"That sounds like fun! Will all the other gods be there?" Marimbo asked excitedly.

"Many of them will make an appearance, but I fear that a few might not be able to show up. I have a little game planned, though, that should be very fun for us all," Sliske explained. "Would you mind assisting me with it?"

"Sure, anything to help. What do you need me to do?" Marimbo asked.

"Come with me," Sliske grinned as he teleported the two of them to the banana plantation deep below the city. Bonzara, one of Marimbo's most devoted disciples, was surprised to see them there.

"Who is this, great Marimbo? And why aren't you still partying?" Bonzara asked.

"This is Sliske, my honored guest. He has a surprise for me, it seems," Marimbo smiled.

"Why don't you take a look at what your statue is holding?" Sliske said with a great grin.

Marimbo looked up and let out a gasp, followed by great, booming laughter. On top of the upward-facing hands of her statue in the center of the plantation sat the Stone of Jas.

"What is the meaning of this, Sliske?" Marimbo asked, still laughing at its absurdity.

"Well, I promised the other gods that one of them could win this at the Eclipse party. I figure this would be a nice place to safely store it until then," Sliske returned the laughter.

In truth, he felt bad for the monkey goddess. The others never really paid her much attention, but Sliske was fond of her carefree lifestyle. Since he knew that the other gods would be too busy with each other to look here, below Marimbo's island, he knew that it'd be safe to keep the Stone of Jas there. Besides, he wanted to humor the goddess and get her involved in his games.

"It fits my statue well. Do you promise that there won't be any angry Dragonkin attacking my island?" Marimbo asked.

"Of course. Try not to use it too much, huh?" Sliske smirked. "I'll talk to you again before the eclipse, to make further plans."

He faded away into the Shadow Realm, pleased with his work.

Here's a story of mine I wrote and posted on the Stories forum back in January of 2011.

Angel

‘There was nothing you could have done,’ she said gently.
I looked at her and my heart softened.
I shook my head. ‘No… I failed the Great Lord. I should have been there… What use am I to him as a warrior, if…’
She softly stroked my cheek, wiping away the angry tears. Her touch made everything better.
‘The Lord may have fallen, but we, his faithful, still stand,’ she said. ‘We must be strong… Too much depends upon us.’
I nodded slowly and gazed into her eyes. She was an angel – So beautiful, yet so strong…
‘You must go now,' she said softly.
‘I don’t want to leave you,’ I said.
She tilted her head and surveyed me, a sweet, sad expression upon her face.
‘If there is anyone who can re-establish contact with the Lord, it is you, Azzanadra,’ she said.
It pained me to admit it, but I knew she was correct. I stepped away and moved towards the doorway, but as I did so, I looked back at her one final time.
I felt my heart splinter as I spoke. ‘Farewell, Nex… My love.’
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

"Oh yes, I remember hearing about your 'Ascendancy' thing, but I didn't realize it was today," Marimbo nodded, satisfied with the explanation. "How'd it go?"

"Well, the place was pretty trashed by the end," Sliske said.

"Sounds like a good party!" Marimbo laughed.

You're amazing.

That is really hard to picture after seeing the way she acts in The World Wakes.

"Angel"

'This is all your fault.' she growled.
I looked into her hate-filled, draconic eyes, and my heart softened.
I shook my head. 'Perhaps it is. I should have been there. I have failed...'
She gave me a slap, leaving deep claw marks in the bone of my skull. I love when she does that.
'Get over yourself. The Lord may have fallen, but we, his faithful, still stand,’ she said. ‘We must be strong… Too much depends upon us.’
I nodded slowly and gazed into her fearsome, green eyes. She was a devil. So beautiful, yet so strong.
‘Cease staring at my breastplate at once!,' she snapped, aiming the spine of her wing at my throat.
‘I don’t want to leave you,’ I said.
She leaned towards me, as if for a kiss, but flashed her multiple sets of poisonous fangs, her patience running thin.
‘Focus on the task at hand, whelp. If there is anyone who can re-establish contact with the Lord, it is you, Azzanadra,’ she said.
It pained me to admit it, but I knew she was correct. I stepped away and moved towards the doorway, but as I did so, I looked back at her one final time.

"Armadyl represents a belief that all gods and mortals can live in peace. Our tribe has experienced the consequences of in-fighting and we strive to bring peace to others."

~Taka’ra, Head Warmage of Armadyl

Q: The Armadylean head warmage looks a lot different to the rest. Is he from a different breed of aviansie?

Mod Moltare: Yes, although the Aviansie consider it bad manners to point out physical differences between themselves.

~ The Bird and the Beast FAQ

Based on this evidence, I therefore propose that the “in-fighting” which Taka’ra refers to was a series of race wars, and it is only through extreme political correctness that they avoid another civil war.

