the bigger picture of it is, is to remove daily keys from under 18's?
I don't think so. This thread is more like some place for the few failed petitioners against loot boxes to rant when their IRL efforts fell on the deaf ears of IRL governments. For instance:
IRL, basically every rant has either been outright rejected by the governments or died when failing to reach the minimum signatures to even draw a government response.
I didtn read whole thread, maybe some already wrote it.
Essentially you can buy chips (bonds) from the house (Jagex) for real money. You go table (dual arena) and gamble (box). If you won you can buy stuff from in-house store and if you lose... well you can buy new set of chips. Long term you are losing real money on gambling and if you lose it to much you can get in real life problems.
Q: How do you feel about your performance as a company in front of the (UK Parliament) MP's? Do you feel like calling loot boxes 'surprise mechanics' is an accurate representation of what your fellow employees and players think?
A: Jagex were happy to volunteer our help to inform the discussion and have been singled out as being "encouraging" by the comittee where other studios refused to participate.

Due to several countries investigation of lootboxes, which treasure hunter is, the pay to win era of runescape might be closing to its end. You can tell Jagex have been cashing in the gambling addicts for the past year, knowing that it is too good to be true, so instead of once a month promotion TH turned into 2 promotions a week to ensure there is something you have to spend your money on or you will miss out.
Australia has investigated that loot boxes are psychological gambling, gateway to problem gambling and this is why it is so profitable for gaming companies. It is like selling drugs as postal service to rehab center patients, you dont see your customer but the insane amounts of money is flowing in works as a motivator, out of sight, out of mind.
I thought it was 3 a week, in a cycle so they're up 24/7.
Still obviously a problem.
Don't see any problems whether it was 3 or 7 promotions a week. Even Australia has no problem with loot boxes whatsoever because "gambling" simulations like loot boxes are not illegal gambling. Skin gambling is illegal gambling. However, it will only be illegal if the games allow players to gamble on 3rd party casinos offsite. Furthermore, the Aussie government said even for illegal gambling they are not going to knock down the door of their garage to arrest them. They will only go after the real larger scale casinos.
Exactly! Let us gamblers gamble in RS3!! Don't take this away from us! My son wouldn't be allowed to go to a casino to gamble but RS3 allows him to have fun and start going young !! Don't take that away!

If you don't want to gamble, don't stake your platinums or gp in Duel Arena. Ignore autospammer and 3PC. Don't do flower games and such.

He already said he is only going to gamble with treasure hunter, never know what you gonna get with your key, maybe 200million? maybe 500 air runes? who knows, lets take a chance and gamble some.
PS. RIP TH in France, no more french kids growing up to adulthood with crippling gambling problems. What a shame, Jagex could have really used those dimes.

He clearly said: "Exactly! Let us gamblers gamble in RS3!!", definitely not TH.
Besides, the world government is not just looking at TH or loot boxes. The net is clearly closing in the player-to-player gambling, especially with real money/asset in 3rd party site.
