Seer (Seevin) Strange
- Based off of Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange) Marvel Comics.

Dialogue

1

Player: Hello Seer.
Strange: I am Strange.
Player: You're Strange? What is strange about you?
Strange: No, I don't mean I am strange!
Player: But you just said you where strange?
Strange: Yes, I am strange but I am not strange!
Player: If you're not strange, then why did you call yourself strange?
Strange: BECAUSE I AM STRANGE!
Player: Umm, OK. I have to go now, I think somebody just called my name.
Strange: I didn't hear anything, you sure?
Player: Yep, just heard it again.
Strange: OK, well just remember that I am called strange.
Player: I will, trust me!

3

Player: What's your first name?
Strange: Seevin.
Player: Seevin? sounds like Stephen.
Strange: My parents saw I would be a seer and they liked the name Stephen. So they named me Seevin. I wish I was named Stephen instead though.
Player: Why don't you just change your name to Stephen?
Strange: I was considering it, but I cant, due to legal reasons.
Player: What legal reasons?
Strange: A noob that trained at the Wizard Training Arena copyrighted his name. He thought he was special and going to save the world. He's known to be really self-centered.
Player: I'm sorry to hear that.
Strange: Its OK. I heard a lot of people are after him. I'm glad they wont confuse me with him.
Support! :)

I just have a comment about the church concept art they showed in stream. Saradominist symbols seem weird in seers' church. They said they see seers as more accepting of different faiths which is something Saradomin or Saradominists aren't really known for...
Wouldn't it be more fitting if they had some different symbol? Maybe something to do with their powers to see into the future and how that affects their beliefs?
Saradominist themed church most certainly seems wrong.

Not really. The Guthixians let the Saradominist in -not vice versa. And not all Saradominists are intolerant of others. Look at the Abbey next to Kharid.

Also, are there plans to give the Seers a makeover? If there isn't there should be. I think sticking with a humble, simplistic look would be best.

He also said he wasn't sure how the Seers migrated from Relleka to here or how they got their powers. Of all the ideas in this thread you couldn't think of one?

I love those Dev Vids by the way!

Hi Kelpie and others. So I basically had an idea but posted it in the wrong thread. The idea is that the seers split of from the Fremneniks when trying to stay neutral in the upcoming war with the Moon clan. They travelled south and found refuge in Camelot, owned by tge Sinclairs at that time. Read my full idea at QFC 16-17-352-65902767

Ok. Since nobody really wants to check another thread, this is my complete idea:

The seers were originally Fremmeniks, living in the northern lands. Tension among the Fremmeniks rose when magic through runes was discovered. Some of the Fremmeniks disliked the idea of magic while others started practising magics and formed the moon clan. This eventually started a war.
A group of seers who foresaw the war decided to stay neutral by leaving their lands. Travelling south, they sougth refuge in the castle of Camelot, which at that time was owned by the Sinclair family. The Sinclair family happily helped the seers by expanding the town - which at that time only consisted of an armory (where the bank is currently at), a Church and some stalls. Hence the difference in architecture (considering the concept art). The pub and the longhall are still remnants of their fremmenik way of life.
Later, the armory was replaced in the castle as the old armory was sold to the Bank of Varrock.

This idea also implies that the Seers got more openminded towards religion due to the presence of the church, rather than them building the church due to their openmindedness.

I am aware that my lore is very flawed and patchy so any input or corrections would be fabulous!

What is their relationship with Frem?

- As has already been mentioned, it is where the powers stemmed from.

What is the cause of this phenomenon (seers)?

- This came as a result of living within a close proximity of the Stone of Jas (while it was on Lunar Island). This awakened within some the power to 'See'. As we have learned the Anima Mundi exists in all life -so in a sense all beings are innately magical. But for some races these powers are dormant -so I'm suggesting that the stone awoke it within the Frems. This could also help explain the recent decline in born-seers. Perhaps the Anima Mundi within them has gradually 'unawakened' from generation to generation (degradation). If this doesn't stay true to the Anima's lore then we can just say it was the stone of Jas.

Why did they resettle in a different location?

- One possibility is that a family of Frem seers (Farsight or some cheesy name like that) grew weary of the perpetual war between themselves and Moonclan and sought out a more peaceful existence. This would also explain their conversion to Guthix's beliefs.

- Another possibility is that this family poorly interpreted a portent that cost the lives of many Frems in a battle against the Moonclan. Dishonored, the were banished and settled a village -aka Seer' village.

-They could have been V's men who helped him build the element altars. The Frems though only gods should make runes so they might not have been allowed to return so they settled the village. See the elemental workshop for more speculation!

You're kinda late for the party but that's a good twist on similar ideas. I suggested that they were V's friends who were exiled and built Runecrafting altars.

Aslo, Dr. Harlow is missing the . after Dr. in his name. Should say Dr. Harlow not Dr Harlow.
and Favorite is misspelled in the What is Twitch Prime paragraph explaining the promo, they spelled it Favourite.

You see, the British Empire spells words correctly.

I know this isn't lore, but can we have an update to the Elemental Workshop's "Battered Key" mechanic?

Take a page from Mod Stu on the Shield of Arrav quest:
Make it so the player only needs to use the Battered Key once to open it.
Any time after that, the player just opens the door to access the workshop.

This wold be a minor QoL improvement, plus it would permanently remove 1 more key from the Steel Key Ring.

You do realize this is already the case?
