Rippers must be Avernic because Zamorak had no Chthonians loyal to him (or if he did, it would only have been a handful of individuals).

I wonder, did Zamorak like Chthonian demons? Or did he not really mind them and just rebelled for the sake of getting soldiers.

Good question, I think he may have hated them for their reliance on consuming morsels to move up in the world. They are essentialy leaches feeding of the memories and experiences of others. I don't thin Zamorak likes leaches.

I hadn't considered that. Well technically the ones on Infernus kind of earned their meals through legal trickery and through battle with the Infernals but yes. They were probably also a but stagnant and wouldn't just try take power.

I imagine Hostilius prevented any growing too powerful too or at least too intelligent.

Yea, I feel like Zamorak always kind of held a bit of resentment towards Chthonians, and always favored Avernic's move, which is part of the reason he helped them rebel (Main reason being followers).

I've been loving it so far Jack! Honestly this would be amazing to see as an animated cinematic cutscene in the game, like as a Stone of Jas flashback or whatever. I would give my firstborn child to see a proper cutscene for this :O
And to protect the Stone until such a time as, near to death, whereby you are relieved of all duties and shall henceforth be returned to your home plane with the gratitude and blessings of Guthix.

I don't think it had much to do with them being "leeches". Moreso I don't think he'd like their orderly/contract ways, and how they were suppressing the Avernic demons
