Greetings!

The title explains it all: let's vote for the best quest ever - in any category. Name your number one because it's the funniest, the most well-written, the most difficult, has the best music... I don't mind. My own top 15 is found in the next post(s).

For interesting discussions about quests, browse the comments on this thread. Ditto for Rondstat's lovely and eloquent quest reviews.

And here's my own leaderboard.

Fusswell's top 15

1 - While Guthix Sleeps (Mod Tytn) - 2008
2 - The Chosen Commander (Mod John A) - 2009
3 - Darkness of Hallowvale (Mod Tytn) - 2006

That's my top 3; and then, in no particular order:

Do No Evil (Mod Edam) - 2010
Dimension of Disaster (Mod Stu, Mod Srowley, Mod Doctor) - 2015
Blood Runs Deep (Mod Hew) - 2009
Ritual of the Mahjarrat (Paul, Mod Srowley, Mod Chris L) - 2011
Plague's End (Mod John A, Mod Stu) - 2014
In Aid of the Myreque (Mod Tytn) - 2006
Underground Pass (Mod Tom) - 2003
A Clockwork Syringe (Mod Liono) - 2011

Elemental Workshop IV (Mod Dylan) - 2011
The World Wakes (Mod Ana) - 2013
Broken Home (Mod Wilson, Mod Ollie, Mod Nexus) - 2014

Yep, these are probably my 15 absolute favourite quests!

Honourable mentions:
(i.e. the top 30 or so)

The Branches of Darkmeyer (Mod Ana) - 2011: Excellent storyline and dialogue, and Vanescula's character is superb. My third favourite Myreque quest, although it's a shared first place really. Definitely in my top 20.

Void Knight series (Mod Moltare, Mod Nancy, Mod Rathe) - 2010: The individual quests are good, but the overall trilogy is especially sublime. Kudos to Grayzag's character and the intricately woven plot.

One Piercing Note (Mod John A) - 2011: Excellently written, and fantastic use of audio.

Birthright of the Dwarves (Mod John A) - 2013: Brings together the characters and plot threads of the series in a great way, in spite of the small budget of the project. Bravo.

Rocking Out (Mod Wilson) - 2008: Gameplay is good, but this quest especially excels in humour, not unlike ACS.

One of a Kind (Mod Raven) - 2014: Required thinking is nice, lore is great and brilliant characterisation of Hannibus and Kerapac.

The Hand in the Sand, Back to my Roots, Returning Clarence (Mod Maz) - 2006/7: Punny. So, so punny.

Dishonour among Thieves (Mod Ollie) - 2015: Excellent use of Jerrod, Viggora and Hazeel, and kudos for bringing in a novel character and fixing Hazeel's situation.

Recipe for Disaster (Mod James, Mod Ash, Mod Ian, Mod Wilson, Mod Tim, Mod John A, Mod Tytn, Mod Greg, Mod Chihi*o, Mod Liam, Mod Dylan) - 2006: Applause for the success of the unique structure, and the variety of gameplay in the various subquests; a proper celebration of one hundred quests.

Haunted Mine (Mod Ian) - 2004: Great gameplay, having to navigate through the mine, and splendid atmosphere, much like in Underground Pass.

The Fremennik Isles (Mod Chihi*o, Mod Ben, Mod Douglas) - 2007: Great story, truly feels like an epic Fremennik adventure.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

The Death of Chivalry (Mod Stu) - 2013: Excellent story and lore, and great characters. References to the Order of St. Elspeth and the Dawn Ascent complete it.

The Elder Kiln (Mod Edam) - 2012: Very good and immersive story, one of the more tragic in the game.

Mourning's Ends Part II (Mod Dylan, Mod Graham) - 2006: Probably the best puzzle of all quests; the sense of adventure is great and the feeling when you finally figure out how it works is extremely rewarding.

The Light Within (Mod Raven, Mod Ollie) - 2015: Again, kudos on the excellent puzzle. The history of Tarddiad was also nicely done, as was the search for the shards of Seren.

The Lord of Vampyrium (Mod Srowl*y, Mod Stu, Mod Ollo) - 2015: Excellent characterisation and very much in line with the rest of the Myreque series in terms of continuity. Deaths were tragic on a WGS-scale.

Gower Quest (Mod Daze, Mod Jack, Paul, Andrew) - 2016: Need I explain?

Stolen Hearts and Diamond in the Rough (Mod Srowley) - 2012: Best considered as a single quest, these have given a very interesting narrative boost to the desert series whilst staying very much true to its established nature. Excellent dialogue and characters.

Oh for a second there I thought we were voting on your top 10. :P

My favorite quest was surprisingly Fremmenik Isles. I was Mid level at the time, so the danger was just right. I felt important going between the kingdoms acting as a diplomat. The scenes and dialogue with the cat were actually pretty funny. And to top it all off you get a great helm, The Helm of the Niezinot!

I was really sad that they said there will basically be no more Fremmenik quests, there are the Dungeoneering Sagas but they just don't feel the same...

Hmm...Difficult.

I'm gonna say Do No Evil for now, since I loved the story progression in it, the puzzles and combat were fun, it took me about 6 hours, the music was nice, and of course, we learned a good amount of lore.

Perhaps this will change when I start and complete my redoing all quests spree :P
You can only fully appreciate a story when you experience it through the eyes of one of its characters.

This is going to be filled with spoilers...

Incoherent rambling incoming...

I gotta give my vote to While Guthix Sleeps. Is was long, difficult and filled with lore. The final battle was amazing (sadly Balance elemental got severely nerfed with EoC, but I was lucky to do it before that). The way how it tied together so many loose ends and references about the Stone, pulled them all together and blew your mind is just amazing. Every single Stone of Jas -reference added afterwards (QBD journals, Archmage Sedridor dialogue, TokHaar-Hok dialogue) just adds up to this. The moment where you walk up to the Stone, and touch it, and suddenly "Temple desecrated" starts playing while a magical blast flies from the Stone, summoning the Balance elemental... one of the most epic moments in my questing history. Simply seeing the Stone made me unable to breathe for some time... And I couldn't Imagine they'd let the slayer masters die and Lucien win in the end.

Yea, so my vote goes to WGS.
