How Salt in the Wound sequel would start
Talk to Sir Tiffy
Player recounts the odd story, yet victory, over the Slug queen once again.
Sir Tiffy nods his head.
Eva and Kennith arrive.
They explain the "true" version of what happened.
The player is confused.
The Sir Tiffy admits a dark secret he's known from the beginning: you were infected with a baby slug back from the first Slug quest. And ... it's going to turn into the new Slug Queen.
*cutscene where you're knocked out and they begin to try to surgically and magically remove the slugling, but fail*

What a twist!

player: ...and then, with the help of your daughter, Kennith, and some guy who really likes tuna, we defeated the slug queen!
Sir Tiffy: Wait a second old chap, I don't have a daughter.
*a sea slug pulls itself from under your clothes and wriggles away into Falador*
player: Aww crap.
*You return to the sight of the "epic battle", and only find dozens of dead miners, as well as one very young child crushed under a pillar*
player: *commorb* Uhh, Tiffy, we have a problem!
Tiffy: Yes, puny human, you do.
Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

Worst: WGS. A tiny bit of story with mostly filler and padding.

Best: Either TWW or HC.

I'm kicking you on sight if I ever see you again.

Not for insulting me though. For clearly being a fan of WGS. Liking WGS makes you a bad person. This is an objective fact that you simply can't deny. Nobody is going to care if I ban you because they know that you probably beat up puppies in real life and hold orphans hostage in your basement.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

I'm pretty sure you're already aware that if you started kicking people who liked WGS, you'd be in an FC all by yourself.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

That's OK. I'm the only person in this community with a moral compass.

Small typo in your post. Fixed that for you.

Anyway, back to the original topic.

Best: The World Wakes, Vampyre series (even if people thought the ending was weak, I still enjoyed it), and The Light Within wasn't too bad, typos notwithstanding.

Worst: Penguin quests, Dishonour Among Thieves, Salt in the Wound. Ordered from most hated to least hated.

I sincerely believe that Birthright of the Dwarves has one of the finest stories in the game. Not that it's the best quest, that it plays well, or even that the dialogue is consistent. The grossly limited budget for graphics, programming, and (especially) localization wreaked havoc with what I think could have been a flagship quest for Runescape. But, purely on story, it one of the most character-driven, pathos-laden, and tragically ironic offerings on the quest list, and far more sophisticated than many of its peers.

Worst is a little harder. While I enjoyed the quest itself, the storyline for Dishonour Among Thieves was rather disappointing. The story told in Making History about the founding of Ardougne was truly atrocious, but that wasn't the story of the quest itself. And I always remember being annoyed with the trajectory of Grim Tales, despite liking the quest overall.

Ultimately, I think I have to give it to Missing Presumed Death. I started typing my rationale, but it quickly became far more nasty than what I care to put out there.

So, the obvious answer is that WGS is the best quest and SitW is the worst quest. So let's not say that for a change.

While WGS is definitely and indubitably the best quest ever, it may not necessarily have the best story (definitely top 5, of course). I guess The Chosen Commander claims that title.

For worst story - if not SitW and stuff like Monk's Friend - I reckon Missing, Presumed Death. The first two minutes of it were really nice and then it all went downhill, unfortunately.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

I find the best storyline to be the Fremennik series. The story progresses very smoothly.
Starting with trails and being welcomed, to slaying the Dagannoth, uniting the kingdoms and meeting their God. My favourite quest being the Fremennik Isles.

The worst storyline for me would be the penguins. It was enticing and comedic at first with all these references to the real world. But now it competes with major threats like Gods, Dragonkin and so on.

I guess it has lost that danger value due to being locked in the 5th Age and still incomplete. Perhaps it can be fixed similar to the Myreque series.

Gower Quest. Reason?

The atrocious bar, which takes more than half the quest with you, the player, near-mindlessly running around in there doing stuff random NPC's want. Plus, the bar is post-modern and basically full of crap. Go figure, good fight, Jagex. My score: Zero...FAIL!
You peer into a Chapel of Zamorak, which appears to be abandoned. Before you can close the doors again, a Revenant Chaos-Bringer flies at you and slays you instantly with a bolt of Shadow Lightning. Oh dear! You are dead!

You're right, he doesn't. Eva is his niece.

Temple/White Knights take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. They can't have children. Eva's story was that her parents were murdered when she was young, so her uncle raised her. He didn't want her to join the Temple Knights like him, though, wanting to protect her.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.
