Ooh, content headcanon, that's a new one! What better way to get the godless taken seriously than them acquiring an elder artifact of their very own? "The Eye", I like it.

Armadyl: A God of Justice Shaped by Strife

Abbinah was a tough place to live, as islands floated and separated from each other, water could only be found at the planet's core, and its inhabitants, the aviansie, constantly fought each other for basic survival. Be it food, water, basic shelter, or having a family of their own, the aviansie were forced to fight by nature. Some of the chicks were left alone in their nests after their parents were slaughtered. This happened to the then-future god of the aviansie, Armadyl.

It was a long time before he ascended to godhood, and in the time between his adulthood and ascension, the mortal Armadyl had witnessed many terrible things among his kind. Some of them drowned in the watery core of Abbinah, some writhed in starvation as others killed each other over scraps of food and other resources that grew more finite over time, some succumbed to injury even as they were returning to their families with food (which was then fought over by other desperate aviansie), and even chicks had been killed. Even Armadyl himself had to struggle to survive in this harsh place, and in the end he had enough of having to fight to survive. Abbinah needed proper policing before the aviansie would truly be able to survive.

One day, the young Armadyl was stranded on an island alone. He was on the verge of death, peppered by javelins and left there without any food, and far above the core which provided water. He looked down, and everywhere he saw his people killing each other and dying from hunger or thirst. Couples were torn apart by the ravaging of desperation, and chicks were abandoned. He grasped his head in his taloned wings, hope falling away like feathers...

And then Saradomin appeared, his blue human form enveloped in blinding light.

Saradomin brought to Armadyl the Siphon, and used his Crown to grant him power. It was from that moment on that the young aviansie became a god, and together they brought peace and harmony to his race. The fighting stopped, Saradomin introduced more food to all the islands which had become rationed properly, the aviansie took turns to gather water for themselves and their families, and harmony reigned the once harsh Abbinah.

Saradomin then told Armadyl of a world known as Gielinor, where he had a following of his own. He also told him of the Empty Lord Zaros, and that soon one of his generals would betray him. He asked of the newly ascended God of Justice to come with him when that time came, so that he may hide the Staff of Armadyl in a safe place there. And with that Saradomin cloaked himself in a radiant light, and vanished, leaving Armadyl and the aviansie to enjoy the fruits of peace and justice.

After that incident, Armadyl saw the neighbouring planet known as Kethsi become engulfed in fire and destruction. He grasped his staff and sensed that there was an extremely powerful Elder Artefact on there, a stone. And he noticed that whenever the Stone was being used, the destruction would increase further. He created a scrying pool and looked closer at the events going on there...

The people of Kethsi, very tall humanoids, had been using what they called the Stone of Jas to grant themselves great power and benefit their people. But extremely powerful reptilian creatures known as the Dragonkin came and razed the planet, and their power and fury increased every time the Stone was used.

Eventually, Kethsi was completely decimated. Armadyl now knew what this Stone was, and he had to warn Saradomin of the danger it represented...

A few centuries later, the aviansie continued to flourish under the community established by Saradomin and Armadyl. Although growing up as a chick continued to have its difficulties, aviansie couples stayed together for life and were excellent parents, even back in the time when Abbinah was rife with squabbles over commodities. As for the adults, the community encouraged them to be understanding of one another's plights. Even if it meant one of the flock lost its way, the rest would always get them back to peace. And every single aviansie was grateful to Armadyl for not only ensuring their survival in what was once a harsh place, but also introducing cooperation and mutual respect which allowed them to retain this community.

They also thought highly of Saradomin, who had started off the events that led to this new golden era. The entire flock was safe as long as they had each other and a law to protect them. And any disputes or uncertainties were quickly reassured by the rest of the flock. Perhaps this was something Saradomin had learned long ago, even when he ascended? Then all of a sudden, Saradomin appeared before Armadyl to bring him news and a request.

"The Empty Lord, Zaros, has been killed by his trusted general, Zamorak. And now he has departed from Gielinor. Armadyl, this is the time to bring light to the world there. Will you come with me to vanquish the remaining shadows that continue to haunt that place?"

"Saradomin, there is something I must tell you. The Stone of Jas, it -"

"I know, Armadyl. I myself possess an artefact that can detect the planets where others lie. And I have made plans to find it and use its power to ensure that our people can be protected."

