When i started RuneScape i only knew the main three. I had always been chaotic person and Saradominists were racist idiots saying their god was the good one and destroying other factions (I especially hate the wise old bank robber). They were boring. So i joined the "evil" side. Even when i continued to learn more and more i stayed on this side. But then i learned more about Zaros. My loyalty split. Like you can see from my name. Then at some point i became little serenist. later that side almost disappeared. Then came V and i split in three again. NO
I do not ship ZamorakxZaros.
I follow them. And Marimbo, the best t5 god.

When I first started playing back when it was just the big three, I chose to follow the god that most aligned with my personal beliefs. Granted, that does make it a lot more personal, but of course, I wanted to immerse myself into the world. I was raised as a Christian, so Saradomin definitely seemed like the go to choice since his teachings and all the architectural motifs were most similar to it. But as more gods were being introduced and some of Saradomin's actions seemed highly questionable (like the spread of propaganda and condemnation of other factions almost blindly), Saradomin didn't seem as trustworthy anymore. I don't really believe in judging someone on what others say as that's just a catalyst for conflict. Some say this is a lack of conviction, but I've never really been that kind of person.

Today, I follow Zaros because he's closest to my own personality than the other gods. Granted, I was uncertain of his darker side, but the Fate of the Gods quest was what won me his full support. I'm a very analytical person myself, but I'm not totally without morals because those are hard-programmed into my brain. After all, I'm human while Zaros is a personification of certain emotions. I just like that Zaros is very logical and rational, and his followers tend to be the most relatable to me.

Back when I helped my best friend azzi (He probably hates that I call him that but IDC ;) )

He seemed dark and mysterious, like we were summoning a demon, which was cool for me, as at the time because I was interested in the paranormal, so I naturally helped call my lord Zaros to us to awaken him. And his magic that he gave me finally made me be able to defend myself, I never was good at PVP. I still remember being able to take on several people at once in my POH back in my noob days.

But once I heard about the elder gods, I realized that I might have no choice but to side with Zaros in the hopes that he is capable of defending us. His past and actions are questionable, but nobody else seems to want to help us or defend us. The only god that is probably even aware that elder gods exist is Seren, and she is a pacifist. I simply can't trust that she will be able to fight, and honestly don't want her to. She has too much empathy and shows too much kindness for me to want to risk placing her on the battlefield. While yes, Zaros is a questionable weapon, but a questionable weapon is better than no weapon. Such is my thoughts on the matter.

I also honestly have an affection for my lord, as a role player, if this all was real, I would probably beg to be by his side at all times. I kinda have a thing for power. :P
I like seeing my master happy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I theorize that the power of the elder gods is simply not sustainable, so even if he does obtain it and try to kill us, he very well may end up dying completely anyway. So until that happens, I'd like to think of myself as his loyal guard dog.
IT'S ALMOST HARVESTING SEASON!

I dont exactly follow Guthix, not because hes gone, but I'm Guthixian because I find I do often act and decide in ways in which order and chaos are balanced, looking at what is fair and good for all, thinking things through neutrally without taking a particular side (within reason ) and deciding with a balance between emotion and logic. Its just what the WG does. All the gods have their positives and negative (sans Bandos), and we often think if only there was a god that had a balance of their traits. Thats not really saying Guthix was that god, although in many ways he was, but we seem to be the one that must balance them and achieve a balance of those ideals within ourselves. Last but not least, others gods care about their ideals, ambitions and followers, while Guthix is the one that truly cared the most about Gielinor.

I have to say the faction I like best, hands down the Zarosians. Zaros is a fascinating character and his ideals I approve of, especially now that he has rethought much. His followers, Azzanadra, Wahisietel and Akthanakos, do nothing but help. His goals though, have me on the fence. Still, I support him in most things.

i dont get why people still follow guthix in the 6th age even after he made it obvious he didn't desire worship.
but gods have followers whether they want them or not. he had so much power and knowledge its sad he hated his existence. i had one player ask me why i didn't follow guthix when i told him i just dont he felt offended. based on his total level i and lack of quest points i could tell he was not aware of guthix's death or the fact he didn't want followers.

Dunno if I posted in this thread already, but as far as I'm concerned, Zamorak is the only god worth following. Zamorak is the only of Gielinor's gods:

-whose ideology espouses freedom and individuality
-who wants to, rather than control and dominate his followers, nuture their strength and help them grow on their own path
-whose ideology has any level of complexity
-who does not represent some level of oppression

Zamorak is the god for those who reject bonds, restrictions and arbitrary authority in search of freedom and empowerment.

I've been Saradominist since day 1.

This is mainly through a logical sense. If we look at Gielinor's myriad of civilizations, most of those that are well established lay in Misthalin and Asgarnia both of which are predominantly Saradominist. A great portion of humanity is aligned to him and if we compare their civilization to human non-believers and other races, it's clear that Saradominism is doing something right. If we're to compare Saradominst-held kingdoms to those of Zamorakian, Bandosian, or Zarosian in nature, it's quite obvious which has a better grip on actual civilization.

Armadyl shares similar motives but he just doesn't have the grip of the majority as most of his followers remain to be aviansie and reside in their own world. Seren has a great elven civilization behind her and Serenism and Saradominism rarely clashed with one particular event concocted by Sliske in the sidelines. Guthix retains a large following extending not only to humans but gnomes, dwarves, and others as well and they usually remain neutral around Saradominism on normal circumstances. However, despite all these, humanity is still the bulk of the population and Saradomin has the greatest pull on them not to mention that he already leads a flourishing Icyene civilization back in New Domina. The latter alone is living proof that much can be gained under his solitary rule and ideals.

Saradominism aims for complete uniformity and control which is really what is needed to progress imo compared to the proverbial "strength through chaos" and maintaining the "balance" between the two sides. Only once all like-minded races, like those aligned with Arma, Seren, and Guthix besides Saradominism, are left would there be a chance at actual peace and order. It's the division of mentality that causes conflict in the first place.
