Ana confirmed there will be no novel references [D:], but she did like the plot point that Vanescula still owes Malak, so that might be used at some point, in this quest or the next. Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

To my knowledge that was only for the Myreque series, not the werewolf spinoff series that she wants to do if the opportunity arises.
The strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack.

*Punches way out of oblivion*

I originally had a longer post, but lost it because of issues involving my internet being a total jerk and logging me out of the forums. So short version:

New quest had a werewolf with dialogue concerning Morytania and the salve barrier. It would be cool if someone could find it and post it here so I can get it into the relevant spot in the thread for future versions, but for the curious the dialogue more or less confirms some things mentioned in the novel to be canon.
----
Insane new theory that may or may not have a basis in reality:

I've been doing some thinking lately about Drakan, what Zaros said about the civil war that led to a nobility being created on Vamp**ium, and a few things jmods said in the past about Drakan wanting the Stone of Jas and potentially being a nice guy (for the record, Mod Tytn was the one who said that years ago so it might not be in the cards anymore. Assuming it was even serious in the first place.)

Remember that decaying tome under Burgh De Rott? Here's a transcript from page 1 for those who don't:

"With -- gone I am weak.
My fellow -- spread and sparse.
Vamp**ium --- lost to me. I am much --- weak to enter. I still sense it, Zamorak's bane.
It must be mine. The Icyene --- me. must rest --- recover."

Now, a few things popped into my mind with this whole thing.

1) Zaros didn't exactly say that the Drakans were a part of the nobility.

2) In the recent quest, Zamorak was revealed to have fought against Zaros because he saw himself as a liberator. That attitude expanded to Saradomin, Armadyl, and Bandos near the end when he started feeling that they were going down the same path the Empty Lord had done in the past.

3) The Drakans and Vyres switched sides from Zaros to Zamorak because they were promised the Hallowed Lands

Continued from last post

Now, my insane theory is this: What if the Drakans and the Vyres that followed them to this world were outcasts from Vamp**ium for some reason? Further more, what if Drakan wants the Stone of Jas so he can go back to his homeworld and reclaim it from the nobility that he considers his enemy? In that case, what if the tome really reads:

"With it gone I am weak.
My fellows, spread and sparse.
Vamp**ium is lost to me. I am much too weak to enter. I still sense it, Zamorak's bane.
It must be mine. The Icyene got (ambushed?) me. must rest and recover."

Now, it's hard to say that this is specifically talking about the Stone of Jas or something else. But consider this: if Drakan was privy to Zaros' secrets and knowledge about the Elder Artifacts, he may have figured out that the Stone could give him a major power boost.

In fact, he may have even had access to it when Zamorak had it in his possession during the God Wars, and with the recent revelations during Dishonour Among Thieves about how users of the Stone can become addicted to it, he might have even ended up getting himself addicted to it (by accident or not is up in the air).

Now, what happens when you take away an addict's source of....uhh...addiction? They tend to go into withdrawal. They might start getting weaker as they go on without it for a time. But this is the Stone we're talking about, and a Vampyre of considerable power. He might be able to sense it with his innate abilities or something after trying to figure out how to track it after all these years.

And so, the tome might be chronicling a moment of despair that the writer (Drakan) experienced during his conquest of the Hallowed Lands. Which may have happened in the first place because the Drakans felt that Zaros wouldn't offer them the proper power base to successfully go back home and challenge the nobility that he introduced by showing up in the first place.

*Ran outta room on the last post again. Dammit*

And that's the theory. I'm going on a 7 day work week with minimal sleep as I write this, so if it doesn't make sense or contradicts something we already went over, I blame it on that.

In the meantime, I gotta check out Lord Drakan's thread >_>

Well this dream i've consumed outta this recently found scroll is something. Quite a while old too, rought*y half a decade would be blossom upon it! It has this yet overly bizarre, breath taking and giving, terrifying complexity within it. Here is a charater with row boat managed to settle around the southern water waves south of Morytania, and eventually got into a large harbour... With haste they ran thru the dock with several vyres charging after, the dream dims.

How much one had obsession during that time being to outcome such mindrattle during their rest? Hrmfht!
