I thought there was evidence for Zamorakians or some other party destroying Saranthium, but I'm probably mistaken, considering I don't remember where it was...

I love this idea though, hope its referenced in the future with more Dragonkin quests.

I remember this too, I seem to remember that the city was so enthusiastic about its worship to Saradomin, and too magnificent that it eventually led to its destruction...

There's a good chance I saw this on the wiki many years ago though.... It's amazing how somethings just stick in your mind.

An old revision of the Saranthium page does have that, but it was speculation and thus removed.

That's what I suspected...

Anyways I found this on Colossus thread posted by Cody, it's from the post bag

Original message details are unavailable.
Bold warrior,

It is good that you show interest in the great heroes of the past, though it is sad that so much of our history has been lost in the ages. We of the Heroes' Guild have always tried to keep the stories alive for the younger generations, hoping that they would be inspired to acts of heroism. Alas, even we know little of Camorra's great acts.

What little we can be sure of is that she lived some time in the middle of the Fourth Age, and that she defeated the dragon Garak, who had laid waste to a number of villages near the Wilderness. We're quite sure that there is more to be discovered about her, but the Heroes' Guild library is woefully inadequate!

Perhaps we should send one of our apprentices to Varrock and Falador to find whatever there might be written about her. Should you discover anything yourself, we would be glad to hear of it.

With honour,
Achie*ties

Do you think you could fit this in somewhere? It would be good to incorporate more post bag lore

Nowhere was it ever said the Zamorakians and Saradominists were in an Alliance. They simply may have been attacking at the same time possibly from very different angles given the size of Senntisten. Wahi tried to focus their attention on each other but again not necessarily an Alliance. I find it hard to believe the Alliance would have lasted anyway given the Zarosians abandoned the city and so they would have fought over it anyway.

As for this theory I can see that being possible. Also a nice reason fir Robert to begin attacking the Kin but it's a very vague theory with no particularly strong evidence for it. So anything could have happened. For all we know Zemouregal attacked it and levelled it (I have some reasons for why he may have done this and repeatedly tried with Varrock besides the Shield of Arrav).

Yeah Saranthium would have been able to defend against a Dragon imo. I guess Crandor couldn't (which seems kind of dumb at this point actually) but a dragon just doesn't seem a candidate for this particular destruction.

Honestly I find it easier to believe that the city was destroyed by either goblins or Zemouregal taking advantage of a population no longer supported by the provisions of a god wars' campaign.

The kin simply had no reason to attack it.

By the way, where do those numbers of the timeline come from? If I remember right Azzanadra's dialog suggests the zarosian city fell much earlier than the end of the god wars - in like a millennium or so.

Azzanadra doesn't know when the city fell he was imprisoned before it and as we can tell nobody has told him what happened possibly out of shame.

It was never near there though. It had been in the Fist of Guthix cave and then Zamorak claimed it and then Guthix moved it to where we find it presumably and it never is in Saranthium.

Yep, an alliance.
