Saranthium
was a large Saradominist city built around 3.3800, when Senntisten, occupied by Zamorakians, was destroyed. Saranthium would become a prosperous and growing city, reaching its peak in the early Fourth Age. However, it was soon destroyed as well, although it is unknown by whom or what exactly. The ruins of both cities can now be found east of Varrock.

¤
Seers' Village
is a town in eastern Kandarin where seers, Guthixians with precognitive abilities, live. It is ruled by a council. The Elemental Workshop of Vitruvius is located beneath the town, with the castle of Camelot to the east and Sinclair Mansion to the north. It is famous for its courthouse, where trials involving people from all over the world have taken place. It's a seemingly old settlement, as seers are known to have existed at the very start of the Fourth Age.

¤
Senntisten
was the capital of the Zarosian empire throughout the Second and Third Ages. Before Zaros' arrival to Gielinor, it was a small human village like many, ruled over by the many-headed hydra god Loarnab, to whom the villagers made sacrifices to appease it. When his demonic legion failed to destroy the beast, Zaros used tendrils to trap Loarnab and tapped power from it to provide energy for a portal to allow the other eleven legions to join him on Gielinor. The villagers of Senntisten accepted the new regime in awe and, as Zaros' empire was established and his armies swept across the lands, Senntisten became the capital of the empire. It expanded massively as he taught its residents religion, law, the Infernal language, etc.

The city became huge, with large temples, a large sewage system, thermal baths, basilicae, schools and courts. The lands around it were used for agriculture, making use of crop rotation to replenish the soil, and the city itself made use of aqueducts and well-maintained roads. The Praetorians acted as the city's secret police force. Senntisten was one of the best developed cities in the world, with 10% of its inhabitants being literate, a number unrivalled by other gods' empires. When Zaros was defeated by his Legatus Maximus, Zamorak, the archbishop of Senntisten, Ayanetka, told the people not to panic, believing Zaros to be ruling from the Shadow Realm, which was false. Throughout the God Wars, Azzanadra would attempt to make contact with Zaros from the famous Senntisten Temple, but failed, and he was eventually captured by the enemy. Around 3.3700, the amassed armies of Saradomin and Zamorak marched on Senntisten and, when Wahisietel's attempts to turn them against each other failed, Priest-King Dagroda ordered the immediate evacuation of the city. It was conquered by Zamorakians and turned into a city of the chaos god. Approximately a century later, Saradominists levelled Senntisten and built their own city on top of it: Saranthium. In 5.169, the ruins of Senntisten were discovered beneath those of Saranthium and the Senntisten Temple was fully restored by Azzanadra, who had since been released from his prison in Jaldra(oc)(ht) Pyramid, and his followers.

Shilo Village
is a large village in central Karamja, west of the Jade Vine Maze. In the late Fifth Age, it was plagued by undead zombies summoned by Queen Rashiliyia, but they were contained at the village entrance until the queen's spirit was laid to rest.

Sophanem
is a large city on the eastern bank of the River Elid and twin to its neighbour Menaphos. Archaeologists theorise that it was originally a village built by the refugees fleeing from the destroyed city Ullek. This would place the foundation of Sophanem between approximately 3600 and 4000 of the Third Age. Evidently, it managed to withstand the God Wars then, or was destroyed and later rebuilt. Akin to Menaphos, the Sophanites have their own High Priest of Icthlarin and a busy marketplace, as well as the famous Temple of the Lesser Gods. However, it has no separate ruler as the Pharaoh of Menaphos controls both cities. In 5.169, Amascut the Devourer sought to obtain the soul of Klenter, a former High Priest. She eventually succeeded despite the efforts of her brother to stop her by hypnotising a couple of adventurers. She then unleashed the Plagues of Sophanem: swarms of giant locusts depleted the food, the cattle fell victim to a plague and even the Sophanites themselves gained painful red spots on their faces. The Pharaoh reacted by putting Sophanem under quarantine and locking down Menaphos, preventing Sophanites who had crossed the river from going home. The Sophanem slaves were ecstatic though, as they didn't have to work anymore, to the dismay of their Menaphite counterparts. The High Priest attempted to convince gatekeeper Coenus and his guards that the plague was non-contagious, but fled when the Menaphite Guard started to attack them. Today, Sophanem has been opened up again while Menaphos remains barricaded. Meanwhile, hordes of Scabarites tunnelled beneath the city on orders of the High Priest of Scabaras, who had been possessed by Amascut. Agents of Spymaster Osman of Al Kharid attempted to establish an underground passage between the two cities, but one of them, Kaleef, was slain by a giant scarab. Sophanem contains several pyramids, including Jalsavrah and Klenter's pyramid.

