hey i use the membership cards because they do stuff like this and my parents dont want me hacked then their money flying because some no-life has nothing better to do than to hack someone, those people make me sick. i was hacked way back in january for a freaking bcp (my whole bank) :( Here for a good time, not a long time. :)

I've been quiet on this topic so far as I recognize the need for JAGEX to turn a profit. But with this offer, I have to agree... more rewards for buying cards at a store instead of using a credit card... doesn't make sense to me. Maybe auto payments should give an auto reward as well?
My other beef right now is all of the new clothing showing up that won't go into my POH. The Halloween outfit for example. Forcing my bank to frivolously fill up so I have to buy more bank space maybe? I paid for SOF spins when the deal was too good to pass up, that was a nice offer. But there is a difference between rewards / good offers and manipulation, I'm starting to feel the latter. I hope this is addressed rather soon.

an*z.....it appears that you only get stuff if you bought a card from those 3 stores... even if its a red 25 card if you didnt buy it from one of them you dont get the stuff

I noticed there were a few concerns that members, like myself, who have a monthly recurring membership would not be able to get the lightning items. Fear not, for there is a solution!
If you scroll to the bottom of the news bulletin and click on the FAQ link, it clarifies that if you have a monthly recurring membership and do not wish to interrupt it, you can add the card's membership value to your account and you will simply not be billed again until the card's membership value has been used up. You will be able keep your loyalty points multiplier intact and obtain the items, at no game-play or monetary loss to the player.
That said, I may just make a trip down to Gamestop ^_^ Hope this helps!

I know alot of people are upset about the payment by credit card members getting nothing in these promotions.
These types of promos are done to keep specific *tores stocking membership cards. They're also designed to get guaranteed money for a specific amount of time for Jagex, where a credit card user can back out at any time. Also, they're quite a bit more expensive than the credit card payments are. $10 US for a month minimum and around $8 average per month if you get the higher $25 US one.
Personally I've always used Gametime cards to pay for membership, but its amazing how many of these promos I've missed due to bad redemption timing. Missed scarecrow mask by redeeming early two weeks, but i had to redeem one to keep my membership current.
Its been very frustrating with little to no advance notice and the specific store purchase necessary even for people who use these things regularly.
Last promo was done through Wal-Mart(Scarecrow Mask) and this one is done through Gamestop(Lightning Pack) for those of us in the USA...the store tends to alternate to a new one with each new promo. I for one can tell you I absolutely detest Gamestop, making it extremely unlikely I'll bother with this one.

If you click on the FAQ, it says you can buy the card and add it's membership value to your account and Jagex will not issue you another recurring bill until the card's value has been used up, so no loyalty point loss ;)
