I want to avoid the game becoming like EoC yes, however jagex recently turned down opening f2p on a perm basis. Doing so pretty much dooms this game to failure without a fighting chance. We may as well back these updates before everyone quits and its 2 late anyway.

I am also disappointed that Jagex have not backed f2p and honestly believe they've shot themselves in the foot. We can still enjoy 07, I'll enjoy it more if the updates are reasonable... hence all this discussion.

The Corporeal beast could be a great addition to OSRS and I feel it could be great for high level players. I think the Quest Cape is a good requirement, this way more people will complete more of the current, and possible new quests which results is less 'dead' content. This will only happen ofcourse if the rewards are satisfying. An alternative option could be 200 Quest Points.

As for the location, I feel for a place somewhere in level 40+ Wilderness, this would increase the risk for the ones brave enough to face the Corporeal Beast ;) This would also hopefully increase some acticity from PKers in the Wilderness.

For the Corporeal Beast to succeed, and to be a meaningful addition to OSRS, the rewards should be good, rare but also not too disruptive.

I think it has been said multiple times before that a Ranged, Melee and Magic Spirit Shield could be a good drop. The shields could differentiate themselves from the God Books and Dragonfire Shield for example by offering different stat advantages. Such as great defence and as effect reduced damage for the cost of a few prayer points.

This way they could be highy useful for things like Slayer and boss fights while avoiding general scenario's where we want to keep the DFS and rune defender the best option.

All in all, the Corporeal Beast could be great.

Personally I think a quest point requirement of 200+ would be good. As someone already stated, entry to the Corporeal Beast required two mid-high level quests recently. I think that the Corporeal beast should drop spirit shields [b]without[b] a stat nerf. I would also love to see armours introduced, and a high level crush weapon. In my opinion, spirit shields could be considered over powered. BUT. This definately came at a price. Spirit shields are a very rare drop from a very hard boss. If you can afford to buy a spirit shield, you deserve to be overpowered. IF you can afford to risk a spirit shield in any PVP games, you deserve to be overpowered. Banning spirit shields from +1 PVP/wilderness worlds could eliminate the issue of people being overpowered without risk in PVP. As for PVM, the spirit shields are a HUGE step forward, and I would love to see them re-released in there former glory. AS you stated, we have to take a leap forward in the OSRS armory eventually! whatever happens, thanks so much for this update! I can't wait to get my Zamorakian Spear and go duo some corp! sincerely, 5B9

In my opinion i think corp shouldn't have any quest requirements, because people who are going to kill corp are going to be people who boss the most, not quest or skill, most people that boss are usually 90-126 combat level so i think to be able to access corp you should be lvl 90+.

Id also prefer the original shields, everyones always complaining how they want pre-eoc back but they moan whenever they mention bringing corp shields back into 07,
Also you should add a higher range/mage weapons into the game what are dropped by corp, because especially with ranged its quite boring using a Armadyl c'bow or rune.

I like corp, but I think divine and elysian are too overpowered, spectral and arcane are fine I guess. But I don't know how they'll fair up against the odium and malediction ward so maybe just complete new shields would be better. I do really like the look of the shields so if you will come up with new shields, please keep the same (sort of) design.
I don't think there should be a combat requirement. If you're for example a really good range tank at combat 99 and you have to be 100 then that is kind of unfair. Also you go in at own risk anyways, so if your stats aren't high that is your own problem. I think a quest requirement for 180+ quest points is decent.

Honestly most of the community cant even decide on what the corporeal beast should drop. By the time the polls arrive, the community will be split between the reward choices and it will delay the release even further. I can see the corporeal beast poll passing but there is too much controversy over the rewards.

Also, we also need to focus on how the loot will be split. Can one person really be trusted with an item of such rarity? Maybe something similar to lootshare should be implemented without the requirement of a G.E.

Hi guys. Bit late to post the idea I had but yeh.

So since corp should ideally be our newest and best money making method through PVM (Better than Double Nats etc) I feel like just a combat requirement would be silly since many players have NMZ'd to 99 all, mainly AFK. I don't like the idea of maxed combats making that much profit with say 60 slayer only. Just doesn't feel right or balanced.

My idea to enter to Corp caves would be skill requirements. This would add some lore as you are using your skill set to get into the cave with the strongest monster in the game. So from my point of view that should mean if it is just chilling in this cave, it must have been blocked there for a reason and thus say 70 agility to cross a gap, or thieving to unlock a door to reach it, sounds fair and reasonable.

It could be one requirement, or you have multiple paths you could choose. This would be balanced with certain paths being faster to the beast than others.

Example: Mining > Thieving path.

Or we could just have 2-3 skills along the way in a single path and allow anyone in that team to unlock it for the others.

Example: Player A unlocks a door with 75 thieving, its unlocked for 10-20 seconds for the team to rush through.

Just my opinion and think this was an idea never looked at since we seem to be very combat heavy in this game, I think we should keep promoting the use of the other skill mechanics to tie in with the PVM content and make people truly feel like they've earned their drops and others are impressed by what they did to achieve it. Sadly, I doubt anything skill related to enter the Corp would pass a poll with our player base not thinking balanced over easy usually.

To me, the biggest problem with corp is that it is such a hard boss to kill without a decent team. Trusting a decent team to split drops as expensive as this monster is known for dropping, without having a form of lootshare, is a very hard thing to do. With the introduction of corp beast to 2007, there must also need to be a form of safely splitting its loot amongst the team members fighting it.

To me, the way to do this without a grand exchange, would be to make it so that the drops are split in the same way as a seismic wand. Say a team receives a divine sigil (just using sigils as an example), then the sigil can be converted into divine shards and have each member of the team receive their share of the shards, which they can then sell themselves (maybe make each item worth 100 shards, which are then split up evenly). Then, 100 shards can be bought to create the shield itself.
