This thread is devoted to those situations or actions, or dimwitted courses which in hindsight had easier solutions.

Today I realised, that the Bandos Afterlife defence mission, from Nomad's Elegy had an easy solution. A crude bridge and we have a sword. . . why did our muscle bound dimwit not just destroy the bridge? Mission complete!


There is bound to be lots more situations like this, so please list them I like reading such things :) The purpose of adventure is to shine light into dark places,
Poke monsters with a sharp stick, Then steal anything that isn't nailed down!

What about the Stone of Jas and hiding it. All that convoluted shenanigans to hide it when the abyss is so large and uncharted? Just open a hole thrown it in and job jobbed! Though in the end it was easy enough to destroy O_o

What I'm more concerned about is the fact that when you defeat an animated book in dungeoneering they regularly drop tonnes of salve eels...

Someone's actively tucking cooked salve eels between the pages, taping them down and then animating the book. Who could be dastardly enough to do such a heinous act of villany?!

I bet that certain someone is waiting for us on floor 61!

As for dealing with the Stone of Jas, I wonder what would happen if we had lobbed ours into one of the Dimensions of Disaster... Double the stones, double the mayhem!

I still wonder why my character decided to try and get the Stone of Jas back when faced with the (fake) story of the Dragonkin stealing it and capturing Sliske ( Kindred Spirits ).

1. This had all the signs of a trap in the first place.
2. Of all living creatures, the Dragonkin are the least likely to use the stone for they know the adverse effects it has on them. If the Dragonkin did have the stone they would not have upset the Elder Gods later on by
having to destroy the stone as a last measure to keep it out of the hands of the gods
3. If Sliske was truly captured then good riddance.

All in all I do not understand how my character let itself be pulled into this quest. "One should not mindlessly follow gods or the godless:

Just want to step in and correct an assumption here:

It really wasn't.

You have a very specific set of circumstances here that allowed Kerapac to destroy it. He needed:-

* Another elder artefact that had been studied an misused to have a very specific effect it was not intended for.
* The massive anima energy of the Heart
* The Stone itself to be in said Heart
* Extensive research into how the connection between the stone works and how to use it. Which included needing someone with the World Guardian power to investigate (One of a Kind).
* Not to mention needing everyone distracted long enough to set this up (notice how the Dragonkin didn't interact with people much in the maze, it's because they were somewhat busy).

Basically this could only happen in this specific setup. This was in no ways an easy thing and likely no one else would have been able to set this up.

I labour this, because it's likely to be important going forward. ;)
