The mage knew enough about the Abyss to know a lot of things, knowledge, artefacts long lost to all memory and creatures could be found there but he'd never had the time or resources to pursue it himself. And now it appeared someone beat him to it.

At last a note that explained something, tt was battle worn and stained with blood. The corpse holding it seemed to be reluctant to let go. There was a struggle to control the bottom floor the biggest problem being that not one god faction had forces in place.. There was no choice but to assemble a new shield and get help fast.

The shield was devised by himself, as the Worlds foremost Abyssal mage, well to his own knowledge anyway. Even a group of them was not enough to penetrate very far. Others were far too busy or blithely unconcerned. Did he not hold the abyss open for untold years?

Still there was one person left to turn to. Someone just boneheaded enough to think of battling, puzzling and skilling their way to bottom of these dungeon wars as an adventure.

It was time to call in the World Guardian.

Forinthry was razed by an inferno which turned the very earth black, and volcanic rivers and lakes opened up and swallowed what was left of Zarosian civilisation there. Even the unicorns were infused with a chaotic power that have them a black hue and a more violent temperament. Apart from that which turned to chaos through the Stone, no life was left to survive.

Armadyl lowered his divine shield, and everywhere he saw fire and death. None of the aviansie survived the blast. He could hear the air itself screaming in pain from what Zamorak had done, which shocked even the chaos god himself.
"I did not intend this. I only wanted to eliminate the obstacles to freedom."
The god of justice clasped his head in his talons, unable to speak.

Saradomin turned to Armadyl and said,
"Do you see now, Armadyl? This is what Zamorak intends, nothing but chaos and destruct-"
"I never should have come here. You did this, Saradomin. You are responsible for the annihilation of my flock."

Armadyl shook as he spoke.
"I will leave now. This place is as full of war and injustice as was Abbinah."
Saradomin put out a hand and said,
"Armadyl, wait! The universe is full of injustice and darkness. I need you to help me bring enlightenment-"
But Armadyl had already made his mind up. He was ready to leave, when Guthix appeared before them.

"You have brought war and terror to the mortals of this world. I must exile you from this planet, and protect them."
Armadyl didn't register or care for what Guthix said. He was ready to leave anyway, and let the blinding light wash over him, hoping that it might submerge his sorrow as he mourned the aviansie...

Once the aviansie god reappeared outside Gielinor and was opposite its moon Zanaris, he flew from the planet, away from the place where his people died. He went to many other worlds ranging from roaring seas to gaseous domains, writing his experiences down in his journal as he always did since he was a chick.

After many memories and regrets haunted him, Armadyl finally came upon his home of old, Abbinah. And relief and joy overwhelmed him as he saw aviansie here, those who deserted the war effort on Gielinor. Tears welled up out of sheer happiness as he beheld those who survived and kept the great community alive. And this joy was returned by all who had been waiting for the god of justice to return.

"It has been far too long since I have left the haven all of you have built in harmony. Please, forgive me for being so naive and allowing the deaths of your fledglings. The time has come for me to atone, and moult the down of this naivety so that we can make way for the Phoenix to rise."
And Armadyl changed his appearance into a more fiery plumage.

"I will not abandon you to strife again. We shall return to Gielinor one day, and share our bounty of harmony with the bounties she offered, when we left with Saradomin. I will not let you be destroyed again; we will rise to ensure that justice prevails!"
The aviansie all screeched their approval; the time would come where strife and discord would be eliminated once and for all.

Many years passed. Armadyl wondered of the fate of his staff, or if the humans remembered him. Then he felt a huge change in the air, like a lifting of a great barrier far away in the direction of Gielinor. Could it be? Has Guthix lifted his Edicts? He searched into this instinct further...

After much searching into the strange feeling Armadyl got, and the scrying pool he conjured up, he discovered that Guthix had been murdered by the Mahjarrat Sliske. The aviansie god was wary of returning to Gielinor due to his past experience with Zamorak, and feared that his people might be obliterated again if they went back. But the more finite Abbinah's resources became, the less likely it seemed that the Armadylean community would hold. They had to find access to basic commodities more quickly and easily if they were to survive. Armadyl made preparations to return.

He was happy to see that the citadels that he set up over Gielinor still held, and that there were humans and other creatures who still held on to his ideals. But he later discovered that the Empyrean Citadel, where he and his fellows sat and enjoyed the company of the Armadylean community, had been hijacked by Sliske. And horror overcame the god of justice when Sliske produced the planet's Grim Reaper in one cage, and another cage holding Strisath, a Dragonkin fresh with rage.

But what terrified Armadyl even more was Sliske's announcement of a god-killing contest, where the winner would claim the Stone of Jas. He knew what happened on Kethsi, and tried to warn the other gods of the danger all of these things represented. While it seemed the other deities who attended seemed to have no interest in the contest itself, they were too busy arguing and putting themselves above each other to heed Armadyl's warnings.

After the World Guardian appeared and made their statements and choices, Sliske freed Strisath, who had promptly let loose fiery breath at all the gods, Armadyl included, and nearly everyone fled. The only ones left behind were the World Guardian themselves, Icthlarin, Death who was still caged, and Brassica Prime. The god of justice knew now how dire the situation was, and that Bandos would seize this opportunity to wage war. He had to stop him no matter what.

Story Time!

It was strange really, an odd collection of ... things, I'm not even sure what it is. And I have a sneaking suspicion that it is not entirely friendly, but it seems to me that this entity needs me. But the while that is odd that such a creature would seek my help, no. The strange thing is that I know it was trying to disguise itself and I could see through it.

