This is awesome news, I love the addition of HTML5 and tablet support, and that you're not trying to squeeze as much money as you can out of the game but putting the money back in. As a dedicated RuneScape player, and the fact that RuneScape is my favorite game EVAAAAR this whole post puts a huge smile on my face. :)
but most of all:

Clever PR strategy by the way.
First the unpopular thing, spin it a little, making it sound sincere and equally concerned. Then add some nice little news that might make different groups of people excited: anti-bot software; graphical improvements; platform extensions...
Well done, all the PR is covered.
And I agree, I also think the majority of the players will stay despite SoF and Solomon. And I'm sure that makes a lot more money than member subscriptions while having a moderate in-game effect.
But that doesn't mean you take away the core of what dislike... a lot. All you do is secure your assets and try to charm people into softening up.
Don't worry, I'm a stayer. I love Gielinor for what is is, a lovely places with great quests, stories, content, etc.
But it surely isn't as awesome now (with the SoF) than was/could be. Revive/Enhance Mage Arena God staffs!

The HTML update looks very promising. As a browser game, relying heavily on HTML5 which some out-dated browsers may not support will need some time. I found the colors a bit too sharp and water a tad awkward, but the rest is amazing.
I really appreciate that you adressed the RWT in this message. I and maybe more (or many) don't agree iwth the post after just seeing the bank-space update. Bank spaces,for me, are a clear advantage into the gaming experience rather than Solomon's (until now) aesthetic items. Raising membership another buck or five would probaly have a much inferior hate that the SoF caused, that I'm sure.
Lastly, I am really excited for the new bot-busting updates. Final or not, it's good that one of the game's arch enemies is being handled.
(On a side note if you're reading this, Jagex, I'd like to suggest RS-God themed titles in the loyalty shop. It's been a few months since last loyalty update, eh?)

Every time I log in as a member, I get a pop-up ad or two.
Every month I get a bill which includes the blatant lie that members get "no ads".
Oh, and the pop-up ad is for a shop where I can buy a random amount of xp, RS gold or usually cash-able item for real cash.
And mods keep lying that Jagex will never, ever sell RS gold or xp, right here in this thread.

Some of the people fail to understand that the 700gps etc junk you get from SOF doesn't help you on your adventures at all. You gain 5x that from a killing a single dragon in 10 seconds.
If you don't like it don't buy and don't advertise it to people.

Don't add in the E.O.C. i promise you if you do a major amount of players that enjoy runescape will end up quiting because it ruined the game you guys know it will to just take a look at the past when you guys did huge updates like this for example removing wilderness you guys lost loads of your players for no reason and then just ended up returning it 4 years later when the people that quit dont even care about runescape anymore so adding in E.O.C. will end up the same and for those very few players that enjoy the E.O.C. then make it like you guys did with bh worlds u had only 3 specific worlds where the people that wanted the update can go and do what they wanted

Yea i'm pretty sure this will be another one to go under Jagex Logic as well since i've yet to see any valid answers or have any of my posts answered (been posting since page 37 i believe...)
