why do people want new skills. I don't see everyone's logic in wanting to change this game. it's perfect the way it is and doesn't need these updates that will make it lose it's uniqueness, I loved dragon claws in eoc but I do not want them in 07. I really hope jagex does not add a new skill and continent..

To each their own, I suppose. Some people, like you, don't want new updates and for the game to stay as is. But I think you have to accept you really are vastly in the minority there. There's 90% support for the new continent which is quite colossal considering the magnitude of the content it would bring.

As to whether as many would want a new skill, I don't know. It depends on how good the skill is, and how beneficial it would be to the rest of the game. That's why I believe Zeah is so well supported. It'll bring new content for pretty much everyone. That's what I was aiming for in sailing, too. Would it garner the same level of support? All things considered, I doubt it. Many are turned away just by the mention of sailing. But, given the almost universal benefit it could bring, I certainly think if there were to be a skill, sailing is by far the strongest contender.

I know what you're saying, and I rethought the whole continent deal and I won't entirely mind it. just don't want to see graphical updates, new weapons, easier skulking methods, etc. as for a new skill I am against that, if there was one to bring in I guess it would be sailing because it wouldn't affect many other things, but all in all I'm not for a new skill

Ugh just posted a whole thing about it and had to relog and it glitched. But mainly. I just don't believe that Sailing is very conductive to the rest of the game. Your version of it could add some new things to the game (I definitely didn't read through 6+ pages) but personally I was just never a fan of Sailing. I thought it to be a pretty forced skill because the people of Rs3 were demanding a new skill. I'm glad that the new skill being polled on in the new year will not be one that players have suggested. I'm interested to see what it is, but I doubt it will get 75%.

I never actually did player owned ports, but yeah it seems to be pretty popular on RS3. That being said, I personally would rather we make our own completely new content, rather than just recycle from RS3. I'm sure the popular mechanics from player owned ports could be incorporated into sailing in some fashion or other, though. Sailing