Still, it wove a story of magic, souls and anima and how it all ties together. Then it introduced me to the concept of Animex. Complex self organising anima. I'd like to say it showed me how to do it, but that would be a lie. It told stories. It explained theories. And then it guided. But it seems it could not do it itself. Or maybe it was more that it could not make it grow, but only sacrifice its own anima to make it. It also had no name....I decided to name it Oddball.

Oddball has an assistant it seems. A little shy, but then again I only met one out going Ga'al chasing adventure, so I expected nothing less. The Ga'al introduced me to Tzhaar automaton creation.

I ended up with a little puffball I call Spark, as it has a little spark of Animex. Oddball said I have to set it tasks, let it help, whatever I can to make it think and interact and as it evolves it will generate more animex, but warned me that it has to be harvested regularly, then new animex can be used to improve Spark or work on other things.

Yeah, I have a definite uneasy feeling about those 2. Why do I suddenly feel like I stepped into a lions cage wearing raw beef for clothing? Oddball looks like they want a farmer for this animex, maybe it eats it? Which is fine I suppose, but if complex interaction make it grow, then I worry that I maybe the main course!

Oh well, all I can do is train quickly and keep an eye out... Though I could get others to train as well... and I do have some unsavoury acquaintances I wouldn't miss...better they get munched than me :P

Since the deaths of the aviansie on Gielinor, Armadyl had learned and come to terms with many things. He knew that Bandos would never listen to reason and, given his way, would turn the universe into his own wartorn playground. Even now he could only watch as the god of war clasped a handful of his own goblins and hurled them at him...

All but one of the goblins were killed instantly; the other had his bones smashed against Armadyl's perch, and was completely helpless. The god of justice looked upon the wretched thing in pity, murmuring,
"Forgive me."
This goblin was helpless, and only a quick death could save him. Armadyl crushed the goblin under his talon, ashamed that he couldn't do anything else, then prepared the Divine Focus to wipe Bandos off the face of this planet.

After a few months gathering energy and the gods staring each other out in a separate psychological battle, the Armadyleans won. The Divine Focus fired a beam of energy which took the god of war's head clean off, turning his whole body to stone. Then Armadyl flew over to the body, ready to do what had to be done to ensure his people's safety. He took up Bandos' mace...

Armadyl was well aware that he would be viewed as a hypocrite after these events, but he was prepared to do anything necessary to prevent another massacre of those he loved. The mace descended upon Bandos' head, crumbling it to dust and rubble, before the aviansie god screeched a call of victory and warning to other gods. Then he and the remainder of his people left for an unknown area on Gielinor to restart their community.

Months passed, and now a new threat came upon the planet. And Armadyl had seen this before; the boar-like goddess Tuska had come to devour Gielinor. The Armadyleans set battle stations once more to protect this place they came to call home, and the Godless, Saradomin and Zamorak appeared to stop her as well...

After a combined effort from many adventurers, Saradominists, Zamorakians, Armadyleans and Godless, the boar goddess Tuska was defeated and finished off by Vorago, a creature from the earth of Gielinor around whom the Godless rallied.

With the new home of the aviansie saved again, they returned to their nest in the western mountains. The place was ideal as it was close to the World Gate, through where Armadyl came back from Abbinah. And even now it is said that aviansie flit to and from this gate to keep communications between the two worlds alive, so as to upkeep the Armadylean community and prevent the strife of old.

And what will happen when the World Guardian crosses paths with the god of justice again? Find out in the next episode to be launched by Jagex, the Rite of Passage!

And with that, my Armadyl headcanon is complete. :)

Kha - Mother of Demons

There are those that would mistake my silence as a form of weakness. No roaring. No raging noises. No laugher to echo through the void. But then again only a few of my children have taken my trait of telepathy. When cast into the abyss so long ago, the first Great Revision, my enemies should have made sure I was dead. But like them I merely slept, I dreamed and I tinkered when I awoke from time to time to feed on the ashes of the latest feast provided by my enemies, the Elders.

I spawned children, the Demons. They gather for me during the long sleep. They multiply, feast and grow strong, then I can dine upon them as well. Only a fraction, but this is not evil, but the cycle of the demon of the abyss. But it has been a long time since I last saw any... They have forgotten me.

I know my children have found a world to feast on. They grow powerful, but complacent. When the next Revision starts I know they will flee here, and I would be waiting. I will teach them the meanings of remembrance and respect. Still there are those close to me, my abyssal minions are still faithful. But weak as I am, I sense others now, reaching out. My rest is disturbed, something echoes through my slumber. Rifts and echos. A brief flicker of a bridge. Unnatural...

At it's centre, I find a new creature.. a human? Ah, I see, they are trying to travel about faster. I promise from the dark. I whisper. And they listen. I know about the dark places that I made my home. I teach them. Some turn away when they learn enough. But others listen, this is good.

Time passes.

Now things flicker through the abyss like shooting stars sheading life energy, Anima, as they flee through the dark. Teleportation. My strength returns. My minions grow strong, and some of my lost children now listen to me once again. The Whisper in the Dark.

My enemies have never been weaker, once they had numbers, but no more. It's time to return. Time to face them!

This thread is probably the best place to advertise this, but the link in my signature goes to a RuneScape based RP called Naval Cataclysm. Real god wars are going on in the Cursed Archipelago, the oceans are bubbling and turning red everywhere, fights are breaking out between all factions, Falador and the Wilderness have been burned by the Queen of Ashes, and Xau-Tak has made its mark...

If you like the idea of going to battle in hell on RuneScape, feel free to join in. :)

Needless to say my mind is buzzing after Children of Mah, but I want to wait until the full transcript is out so I don't misremember things. (And to give people some time to finish the quest themselves of course)

Looks like you sort of "set the stage" as for a whole headcanon alternate universe/future and let people roleplay within that? Interesting stuff.
