If it weren't for bonds playing such a heavy role in Jagex's monetization schemes, this game would certainly be f2p now.

We all know it has enough MTX to make most f2p games blush. Might as well remove TH if we aren't going f2p.

Bond revenue was only £1 million last year, "dropped" 95% from £21 mil a year ago.

If some MTX was going to be removed first, it got to be the "failing" Bond.

Bungie allowed to admit mistakes instead of silently taking the heat from unhappy players while being slaves to ATVI every command. This apology only cements the fact that their release from ATVI has been nothing but positive news because they are actually allowed to admit their mistakes and make appropriate changes where necessary and possible!

Thanks for sharing this fantastic news. I am so happy for Bungie and their future looks very bright! :D :D

While shady developers like Bungie failed to disguise pay-to-win as free-to-play and had to embarrassingly apologize for screwing up, the other > 9000 rich and honest game developers who admit the importance of MTX and surprise mechanics are the integral part of their business continue to prosper.

Hey, don't like just a few TH chests or a Wheel, why not bring the entire casino into the game like this game?

https://www.pcgamesn.com/grand-theft-auto-v/gta-casino-money

Of course they are smart and honest. First, you need to pay them $800 real money to buy the Diamond Casino membership and VIP status, then of course you can use real money to "gamble" in the "casino" to get virtual in game items.

You know why this is smart? Well, Wall Street tells you they are:

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/take-two-interactive-stock-halted-as-revenue-tops-consensus-estimates-2019-08-05

BTW, TTWO is up another 4% today when analysts endorses their GTA Diamond Casino among all the other MTX in their 2K Sports. :D

Moral of the story? You better be an honest game developer who admits MTX is an integral part of their business than the shady ones who stupidly disguise pay-to-win MTX as free-to-pay. :D :D :D

"Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony have indicated to the ESA a commitment to new platform policies with respect to the use of paid loot boxes in games that are developed for their platform," Warnecke said. "Specifically, this would apply to new games and game updates that add loot box features, and it
would require the disclosure of the relative rarity or probabilities
of obtaining randomized virtual items in games available on their platforms."

Great that Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony know it is only fair for games to release the relative rarity of items in their loot boxes just like what Jagex is doing with TH. :)

Lol, finally Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony are seeing that EA is trying to doom the lootbox market and started to make their own moves. Good, government intervention should only be the final solution when all else fails. °l||l° Modest Skillers T7 Citadel | Skilling clan recruiting players. °l||l°

It is even worse when shady companies try to engage the community heavily with shady pay-to-win MTX disguised as free-to-play.

Good that Jagex is not one of them. They show us the odds and rarities of their chance items, even when the game platform operators don't require them. :)

LOL!!! Some people don't see EA endorses what the console platforms are going to do. :D :D :D :D

Of course, they are happy to provide the same transparency they have been providing to the World including China for a couple of years already. They have nothing to lose. It is just the real bad apples of the game industry that reply on shady MTX practices and 3rd party offsite gambling have to worry.

Uh Oh! What government intervention when, like I said > 9000 times, the game industry is self-regulating to weed out the bad apples from all fronts, of course that include but not limit to casinos pretending to be games or shady real world crooks pretending to be gamers. :D :D :D :D :D :D
