Thread outdated; recent discussion & River of Blood review at the end.
'ello and welcome to the rewrite of this thread. Previously, I argued why the Myreque series should have two to four more quests before the finale, and now it's been confirmed there will be two more quests, the first of which is to be released in late 2015. After the finale, there will be other Morytania/vampyre quests, according to Mod Osborne on Twitter (Dec 2014, "There will be more vampyre storylines."
, so yay!
For a catalogue of what's happened so far in Morytania and the Myreque quests, you should refer to
this thread
. Instead, this thread will focus on the as-of-yet unresolved plot points in the Myreque series, that should be resolved in the final two quests or in future spin-offs.
1) Find out more about Calsidiu
- Obviously we should meet the leader of the Myreque at some point.
2) Find out more about Safalaan Hallow and his Icyene heritage
- Said to be one of the focuses of the next quest.
3) Find out more about Ivan Strom
- Said to be one of the focuses of the next quest, he has been hinted to be very important multiple times.
4) Find out more about Ascertes, Efaritay and the Icyene civilisation, and what happened to them
- May well be dealt with simultaneously with Safalaan's history.
5) Find out more about daeyalt and visit the city-sized daeyalt refinery under Darkmeyer
- Daeyalt is not *that* important according to Ana, but it's still a plot point.
6) Find out more about Sanguinesti Affliction
- Probably won't happen in the main series. Either way, likely linked to daeyalt.
7) Find out more about Salve crystal and the mining operations.
- Not very important according to Ana, and won't happen in the main series. Possibly in a spinoff.
8) Gain access to Castle Drakan and meet Lowerniel
- Will happen in the next quest! We'll even fight him.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire.
OSRS: POH ideas
&
RS3 minigames
&
achievement ideas
!
Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Lord Drakan
9) Vanescula's debt to Malak could become important.
- Mod Ana expressed interest in potentially exploring this, but other than that there will not be any novel references in at least the next quest.
10) Find out Vanescula's true intentions
- Definitely going to happen.
11) Haemalchemy and the blood altar
- Seems to be becoming increasingly important.
12) The fate of Mauritys Guile
- Not a major plot point, but would be nice to know.
13) More history for Vanstrom
- Ana said this is going to happen at RuneFest 2013.
14) References to other quests
- We killed Victor and Dessous, for example. Could be referenced, but not important.
15) The anti-edict splinter group
- Unfortunately, The World Wakes has diminished their original plans' relevance. That doesn't mean they can't still be important in the series (phase 2 of their plan?), but more likely to be a spinoff.
16) How the werewolves kidnapping people crossed the Salve
- Likely to be a spinoff werewolf quest.
17) Misthalin can attack now - and we haven't seen Roald and Aeonisig in a while
- Surprisingly, this is not a major, pivotal plot point according to Ana, but it will be dealt with in some way or another.
18) The rock Lowerniel is obsessed with
- Will likely be dealt with. Could be salve crystal, daeyalt, the blood altar, or the Stone of Jas, as these are all relevant to Morytania.
19) Whatever happened to Charos?
- Almost definitely won't be dealt with in the main series.
20) Why hasn't Flaygian Screwte returned from his getting-some-air?
- His disappearance will have to be explained at some point, I'd reckon.
21) More on the nature of blisterwood
- What happened to all those trees? Why is there just one left? Probably related to Icyene civilisation.
22) Vamp**isation processes
- Probably the most interesting thing of all. What do the inscriptions in the Columbarium that Drezel discovered mean? How does vamp**isation work?
- It's grandmaster and the penultimate quest
- We will infiltrate Castle Drakan and face Lowerniel himself in a "battle of suitably epic proportion"
- Safalaan will return and his powers will be used
- Vanescula will help us ('for now')
- Ivan Strom's importance will be revealed
- Other Myreque members' "unexpected truths" will be revealed
- Castle Drakan will be accessible post-quest. Other rewards include combat and skill updates, and "more opportunities to act like a vampyre"
- Is likely to be developed by Mod Srowl*y, although it's Ana's story and she'll be very heavily involved (also writing some of the more important dialogue, for example)
- Castle Drakan may well be graphically updated for the quest (see the cover of Return to Canifis!)
And now? Now we wait. If possible, replay all previous Myreque quests in preparation for Myreque VI, or at least watch the Grand Questing Marathon videos on YouTube. Or read the wiki transcripts. Visit your POH bookcase and read up on all relevant books, talk to some Myreque members, explore every nook and cranny of Meiyerditch again, fight Vanstrom Klause in the Dominion Tower and design your questing outfit. This promises to be a very momentous quest!
Also, create a Morytania playlist to listen to while we wait. Here's my suggestion!
-Morytania
-Shadowland
-Distant Land
-Dangerous Way
-Darkmeyer
-Lament of Meiyerditch
-Fangs for the Memory
-Upir Lik[h]yi
-The Terrible Caverns
-The Last Shanty
-Fenkenstrain's Refrain
-Night of the Vampyre
My[re]que prevail!
PS. Ignore my name, I am totally not infiltrating. *shifty*
I pretty much agree with this. 2 at the very least though I reckon another 3 is more appropriate. I feel that with all this god stuff they are like rush out all the other quest series to the finale so we can stop worrying about them.
Dwarves and Elves were ready for a finale that was obvious and has been for a while even though Elves could probably fit in 2 if it's pretty long 1 will do. Myreque last we had heard after BoD was guaranteed an extra 2 but if that is not the case I worry for the conclusion.
Gnomes and Pirates were said to have the next quests be the finales which imo makes no sense especially gnomes where we have no reason to even go after the gnomes of Arposandra yet because really we don't know anything other than they exist.
We have seen quest series come to conclusions too quickly before with Salt in the Wound etc and as we know we need to campaign against this quickly because once they are decided upon things never change.
I bet Mod Ana will fix 9) by falling a pillar on Drakan
. Or maybe a Snorlax summoned from Pokemon Realm!
It is a long list, but it could be infused into one quest. A very long one, but still. Or Jagex resets the place, making you don't need to do the actual prerequisites to do this quest, only to get full reward (like TWW). It is choosing between the plague and the cholera (I don't know how the expression in English but you'll understand what I mean).

How about no. And gnomes? Behave, you're not a child anymore.
Alot can be put into one quest, remember TWW? remember WGS?
Don't beg jagex to change their plans just because you have little faith in their ability to wrap something up in one conclusive quest.
TWW didn't have to wrap so much up. It was mostly new lore not tying stuff up. Also sure WGS brought a lot of stuff together but nowhere near the amount Myreque has to.
Jagex cannot pull this off without a super long quest and unfortunately they are proving as of late they don't care about questing or questers and don't want to put resources into making large ones only putting resources into ruining the lore.
If you care about the lore you will speak out against these things not sit back and wait till after the terrible quests are out and then later complain when they cannot be changed.
Also I don't know how voicing our opinions in this manner is being like a child and not behaving. This forum is not for sucking up to Jagex liking every single thing they do and praising them for it it is about giving feedback.

Support. There's no way they can wrap everything up in just one more quest, unless it were an absolutely massive one- which I don't think they'd take out of their budget.
I'd be absolutely furious if they ended such a great questline with so many unanswered questions.
