Do you think that Misthalin's role in the next quests will be limited as a result? I saw the conspirators as a plot device for some kind of incursion over the Salve from either polity ('polity' since Morytania is not a kingdom).
Still, it means that there will be more room for the other numerous threads to be woven together to form a rich tapestry of story-telling. Let's try to put a picture together of what we know about the remainder of the series...
1. Vanstrom Klause is 'very dead', according to Mod Osborne. Does this simply mean that he isn't coming back to life, or does it mean that the series won't be using him anymore, full-stop? This could have a big impact on Ivan Strom's role.
2. Ivan Strom - ISOTM's dialogue told us that Ivan has powers that stem from his tremendous faith in Saradomin, yet LoS told us that Ivan has a few disagreements with the Church of Saradomin's doctrine (a little bit like Ivandis, no?). We also know that he is a young orphan and that he was wanted by Vanstrom. I think we will need to call on Ivan's 'faith' as Drakan is woken out of his stupor.
3. Safalaan Hallowvale is an Icyene/man with a mission and is missing and in a 'dismal' place. Mod Ana once said that she would like to focus on him in the next quest, but have her plans changed since then?
4. The Burgh de Rott order - These Myreque were largely left behind in the last quest, and their link to Misthalin via Drezel was totally out of the picture. This makes me think that we will see a lot more of them in the next quest, especially since Ivan Strom is set to become a key player.
5. Morytania proper - How will the next quests affect the region as a whole? The last quest was very Meiyerditch/Darkmeyer centred, so I think we can expect to go elsewhere.
6. Vampyrium - Is definitely the Vampyre homeworld. Mod Osborne said that he wanted to visit these kings of worlds. Will the Myreque series venture where Icyene dare not tread?