The aviansie god was unsure of this, but he went along with what Saradomin said anyway. If this Gielinor has more easily accessible facilities, the aviansie could survive easier there once the darkness left the place.

So, after a lively discussion on the possibilities of a Morytania Tale/Miniquest to tie up Myreque loose ends, I ended up returning to the decaying tome (found in the tomb beneath Burgh de Rott) and filling it in with my own silly words.

My headcanon is that Vanstrom was actually working with the Splinter group - that he had planned to assassinate Lowerniel and thrust Morytania into all-out war. As a figure abandoned by the Icyene and betrayed by the vyres, I think he'd have plenty of resentment to go around.

I like to imagine that he was initially turned into a juvinate, but still resisted the vyre mindset heavily. Drakan interred him into his crypt some time in the 3rd Age to await a full transformation. I approached the decaying tome's first entry as a piece capturing his despair and brokenness, on the edge of succumbing to vyre bloodlust. I took the second as a warped vision of vengeance, written without knowledge of how the world had changed or how infeasible his scheme was. While he's become a vastly darker, more vindictive figure, he doesn't realize it.

Also, for the purposes of this text, I'm assuming that the Stone of Jas switched hands between Saradomin and Zamorak several times, rather than just Zams-Sara-Zams.

I had believed I could resist the corruption. Even as my hands twisted into claws, my face morphed into a hideous visage, I might serve the army of the faithful from within the kingdom of darkness. I remember when Lord Drakan showed me the treasure he kept for Zamorak, a power that could move mountains and span the universe. When the forces of Saradomin stole it back again, turned Zamorak's boon into his bane, I thought my salvation was nigh. But now I know that all light has fled this place, and the shreds of sanity that clothe my soul grow more threadbare day by day.

With Efaritay gone I am weak. My fellow soldiers of Order no longer recognize me as anything more than a monster, and now they are spread and sparse.
Vampyrium, where Drakan pilloried my love, is lost to me. I am much too weak to enter. I still sense it, Zamorak’s bane. It must be mine.
The Icyene have forgotten their Queen, and abandoned me. I must rest now, for the sake of my family. Until I can find a way back to her. Until I recover.

__________________________

I do not know how long I have slept, but I feel my powers rebuilt and my wounds healed.
The darkness consumes me and gives me life once more. I must find Zamorak's portal and re-open it. Only on Vampyrium can I recover my forces and bring back my brothers and sisters. I will retake these lands.

Drakan imprisoned Efaritay and the others beyond our reach because he feared them. They were the ones who could destroy him. With my allies vampyrized, we will sweep over Morytania and purge it of the plague of vyres and humans. The generals of Saradomin abandoned me. The vyres betrayed me. I will settle my debts.

Ritual of the Mahjarbrats

No one saw it coming.

A secret kept hidden from all but a few. Some would say it explained Zamorak's less than tactical approach these days, instead of what he was renowned for in the past. I have no idea what a god needs in place of sleep, but whatever it is he needed more of it. A lot more.

A good front had been kept up and nothing unusual had been seen to have happened. Zamorak did whatever it is he does, Moia did her generalling and everyone else was up to their nefarious deeds. Yet if you looked carefully over time one of them would always be missing, Zamorak more than most and Moia would be in a waspish mood for seemingly no reason at times. And this has been going on for a number of years now.

It was on such a day that Moia found Bilrach goofing off from his assigned task and she decided to help him back to his post in the next room by the most direct route. It probably would have helped if she'd opened the door first, then again the door was off to the side of her aim anyway. And a Mahjarrat can make a formidable projectile.

Bilrach shook off the dust and rubble, turning on her in anger. But it quickly died as power slammed him into the opposite wall and pinned him there like a bug. Moia stalked towards him in an incandescent rage, a blast of power punctuating each word. "WHERE. ARE. THEY!"

Bilrach looked about the room wide eyed. "Damn. I only took my eyes off of them for a minuet!"

Some where in Misthalin the pitter patter of adventurous feet was searching for the legendary Easter Bunny, who seemd to have trouble with keeping ethier chocolaty goodness safe.

Every Single Year.

And to add insult to injury, not once had the Bunny visited them. So this year they decided to fix the problem themselves. But it required a few items to make it work first

The first thing on the list came a surprise to the Duke of Lumbridge, when his Kharidian silk bright blue onesies went missing.