The Raptor approached the Divine Being floating at Freneskae's peak.
"What bring you here, and what do you seek?" Asked The Empty Lord.
The Raptor smiled, and slowly took of his helm. At that moment The Empty Lord understood. He beckoned over to trusted adviser, Azzanadra, and asked:
"This man seeks to overturn me. What should we do?"
Azzanadra looked concerned. "He is a of a very dangerous sort. We cannot wait for the World Guardian to return to us, and it would be dangerous for you to engage in battle in your state. Please, allow me to take care of this one."
The Raptors replied to this by unsheathing his sword, but after many silent moments, the Empty Lord shook his head.
"I cannot allow you to do anything of the sort, my dear Azzanadra. This man I must defeat with my own hands alone. Many a cabbage have fallen to his treachery."
"Ah, so it fights for once. A coward I thought it was." replied the Raptor.
"I do not bathe in the blood of Naragi children" Zaros replied.
Smurfadomn and Zaros plunged thousands of feet into the air, and clashed their swords in battle.
A thousand lights flashed in the air when the alarms set of, as the top third of Mount Thok rained upon the world. The armies of Zaros and Smurfadomin emerged from the World Gate, and battled ferociously as the two Gods clashed in the air. For many hours, the battle in the Heavens and the Earth raged on evenly. It was not until the armies of Nex emerged, that the battle tipped slowly to Zaros' favor. However, things got complicated very quickly..
"Stop!" Cried Hans, as he held the knife closely to his hostages throat. For a moment Zaros shrieked, and Smurfadomin took advantage of this moment. He pinned Zaros against the mountain, and Zaros' forced froze in their tracks.
"Here are my demands!" shouted Hans, "I will release Azzanadra.. but first.. I must devour Zaros' soul!"

The people of both sides muttered to each other.. tension slowly built up, as Hans grinned and replied:
"I am an ELDER GOD!" he shouted, as he grew gigantic wings and flew up to the sky.
"And for me to rule over this planet, I will consume the being Zaros once and for all!.."
"But that doesn't make any.."
"Silence!" Hans cried, brushing Nex aside, dealing her an immense amount of damage.
The Zarosian army recollected themselves, and focused all their attention on attacking the Divine Divine Being, Hans. Hans did not flinch at all as the his enormous forcefield blocked all the attacks directed at him, and Smurfadomin came forward, with Zaros as his prisoner.
"You will do me a great favor" said Smurfadomin, "although I regret I could not have rid of him myself. It is a far crueler death, I suppose." Zaros did not say a word; it had seemed as if he had accepted this fate.
"Zaros!" cried Azzanadra, locked in a cage that conveniently randomly appeared. "You cannot let Hans devour your soul! Forget me; escape!"
"I can never forget you Azzanadra.. you are my closest friend." Zaros said.
Azzanadra cried.. "Zaros.. please.."
"This.. is my fate, Azzanadra. Farewell."
Azzanadra screamed in pain once more as the tears rolled down his cheeks.. all seemed lost.
But even in the darkest times, there is always a light. As Hans prepared to devour Zaros' soul, light emerged from the heavens.. a chariot appeared, the savior had come.
The light permeated throughout all the planet, and the Smurfadomin army disintegrated as the light touched upon their skin. Smurfadomin lost his posture for a moment, and with this opportunity, Zaros escaped his arm lock.
Hans the Elder God panicked as the savior of the day - Brassica Prime - came down from the heavens with the Cabbage of Jas. He tried to escape, but Brassica ate him. Smurfadomin tried to escape as well, but together with the freed Azzanadra, Zaros defeated Smurfadomin, and banished it to another realm.

"Thank you, Zaros.." Azzanadra said. Zaros put down the injurred Azzanadra on a nearby rock. They both cried together, and the Zarosian army cheered: a complete victory. Nex and Char (who wasn't even involved in the story, but k) came to Zaros, as he told them of the circumstances.
"I see" said Nex. "He will not live much longer.."
"He.. has decided" Zaros said. "He will become my host body. He.. will live on."
"We will be missed; a great general indeed" Char said.
Azzanadra looked up and said: "Please take over the universe, Zaros. Become Fate. That is my final wish." With red but composure, these were the last words of Azzanadra, the the most fashionable Mahjarrat in the galaxy, the most Wisest, and Great; the servant of The Empty Lord, and his closest friend. After many hours of solitude, as Humans and Mahjarrat alike celebrated the grand victory, Zaros, reborn in the body of Azzanadra made his appearance. This was the beginning of a new Age, an Age of Hope, an Age that began with this day..the day of Azzandramas.

The End.
