After you chose to steal the Staff of Armadyl during Temple of Ikov, why not keep the darn thing for yourself?

You were no world guardian at that time, and you could guess it's an important powerful artefact if a shady hooded guy was after it.

Imagine how things could have been...?

Lucien (or Morvario) would then come and break into your PoH and beat the ever living snott out of you and steal it.
Or they'd use some cheap spell to pose as you and steal it from your bank. Or do some elaborate ploy to rob the bank.

Remember that even by the time Lucien had the Staff, he had a full network of thugs, agents, working with elements of the Dark Warriors and Kinshra, and had zombie hordes at his side.

It wouldn't have taken Lucien long to figure out the Player Char did something with it and opt to come back at you with a vengence.
And it's not like the Player Char would fare well against even a pre-ritual Mahjarrat who comes with backup and they are very, very, very motivated to find out what happened to the Staff.
NO, we just stick it on a toolbelt, very few things ever escape from that Runescapian blackhole :P
The purpose of adventure is to shine light into dark places,
Poke monsters with a sharp stick, Then steal anything that isn't nailed down!

That depends on how strong the player is at that point in the story. Temple of Ikov is 'Experienced' levelled. So perhaps you are right.

But even if Lucien unleashed all of his forces upon you while you are say level 60, you are still in possesion of the f'ing Staff of Armadyl ! We have all seen what that thing can do. It is not only an incredibly mighty weapon, it also increases strength of the wielder as these items tend to do. Look at what it did with Lucien within a year.

Sometimes I wish the player wasn't to stupid and actually kept the thing.

*something* *something* as the plot demands ......

Today, I realized I could have just tossed some chinchompas into the Witch's House while she was in the garden. Hopped the fence, tossed more chinchompas at the experiment. Then grabbed the ball.

Or just bought the boy a bunch of new balls.

We still don't have "protect from thok" in our prayer book

We still can't buy granite boots, though at this stage, there isn't much of a point as they would be pretty weak. But still a desire to own it after all these years.

What about the Stone of Jas and hiding it. All that convoluted shenanigans to hide it when the abyss is so large and uncharted? Just open a hole thrown it in and job jobbed! Though in the end it was easy enough to destroy O_o

Feel like you'd cause a thousand more problems if you threw it into the abyss.

You've seen shattered worlds. Imagine all those creatures feeding off the pure energy radiating off the stone.

You'd create some magnificent god that way I'd imagine.

Speaking of magnificent gods, I'd much preferred to have teleported away with a number of objects that have gone through our possession. The wand, the stone- and even now, I'd steal that shield back from the museum and chat with the few remaining imcando left about why only a certain bloodline can use it- and how I might achieve the same gift. Blood magic or otherwise.

I'd also be tempted to give that throne in Nomad's Requiem a try. Or meddle with the world gate and recover the elder sword. Sweep further into the Eastern lands for that horn.
It would have had ALL the the Kin chasing it in the abyss. All the gods doing the same. Even the Elder gods might have gone to see what all thee fuss was about. Leaving Gielinor, minus most of the quest and the Abyss with more than you can shake a stick at :P