The King's clothes has all turned blue and all his socks were missing. As was the secret stashes of Gnome fudge his wife was always criticising him for eating. He would have been angry but as his beloved didn't find any after investigating his outraged cry, he decided that a few blue clothes were a small price to pay.

Doric and Sir Tiffy were both left baffled when they finished having tea together and found the lining for their helmets both missing. Doric found some lemon drop sweets had been left behind. Most were sweet but a few were super sour. After a few facial contortions. They both shrugged and grabbed another lemon drop.

Aggy the witch was left looking for her favourite book. Well it did turn up a week later, so all's well that ends well?

Wizard Mizog's beads are missing again, this time with not an imp in sight.

Farmer Fred's chicken turned every colour of the rainbow, so did their eggs... He had some strangely coloured omelettes that night!

Lastly on the list...Well someone was very surprised as feet stealthily beat a retreat with some of their beard. Still the bottle of 'conditioner' had made his beard wonderfully soft and regal looking, so Saradomin shrugged off the mischief and went back to more important things.

With everything gathered, 2 Easter Bunnies with glowing tails crept into Lumbridge crater and started chanting and dancing around the hole in the middle while throwing things in.

A pulse. A rumble. And something jetted into the air from the crater. It started slowly all over Misthalin. A soft thud as something small landed. One landed at a panicked Easter Bunny's feet. He'd been desperately trying to save Easter but hadn't found anyone to help this year. They picked one up. It couldn't be!

But strangely coloured clouds roiled over head, then a few more thuds joined the first in an increasing pattern. Lightening rent the sky and thunder cut the air with fierce roar and people ran for cover. And the skys opened.

A deluge fell from above. But not rain. Mini Chocolate eggs. By the time it was over they blanketed areas like snow. The Easter Bunny frantically scooped some up in a basket and rushed out to deliver them.

In a long life it's not often you get new experiences or something so unusual, so a few gods witnessed the chocolate rain. They saw the 2 children, seemingly Mahjarrat in origin, perform their ritual at Lumbridge. They saw Saradomin and a harassed Zamorak stare at each from across the crater, like they had years ago.

Zamorak swept the children up with a quick motion and they made a disappointed sound. "Come now Zamorak," Saradomin said in a mocking tone," all that hard work and you won't even let them claim their reward?" With a quick flick of his wrist a baskets appeared in each of their hands much to their joy. They teleport away as Saradomin watched, while the children were blameless, he still hadn't done it out of the goodness of his heart. He could see those 2 brats were going to driven him nuts. Which was good enough :P

And with Easter saved for another year, so concluded the Ritual of the Mahjarbrats!

Once Armadyl arrived at Gielinor, he came to an island of monks praying peacefully to their god Saradomin. There were no weapons, and there was no strife. The monks were cheerful, and cooperated in harmony, all as Saradomin said he advocated. Armadyl was convinced; Gielinor would be the aviansie's new home. Then Saradomin said to him,
"Come, Armadyl. There is more to see on this world."

The two gods left the island known as Entrana, and when they reappeared on another spot at the foot of an ice-tipped mountain, Armadyl saw towering spires glowing with strange energy, and he asked Saradomin,
"Is this your nest?"
The god of wisdom turned to the ascended aviansie and replied in a sorrowful tone,
"This is the empire of the dreaded Empty Lord, Zaros. His followers did terrible things in pursuit of power, and justice had to come to them. Look."
And he pointed to the east, where a huge city was being stormed by legions of soldiers.
"I have temporarily allied myself with Zamorak, the general to Zaros' armies. He told me of how he and others were discontent with the Empty Lord's rule, and offered assistance in bringing the empire down. Many of his personal guard and soldiers, along with my own army, are currently storming what is left of the Zarosian Empire, and will bring light to the great shadow there. Only when it is finished can I bring true peace to this world. Will you help me with this, Armadyl?"

Armadyl hesitated due to seeing thousands being slaughtered in this storming of the city, then asked Saradomin,
"Is there no other way to stop the bloodshed?"
The god of wisdom shook his head, and then told the aviansie god,
"The Staff you used is here, as is the Stone. They must be protected from those who would use their power for evil."
The two gods vanished from the foot of the mountain, heading to the great city of Senntisten.
