content. Hopefully if weight reducing armor is implemented none of the graceful items are better than the best weight reducing armor currently.
