One thing though, People have bought th keys whether it's irl money or bonds in game, How would you refund everyone?

Legally and ethically, Jagex simply can't and they are even silly to think about that, especially when TH is their biggest source of MTX which is 55% of their gross revenue.

That is certainly a relevant question in the scenario where Treasure Hunter is actually removed. Say that does happen, then I am really not sure there is an actual need to provide any refunds. I mean, Treasure Hunter keys are consumables and expire as is, so unless you happen to still have active keys on your account at the time of removal, nothing really changes for you as you have consumed your product. My first thought on how to compensate players with active keys on their accounts in the event Treasure Hunter is removed was to provide the equivalent in Bonds (rounded up) as that would presumably allow them to participate in whatever takes Treasure Hunter's place.

Right now though, I am much more interested in promoting a constructive, two-way dialogue between Jagex and the player-base regarding micro-transactions and the various monetisation models currently available. There is obviously a discrepancy between what we players want and appreciate, and what is being pushed by Jagex. I am of the -- perhaps naive -- belief that a situation akin to the current situation is entirely avoidable by simply encouraging open and honest communication. Indeed, the only way to have a meaningful, constructive conversation is by being honest and transparent.

There is no expiration date on TH keys. Why should Jagex throw away 26% of their revenu, and risk getting criminally prosecuted for a 2 week EXPERIMENT that Jmods said might not be run again? Pretty good joke to me. :D :D :D

I like that idea. I have another idea though. How about before th is removed they give a 30 day grace period of a few more th promotions to use those keys on. Before announcement of th removal you can no longer buy keys from bonds or from Jagex. I need my blue charms back.

LOL. Why should Jagex throw away 26% of their revenue.

Besides, before anybody going further away to yet another misplaced anti-TH thread I want to remind you that this is the RECENT UPDATE forum and Jagex never said anything about removing TH AFAIK, or please provide evidence.

Treasure Hunter keys expire 12 months after purchase.

I do encourage you to check the screenshots I included on the previous page, as well as to browse through Mod Osborne's posts on Reddit -- and watch the livestream if you have not already, though I am getting the impression you have -- to get a sense of why I have written my posts the way I have. If you continue to interpret things differently then that is obviously perfectly fine.

Thanks for your posts!

Correct me if I am wrong please. I saw 2 screen shots from Elite Stacks but not you. If these were the screenshots you meant then read them again carefully. Osborne (1) did not promise anything he said "IF" and (2) what he tried to see that they could "pull back" something like TH and he told the users to get that from the Live Stream.

What it turned out from the Live Stream was Osborne apparently said the "pull back" was a week of no TH promotion, which we are getting as of this second. So TH is being pulled back with a no promotion week. Pretty clear to me and again please read the important word "IF" before Osborne went on to the "pull back" part. It was not any promise to begin with.

The screen shots were his not mine.

OK. So my replies were based on the RIGHT screenshots, right?

Then it is pretty clear, at least to me, Osborne did not promise anything, it was just an "IF" under a hypothetical "successful" RunePass sitatuon that SOMETHING like TH (but not TH necessarily TH) could be "pulled back". He then asked the users to check out the Twitch Stream for details.

Osborne, clearly communicated from the stream that there would be a one week of no TH promotion, but no, it doesn't carried into the second week but nothing else.

Nothing is about removing or replacing Th is promised at all. And there is not even a "successful" RunePass to talk about now. What he said about pulling back one week of TH promotion is already happening. Seems pretty clear to me what Osborne said is done with actions.

Oooh. This is a very interesting thread indeed. So much constructive feedback from the majority of people who have responded thus far.

Firstly, Mexk I wanted to thank you for the time taken to write this post as well thought out criticism helps others to look at the facts and try to remove (or put to one side) the intense emotion (as is frequently found on reddit) from the conversation.

Secondly I agree that transparency is something that is greatly supported by ANY player-base. In fact a game that listens to community suggestions often prospers. If we love the games we play im sure I am not along in saying that I am more inclined to spend my money on them. With this in mind it is easy to see why Jagex chose to emulate Epics Fortnite in terms of the battle RUNEpass. The quote from your post below is of particular importance (to me at least) in that it highlights a sentiment echoed by the majority of gamers...

In general, please figure out what you actually want to sell and then work with us to find an acceptable balance between profitability and non-intrusive, non-destructive content. RunePass could very well be the key to achieving this, but you absolutely need to take on feedback and actually implement it. Communicate, communicate, and communicate.

You can do better, and we are willing to help.

So just wanted to chip in and say that I would very much welcome HONEST dialogue both on these very forums, but also in the realm of reddit on these matters. They may be harsh, but often true - there are many players there too, and the majority of the posts at the moment (constructive on the whole) are going unanswered by J-mods.

Please don't allow this marvelous game be consigned to the dustbin of history!