Tai Bwo Wannai
is a small village in central Karamja, led by Chieftain Timfraku. Their shaman is Trufitus Shakaya, who is attempting to communicate with the gods. The village often suffers from attacks of those who have been victims of ancient murderous rituals.

¤
Taverley
is a relatively quiet druid town by Lake Crystalmere, in the west of Asgarnia. It is inhabited mainly by the druids of Guthix, whose last stone circle, built in the early Fourth Age, lies just north of the town. The druids are working to reclaim the Varrock circle, stolen from them centuries ago by Zamorakian dark wizards, and have enlisted the aid of an adventurer to help them. In 5.98, the King of Asgarnia decreed that the Void Knights be restricted to Taverley, acting on the advice of the Church of Saradomin. They remained there until 149, when Admiral Boyce Khael sent the bulk of his troops under Commodore Matthias to combat the void pest invasions in the Unquiet Ocean. The town was also heavily involved in the War of 164. In 169, however, Taverley became rather less peaceful when Carn the beastmaster attacked and kidnapped the druid Pikkupstix, although he was later tracked down and Pikkupstix rescued. Shortly afterwards, the Burthorpe - Troll Country War escalated as the trolls made it as far south as Taverley. They have since taken residence in some of the caves beneath the town. The war has reached Taverley, which is now littered with dead trolls and Imperial Guard troops.

¤ The
Tree Gnome Stronghold
is the largest gnome settlement, located east of Piscatoris in what is now northern Kandarin. It was presumably established in the Fourth Age, when the gnomes emerged after hiding underground during the God Wars. The name is derived from the gnomes' living in tree huts. Gnome Air has its base at the top of the Grand Tree: an incredibly large tree planted at the end of the Fourth Age by a number of gnomes, including Hazelmere. It was when the elves living in the Baxtorian Empire left to fight the treacherous Iorwerths in Prifddinas in 1930 that suddenly a lot of land was cleared. Under the leadership of King Healthorg the Great, what is known as the Great Migration followed, in which the gnomes expanded southward. However, so did the goblin tribes in the south who had fled the Feldip Hills and thus a war began between the two. The two forces met at Atarisundri, but thanks to Glouphrie, one of Healthorg's advisors, who conjured the illusion of a tortoise army, the goblins fled south, leaving the gnomes "victorious". Glouphrie was banished for concealing the murder of the elder spirit tree Argento, though. Soon afterwards, Healthorg died and elections ensued. The candidates were his son Prince Argenthorg and the leader of the Tree Gnome Village, Bolrie. When it was discovered that Bolrie's advisor was Glouphrie in disguise, the gnome was disgraced and exiled and Argenthorg became king. He was eventually succeeded by Narnode Shareen. In 5.169, the Tree Guardian Glough, suspected to be from Arposandra, attempted to kill the Grand Tree and frame a human, Charlie, for doing it in an attempt to invoke a human - gnome war, but an adventurer exposed his plan.

