I went back and rewatched Rainy's playthrough of this quest on YouTube.
SLISKE IS TALKING TO SOMEONE OFF-CAMERA. He turns around JUST as the mysterious voice talks. So he's NOT talking to the Stone!

A theory or post was made about this and Mod Raven responded.. Here is the theory:
If you have completed the new and in my opinion well made quest (Although I wish it was a bit longer) "Kindred Spirits" [Spoilers ahead] you will have seen the cutscene where Sliske appears to be serving someone else, who is this figure? Is it Zaros? Is it another being we are yet to see? Is it Zamorak and has he switched sides? Has Sliske fallen in love with the player?
Is Sliske actually "Godless"? Is that being perhaps even Guthix?
So many questions... At least we have definitively answered the question "Is he a god yet?" (he isn't)
In my opinion I would say it is Zaros due their previous links, and previous quotes about everything Sliske does being for himself or Zaros.. But wasn't he effectively sent into exile from Zaros? Or is Zaros just as manipulative as he is, and trying to hide their allegiances from the player?
Also do you think as Guthan says Linza is ever retrievable? I have my doubts.
