They scream in unison, and unleash their energy outward, wiping out life as the very fabric of the universe is ripped apart - the life of every being ceasing to exist as the universe darkens and goes silent. It is like her soul is being pulled apart in a million different directions; the pain is unbearable, and the World Guardian prays for death, anything to end this agony, before a surge of energy flows through her, and she too, is claimed by the darkness.

But still the sort of ending I will try my best to avoid.

"We are here, World Guardian, The Elder Halls." said Zaros. "It's beautiful." I said, looking at the cavern glistening with gemstones, the very walls pulsing with veins of a green liquid, like a giant heart beating. "Yes, it is, but you know the plan. This place must be destroyed to awaken the elder gods. If we do not, the eggs shall hatch and devour all." "I'm ready" I said, channeling my power into his. The resulting explosion left us both unharmed, but the walls bled, and the world itself cried out with pain.

And the elder gods woke.

The tremors could be felt by every living thing on the planet, from the distant wilderness all the way to Ashdale. Entire mountains simply got up and walked away, all headed towards the sound of the scream. "World Guardian, I hope you realize that, in my weakened state, I will not be able to negotiate with the elder gods. The young gods will no doubt also arrive soon to investigate. It is up to you to face them."

" Damn that misclick. " I muttered under my breath.

Haha thanks. There's actually quite a lot more I have planned dealing with the aftermath of what happened with Sliske and the World Guardian, as this is just the first chapter, but the rest will probably go on a separate thread.

But yeah if the world gets nuked it's all Zaros' fault lul.

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts exactly.

Nice job, btw. My one criticism, though, is that the World Guardian seemed more like a witness to the events rather than a factor playing in them, when it should be the other way around. Still, just my opinion, and what you did does make sense because if Zaros couldn't do squat to the Elder Gods (which he can't ), then pretty much everyone will, at that point, be going "We lose."

His Final Days

I have lost.

The enemies are too numerous, as the mortal races flock to the honeyed words of that hypocrite Armadyl, he even finds that his precious avianse have returned from his homeworld! I look to my world. I see a failure. Continents of ash and bone from burning farms and villages. Skies of smog from the roaring war machines ages past. I call to my... home ...for reinforcements, and it is silent.

It was Guthix. That day he came to me and demanded I leave my followers, my PROPERTY, to live in peace under his protection! I saw what came of this, but was powerless to stop it. My orks driven from this world, my ogres growing lazy in their spas instead of taking Yanielle for themselves, and worst of all, my goblins.

My goblins on the surface recklessly fought each other, time and time again. With no commander to guide them to their enemies, the tribes would soon slaughter each other. My goblins below the ground hid from the very notion of war, no doubt being manipulated by that serpent of Guthix to turn from me.

Guthix made them turn on me, and corrupted all the races of Gielinor with the talks of peace that Armadyl now parrots to his followers as he sends them off to die.

I know I am beaten, but I shall not back down. I will not give them the pleasure. The irony is not lost on me that the god of war has been defeated by peace.

(editing notes, think of it like developer commentary. I'm well aware Juna never actually encouraged the cave goblins to rebel, but Bandos is looking for someone to blame. I also managed to fit not one but two bird puns in there relating to Armadyl. I might add more to this, but for now I'm satisfied.)

A guardian's fall

The world guardian surveyed the scene before him. Bandos lay dead, decapitated by none other than Armadyl himself, who had managed to drain the gods essence and left after noticing the guardian. The world guardian sighed, disgusted at the sight, wondering if there was any need to decapitate the fallen god. He wished there was something he could do to end the silly little game Sliske started,it was turning gods against their own beleifs!

8 weeks later

The world guardian had recieved summons from Azzandra. He hurriedly made his way the location he was due to meet, due west of Ardougne. He helped Azzandra bring Zaros back. After the followers were given their orders, the guardian went to Zaros's memory chamber and conversed with him. "Zaros, this game of Sliskes, its going to innoents, surely you can stop it?" The guardian pleaded. "No, my main focus is the revision,I care not for the petty gods squabbling" The guardian sighed, and asked what he really came to ask "Is there any way I can ascend?"

"Yes,it is possible. But..it is not possible..for now. You see, the gift you told me about, will provide vital for stopping the elders. Stopping the elders, causes the gift to leave you" Zaros explained,in a slight kind voice
The world guardian was astounded, had Guthix known all along? The guardian nodded and recieved his instructions,to find and locate the elder halls with Azzandra.

It took him a year to locate the elder halls, the desert is huge after all,but when they were find,Zaros was alerted. They traveled into the halls and went searching for the anima sour*. Once it was found,Zaros,Azzandra and the guardian attempted to try and poison it. But,their actions had barely started when the eggs began to hatch, the elder goddesses had woken to defend the anima! They merely looked at the visitors, and fired a single ball of energy, engulfing them all, the last thing The guardian saw,was Zaros beginning to fade away..

