25-30 quests released per year in the 2004-2009 timeframe
5 quests released this year. 4 of which are very short.

What happened Jagex?

Profiled.

Original message details are unavailable.
...we are starting a rework of Treasure Hunter, which will have greater emphasis on cosmetics and conveniences.

This sounds particularly nice.

Your a bunch of sell outs and Charlestons, and I mean that in the most honest way. If anyone at jagex really believes in the long term future of runescape they are believing in fantasy. Treasure hunter has been selling the long term future of runescape for the sake of short term profits. This is the most pure definition of a sell-out.

I think this is Sof/Th apology number...4? I cant' remember now since they have all previously turned out to be complete bullshit so I dont expect this one to be any different.

I'm guessing the rework of TH will just be what happened to the original SoF, gets renamed but is ultimately the exact same thing, give it a fresh coat of paint and hope nobody notices and hope it calms the opinion surrounding it.

Overall I still play runescape, purely because I've already put soo much time into it but everyone I know agrees that if we were to start fresh right now, none of us would stick around since its just a poor version of any generic mmorpg at this point, with all the attention and effort put into mtx and a collective of maybe 3 people actually making updates on the game

As stated in Balance's statement, Jagex are currently working on larger updates.

Why is it taking so long? Updates used to be much more frequent and substantial. It's late October and we only had 5 short quests? Not good.

tfw osrs has no mtx and still releases good content than rs3 riddled with mtx.

Better content, even.

The fact that the money has so clearly not been going to fund improved quality of updates pretty much makes us RS3 players suckers.

I don't expect MTX to stop, but holy cow, take stock and start doing some of the "hard" things again with that money. Yes, a mining/smithing update will take a lot of work after all this time. Doing it right won't be easy. But to tell us over and over again "we're working on it" only to be scrapped, only to be told "we're working on it again" has gotten to the point where it is laughable.

You do something with lots of hype (not all of it coming from our expectations) and loads of potential (Arc, Menaphos) and then because we don't absolutely love and gush over it, you just throw your hands up and abandon it! "Oh here, we're sorry about that half-assed update. Here, here's a shiny new boss!" Good lord, I want to see more of the Arc! But I don't want the gameplay to continue as it started. You keep hiring new people, but the creativity and ability to get something good carried out seems to be worse than at any time before in your history!

In short, MTX are here to stay. Those of us that are realistic, realize that fact. But do SOMETHING with it.

Why is there no info about Solomon?

Solomon get's like 2 updates a year, TH 50 times a year.
Throw the cosmetic stuff in Solomon, give people what they want, they will buy it.

As for TH promotions, why not do one big promotion per month, just one, nothing else and see how that turns out.
It isn't constantly in our faces and it doesn't come over as desperate and greedy.
I am sick of getting spammed to death by these TH updates, there are like 3 on the main page right now!
