From the February VIP Q&A:

Is there any conceivable situation in which Seren would work with Zaros?

Mod Osborne: Mah comes to mind. She's a primal force that would require both of them to stop, and they would likely be on the same side for that. Otherwise, they're somewhat opposed. One wants control, the other is disgusted by it.

I think we must expect Seren to appear.

That's been blatantly obvious since the start. :P

I just wanted to confirm it :)

That will be interesting to see.
Zaros and Seren in the same room, with their 'attraction' effect.

Even Seren without a reforged soul was luring Zaros back in TLW.
Yet the flashback moments later had the two bickering like an old married couple.

Has the their time apart made their presences more irresistibly tempting?

one thing I was wondering, since someone mentioned earlier the possibility of the mahjarrat being rejuvenated by a god sacrificed in a ritual, if that would work (since the gods and mahjarrat have much of the same energy) would sacrificing the muspah also work?

they're more cloesly related to the mahjarrat than gods are... and they're not exactly the mighmarish horrors wahi describes, they're quite weak actually

Wahi is ignorant and things Muspah don't exist. From what we've heard, it sounds like they're roughly equals to what the Mahjarrat were back in the day since they are looked at as formidable enemies. As to whether it would work...it's possible, albeit redundant since portals are a thing. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

It is best to have many plans in case of one failing.
NO
I do not ship ZamorakxZaros.
I follow them. And Marimbo, the best t5 god.

Game-play wise, we will be exploring new areas around the volcano, maybe further away.

So is it likely we will come across remnants of the Mahserrat civilisation?
Maybe even some dragon ore straight from the rocks?

It wouldn't need direct interaction with the quests goals, but it would make for some quality post-quest content.

From the May VIP Q&A:

The Mahjarrat came to Gielinor with Icthlarin, and the Chelon-Mah were finished off by Bilrach, but are there any more of the Mahserrat left on Freneskae?

Mod Osborne: Well, that would make a great story, wouldn't it?

Maybe they even are involved with FOTG2

portals seem a bit too overpowered to not have a pretty unfun side effect. If they worked all the time, they'd completely change the nature of the mahjarrat race

based on the fight with the muspah in fotg, theyre not individually that powerful, it's just that there are so many of them. I mean, not hordes and hordes, but probably more than a single average mahjarrat can handle. I feel like even the weakest mahjarrat wouldnt have much of a problem with a single muspah

wahi is most likely quite young compared to most of the other mahjarrat, and despite them seeming like best buddies, for whatever reason azzykins doesnt tell him a great deal. 'oh, hey, zaros is back, come celebrate with us'... is that so hard, azzanadra?
I can just imagine azzy laughing his head off that wahi still believes the muspah and mah and quite likely sliced bread aren't things that actually exist

You are so.... so.... argh! :@

Maybe Azzy just don't know where Wahisietel is, or doesn't have time to tell him Zaros is back, since he is tasked with finding the elder halls