Cont. from page 29/30.~

After the meeting in Iorwerths tent came to a close, Lord Xendiu, General of the Warfront, decided to pay respects to his old childhood friend Erheian, who was recently promoted to Commander. On his way, he met Head Mourner Erisday, who casually asked him where he hurrying off to at such an hour. When Erisday heard his purpose, he sighed heavily and said:

"Have you not heard, General? Lieutenant Erheian has fell ill, and has not left his tent since the morning. There are rumors that the doctors do not know what to make of it, and they say that he will not live for much longer."

Alarmed at this development, Xendiu thanked Erisday, and quickly parted ways to find the Lieutenants tent. It way past midnight, and most of the troops had retired to their tents. It was still dreadfully hot, and there was no sound besides the occasional passing grenwall.

There were two guards situated outside of Erheian's tent. Seeing the Commanding General, the two exchanged glances, but solemnly allowed him into the tent. There Xendiu found Erheian lying on his feather-bed, and reading The Settlement of the East . Xendiu noticed the blanket was stained with blood.

"Xendiu!" exclaimed Erheian in surprise. "I did not expect to see you so soon. I did not want you to see me in this state, and therefore refrained from telling you. I hope you understand"

The Commanding General nodded, and Erheian motioned his servant Emil to find Xendiu a seat and pour him some wine. "How long have you been in this state, brother?" asked Xendiu. "It has been ten days." replied Erheian. "Ten days! Why have you not told anyone of this sooner? You would not have been required to accompany Iban in such a state." Erheian laughed weakly and replied, "They say I will not live much longer. I did not want people to say that the warrior Erheian had only been promoted because they thought he would die soon anyway

“In truth, I was greatly weakened during Iban’s escort. I waited for an opportunity, and excused myself without arousing suspicion. Morv naturally took my place."

Xendiu’s face greatly darkened as he heard this news from his friend. A short pause ensued. "He's a fine warrior, and an excellent commander. Far superior to others of higher rank." Xendiu replied awkwardly, his eye's distant. Erheian smiled weakly at his old friends social ineptness. "Enough about me." he said, "Tell me about the meeting, brother."

Emil poured Xendiu some wine, and the General thanked him as he drank some. He recollected himself and began: "I have complete faith in our success. Our strategy is sound, and we have not been scarce in our use of tactics. However, there are two things on my mind that have been troubling me to no end." "What are they?" asked Erheian. "Perhaps I can give you some advice."

Xendiu cleared his throat. "First is the matter of Tyras' army. We surmised that they would have joined the rebels in Lletya by now, but reports from earlier today indicate that they are still behind, and will catch up to us by tomorrow night. They are a thousand strong, and we believe that battle is inevitable. Some of the council members - myself included- have suggested that it may be a trap of sorts, but Iorwerth seems not to be convinced.

"The second matter is something I am greatly more concerned with. I have spoken with the diviners recently, after hearing some unsettling reports from the south. They say that a great fog that will last many days is about to engulf Tirannwn. In principle, this fog is to our advantage. However; the fog will cause the rebels to fear for the gates, and send out their armies further west. Due to the unusual nature of our operation, you can understand how this poses a serious problem."

Erheian listened intently to his old friends words. "I understand." he said, and immediately fell into deep thought. After some moments, he said, "You do not have two problems in my eyes, but rather two solutions. With one, you can rectify the other, and I believe I have the perfect plan to do just so.”

“I would be eternally grateful,” Xendiu said, relieved, “for you would have put my mind to ease. What is your advice on these matters?”

“First,” Erheian began, “you will enter a temporary truce with Tyras’ army, so that the possibility of a trap can be avoided. Next, you will send a competent adviser to Arianwyn under the pretense of defection. The adviser will gain Arianwyn's trust, and convince him to be on the defensive until Tyras' army comes from the west, effectively surrounding us."

Xendiu was elated. "I believe that this plan might work. With our pawn and foreknowledge, such a predicament would not be a problem for us, and would keep the rebels behind the walls. Who do you suggest to go on this mission?"

"I would like to volunteer myself" Erhein replied. Emil looked surprised at his master’s words. "There is not much I can do here in this state. Furthermore, my mother was a Cadarn. This would make my defection more believable."

"Are you sure you wish to do this, brother?" Xendiu asked. "I worry for your condition." Erheian smiled. "The battle is in a day and a half. For this plan to succeed, the defector would have to use one of the few Lletyan crystals we have, so I wouldn't have to walk far. I also plan to use my health as an excuse for defection, claiming that someone had attempted to poison me because of my Cadarn lineage."
