I really have no clue why people keep posting/bumping these kinds of threads.

The Solomon's general store is meant for people that like pushing the limits on character customisation; how your character looks like. Aside from the bank booster [which isn't that OP considering the items you would really need to stash in your bank], everything in there is completely harmless and doesn't improve your gameplay AT ALL. It's purely cosmetic.

Real-world trading is what simply is hugely overestimated. What the rules always said, and what countless of ignorant fools just kept refusing to read, understand or aknowledge, is that it is not allowed to trade items < - > RL money BETWEEN PLAYERS. The Treasure Hunter, formerly known as the Squeal of Fortune, has greatly adapted and is largely being converted into a method that gently pushes your skill progress in the right direction. Most of the occasions they don't just hand out expensive items [with exclusion of skilling crates YET], they don't give instantly-obtained xp at ridicillious rates anymore [as lamps are pretty uncommon/rare now], and everything is dependant on how far you've progressed in the game. This means that the push a level 138 gets is as large as a level 3 would get.

Bonds are not Real-world trading at all. They are actually the very same membership, runecoins or TH keys you would buy [for a bit more*, the only difference is that there is a step in between them that makes you able to sell or give them. A bond literally is your ingame version of a Runescape 'gift card' that you can sell/give to another player or use for yourself.

It actually just disgusts me of how many people are hammering on the things that actually keeps this game alive. While you may not like it, there are hundreds of thousands of people that more than definetly do. Nowhere are you forced to participate, it's all on your choice, so if you don't want to participate then go ahead, ignore it.

People refuse to realize that micro-transactions are a great support for the game, aside from the monthly membership or the money they get from other companies from advertisements and supersonicAdds. Thanks to all this money:
- They are safe to keep Oldschool available for members without charging them more money
- Their server performance is better than before [really, there has been a major improvement in capacity compared to years ago*
- They have dedicated teams for management, updates, security and more, that give out bigger detailed content, proper rollouts without encountering game-breaking glitches [the last game-breaking glitch was in early 2007. Can you believe how long we've been without one?!]
- We can actually keep this freakin game here, available for YOU and all other free players available!

Instead of jumping on 'ooooh, you are doing this, or that, and we as your customer/user are not allowed to do that!?' but realized what opportunities for Jagex this has brought to BRING TO YOU.

I'm totally fine with that there are things you may or may not like, but a little appreciation that jagex is STILL keeping this game available for YOU to play is more than at place.

There also are opportunities to earn RuneCoins (and Keys) without having to pay money. Several of them are really good offers as well, and there are iPhone / iPad / Android app downloads if you don't want to give out personal info (about 400+ RC per month, free). It's all through Sonic Ads so Jagex benefit with the dinero and players benefit from some freebies. For anything involving an email address, you always can set up one separately in case you have spam-phobia (like me :P ).

Those options are very limited and involve basically giving out your personal information to third parties, something that I thought Jagex was against.

@Uriel: Bonds are RWT because you can make a lot of ingame money by paying real-world money. Micro-transactions are only good for the game because it forces people who have spent so much time and money on a game to continue playing it and continue supporting Jagex. This basically leads to very few 'loyal' players who will continue to play the game no matter what. Jagex should be retaining players based on good updates, no off of cheap economic slavery.

At this point you're honestly just coming off as a crybaby.

Disregard what bonds have done against bots/gold selling,
Disregard the extra money that gets put towards updates and various other things FOR THE PLAYER by Jagex through these extra transactions...

..and begin coming up with your own assumptions about loyal players, how many stick around, how many actually take advantage of these opportunities, and assume that reasons "very few" loyal players stick around is not because Jagex is still pumping out updates, but instead it's due to "economic slavery" as you put it.

This thread needs to die. By now you've cried just about an ocean's worth of water regarding microtransactions, and come up with enough assumptions and false facts to build a raft to float around in it.
^-^
