Jagex spent years reinforcing the opinion that buying ingame items for real cash was a terrible sin.
They removed the Wilderness and Free trading in order to cut off RWT and the gold farmers that supplied it.
The sudden change of tune has upset a lot of people, myself included.
The sneaky change to the Code of Conduct made things worse.

The way I see it, Jagex is a company and the objective of any company is to make a profit, regardless of what they tell you.
If anyone's to blame for this, it's the players who eat this crap right up. The amount of people I've seen having payed £30 for the cosmetics is depressing.
We're in the middle of a global economic crisis and people are practically burning their cash.

they spend more time on sof/solomon than on fixing the existing problems in the game, such as (but not limited to): glitches, bots, horrible lag, white screening, game freezing, 50% screen...
if we're already paying for membership, we shouldn't have to pay a second time for items and extra bank space. Extra items and extra bank space is something that paying for membership is supposed to give, not paying for spins and solomon's store...
Jagex may be making tons of money in the short-term, but as this problem continues and expands more and more players will get upset and probably quit the game (meaning less profits in the long-term, and unhappy players).
Jagex should take a poll to see what updates we actually want to see, like they used to do.