He then began building an armada in a Shipyard on Karamja and had the 10th Squad of the Royal Guard crash in the Unquiet Ocean to be taken prisoner by the monkeys of Ape Atoll. His comrades Way(da)r and the Gnome Liaison Officer Carano(c)k attempted to convince King Awowogei to declare war on the humans, but this plan was thwarted as well. That same year, the spies sent to the Stronghold and Village by Arposandra were exposed and killed.

¤ The
Tree Gnome Village
is a smaller gnome settlement in central Kandarin, south of Ardougne. It appears to be less influential than the Stronghold, although both are ruled by a king. When Healthorg died in the very late Fourth Age, the leader of the Village, Bolrie, ran in the elections, aided by his mysterious advisor. It was on his suggestion that Bolrie declared war on General Khazard and his army just east of the village and the two have been locked in combat for two hundred years now. The advisor revealed that the other candidate, Prince Argenthorg, loved humans more than gnomes. However, Argenthorg called on Yewnock, who dispelled the illusion, revealing that the advisor was Glouphrie the Untrusted. Bolrie was disgraced and his family forced to live underground as Argenthorg became king and Bolrie's younger brother Bolren became king of the village. While Bolren soon allowed his family to live on the surface again, Bolrie crossed the Galarpos Mountains and was greeted by the elves of Lletya, where he built his workshop and created an anti-illusion device, occasionally sending parcels and letters home to his wife, Gena.

When the device was ready, he entered Arposandra to avenge himself, but was captured and would remain in prison for nearly two hundred years, until rescued by his daughter Golrana and a human adventurer in 5.169. Meanwhile, King Bolren used Bolrie's old puzzles to construct a large maze around the village, protecting it from invaders, such as Khazard's men. In 169, the Khazardians stole the village's protection orbs but they were retrieved.

¤ The
TzHaar City
is a large city inside the Karamja Volcano. It was built many millennia ago when a group of TokHaar left the Elder Kiln seeing that there were no more orders from the elder gods. On their way out of the Kiln, they constructed the TzKot-Zo, a conduit of sacred lava to heat the volcano and ensure their survival, as the TzHaar eggs need sufficient heat to hatch with the newborn inheriting its ancestors memories. TzHaar City consists of an inner and an outer part, the latter of which was recently opened to human visitors, who would instantly die due to the immense heat in the inner city. The outer city has several shops, using TokKul are currency, a library and several "games" the humans can take part in: the Fight Cave, where humans are challenged to fight off waves of volcanic creatures of increasing strength, and the Fight Pit, where humans battle one another in a free-for-all mêlée. In 5.169, a giant stone armadillo threatened to collapse the city with its digging, but a human adventurer defeated it for the TzHaar. That same year, the TokHaar interrupted the TzKot-Zo, causing the city to cool down and the eggs to hatch as Ga'al in an attempt to force the TzHaar back to the Kiln, but the city was eventually saved by the same human and their friend Ga'al-Xox. TzHaar City has no government, although the Mej caste acts as a ruling "council" of sorts.

and the citizens were sometimes said to be overindulgent and wasteful. However, the city fell victim to the God Wars, being taken by the demon Balfrug Kreeyath and his troops during the Battle of Ullek, which began some time after the siege of Uzer. The citizens, low on supplies and resources, fled into the tunnels beneath the city as Ullek was utterly destroyed. Not all were slain, however, and some refugees managed to escape to the village of Sophanem, which would survive the God Wars. Nowadays, the ruins of Ullek are populated by Scabarites and undead. The elder god Jas is said to have laid down beneath the are Ullek once occupied.

¤ The otherwise unnamed
Underwater city
is a settlement that has been submerged for many centuries and considered a myth by most people who know of it. However, there are people currently working toward re-establishing contact with it.

