So you already quit and you're still gonna spend your time whining and complaining?
Please move on and play something else.
You're no different than the crybabies on youtube who dislike and leave hate comments on every single runescape video long after they've quit.
There are countless other things you could be doing with your time.

At this point, it really looks like you're the only one who cares.
You haven't been getting any posts from people who agree with you for a very long time and you've been hostile to those who don't agree with you.

I still believe this thread should be moved to the Rants section since that's what this thread is, a Rant.
There are soooooo many more people on the Rants Forum who might agree with you there than there ever will be here.

It's not just a request to get rid of you, it's also some helpful advice if you choose to take it, unless you've got too much pride for that.

I just started playing again about an year and a half, but I'm ending my mems in 4 days or so.
I understand where you're coming from by saying that no one might care anymore, but that only means that this thread is more important now than ever; newer players need to learn, and older players reminded, that Jagex can never be trusted as a company*

Original message details are unavailable.

I'm not complaining about the game as a whole, just this one aspect of the game which I think everyone would agree would be better without it's use of microtransactions. This is a game that I dedicated a lot of my time to in the past, but the thought of how drastically the economy has changed to accomodate for Treasure Hunter rewards (magic notepapers, springs, agility boots) is the reason why I am so repelled by it. Cosmetics are also now completely devalued because someone no longer has to work hard to get a cool-looking cosmetic item because now they can just take out their credit card and get whatever look they desire.

When it comes to advantages it pretty much just opinions. Purely cosmetic items in my opinion gives no real in game advantages whatsoever. If I put on full deathless regent I still hit and get hit the exact same, I get the exact same drops, I get the exact same xp, and I do everything else in the game the exact same as if the amour did not exist. If I choose to pay $5 to look different with no other benefits then it doesn't affect you in any way besides you looking at something different. Other items such as the legendary pets, bank boosters and wicked pouch are a different story but in the cosmetic sense alone, I'm sorry, I don't see your point at all. You don't have to be rich in real life to buy solomons. If you work hard in game you can just buy and redeem bonds. If you work smart and hard you can buy all of solomons and membership itself just by playing the game.

The way they added these items was far from being the best and they did get a lot better in the sense that you can buy them just by playing the game (not defending buying bonds with real cash). Though they could have easily added these things in game via minigames, quests, and even the loyalty store. Things will get worse as they have already shown they don't care if they add a perk that can be bought with real world cash.

I do know this thread is years old but it's all still relevant so I decided to reply.

Again this is just my opinion, with all do respects happy scaping.

I respect your opinion, but personally I find that cosmetics do tend to play a huge part in the game. Why else would people pay for something that they did not value?

I think the introduction of bonds actually worsens the original problem because now you are able to equate real money to ingame money alongside runecoins, and it no longer matters.

I pay only because I get tired of looking at the same amour and animations. For me it just spices up the game a bit and makes things new and interesting again. Playing for 6 or 7 years can make things get a bit old.

Being able to buy bonds with real cash and selling it for gp was a horrible idea. I really just found the ability to pay for the game by playing a rather decent idea.