¤
Uzer
was one the greatest cities in the Kharidian Empire. The Pharaoh would rule from Uzer, which manufactured animated golems for protection, also supplying them to the allied forces of Saradomin. Uzer was located in the north-east of the lands and survived the Kharidian - Zarosian War. It also managed to withstand most of the God Wars, until the demonic Kharidian Desert Campaign started around 3.3000. Very roughly seven hundred years into the campaign, the Battle of Uzer came to a sudden end: the city had been besieged by the army of Thammaron, but it held not least due to the golems' efforts. The cunning demon proceeded to open a portal into the depths on the city from his infernal throne room and conquered the city from the inside. Elite golem troops fought Thammaron and sent him back to his throne room, grievously wounded, but to no avail, as Uzer had fallen and was subsequently destroyed. Its ruins were discovered by the Varrockian archaeologist Varmen in the late Fifth Age. They are covered with the symbols of Saradomin, Zamorak, Armadyl and Thammaron.

Varrock
is the capital of Misthalin and the greatest human city in the world. It was originally a camp called Avarrocka by the River Lum, established around 4.700 by a group of elders escaping goblin and ogre threats: Tarrlo Remanis, Damar Lapuce(*), Khom Prysin, Dathero Raispher, Marv Halen, Ramone Ravitz and Laris Gontamue. Upon seeing a strong and healthy young child wandering around, which they took as a good omen, the elders settled down and taught the boy as the camp soon expanded to become a village, and eventually a town. Meanwhile, the child became an expert in farming, hunting and fighting and impressed the elders with his skills. At the age of twelve, the child was sent away to find a name and discovered a group of goblins who were planning to raid the village and slew them all when they attacked him, screaming "arrav". Subsequently, the child was named Arrav of Avarrocka, Curse of Goblins, Hunter of the White Stag, Child of Sun and Moon. It is then that the Mahjarrat Zemouregal visited Arrav in the Land of Dreams and announced that he would enslave him and take Avarrocka as his own. Seeing this as a bad omen, the Elders of Avarrocka sent Arrav on an impossible quest to retrieve an otherworldly shield to protect their town. Eventually, Arrav reached the Imcando dwarves living in Ice Mountain and stayed with them. They confided in him, revealing they had the shield and that Zemouregal had many times attempted to obtain it and that they could not give it to Arrav seeing that he would not be able to defeat Zemouregal, who would then acquire the shield and gain great power against all races. Meanwhile, while Arrav was absent, the goblins attacked Avarrocka and burnt it to the ground, leaving only a few survivors, including some of the Elders.

Instead of fighting them, Arrav made peace with the goblins and helped rebuild Avarrocka. However, two years later, Zemouregal returned and reinforced his promise, to which Arrav left for Ice Mountain, where the Imcando clan gave him the shield, knowing that Zemouregal would go after them after destroying Avarrocka. The morning after his returned to the town, Zemouregal's undead army, stretching the entire horizon, attacked the city. The defenders began to fall and the undead roamed the town as Arrav advanced and hacked his way to Zemouregal himself. Although he was protected from the his opponent's magicks, the Mahjarrat's sword, made of shadow and smoke, was no match for the young man, who could only desperately defend himself. Arrav proceeded to throw the shield to the burning town, where it was picked up by the grandson of the eldest Elder. The power of the Shield of Arrav was unlocked and the undead army reduced to dust. Zemouregal then killed Arrav and took his body with him, reanimating him and turning him into his undead slave. Avarrocka recovered from the invasion and grew prosperous. By 900, it has become the capital of a new kingdom, Misthalin. At one point, the city launched a crusade to Enakhra's Temple in the desert, but she easily slew all knights, except for one, Pentyn, whom she imprisoned in ice. In 1100, the forces of Morytania clashed with those of Misthalin and a bloody war began. It would last a hundred years until Lord Drakan's forced were finally pushed back around 1200 at the First Battle of the Salve. The Seven Priestly Warriors blessed the River Salve to act as a holy barrier that the evil creatures could not cross, and the Temple Paterdomus was erected on the western bank. Four of the Five Princes of Misthalin would not return from the battle, however, leaving their youngest brother as the new heir. At some point, Avarrocka was renamed Varrock.
