I suppose this is what to expect with a company on it's heels for oversea control. I too wish for the past where tacky, gimmicky interfaces do not exist. It seems to me like the old community of this website are long gone.
Though, admittedly alterations must be made, losing my support is just a price to be paid. This game will eventually end with one too many updates that repair something not broken. Bah but what do I know I'm just a customer.

Could I just add...
I notice a specific player that posted recently in support of microtransactions recieved a lot of replies. (Including by myself).
Just like to remind everyone to keep things amicable.
Otherwise those posting in favour of it all may feel 'attacked'?
All text can be read the wrong way. I for one am really bad with it.
Just spare a few minutes to read back to yourself.
Nice to be nice :)
My views haven't changed.
I am against SoF/EoC/RWT.
Not too fussed about SGS as long as it remains cosmetic stock only.
I am not against 'helping the game financially', if it's needed/if I'm able.
I do not think that methods employed should affect game xp/gp.
Selling the 'chance' to win XP/GP... is still selling XP/GP.

SoF spins today:
1 - Medium lamp
2 - Double Spin Ticket
3 - Medium Firemaking Lamp
4 - Small lamp
Bonus1 - Medium Firemaking Lamp
Bonus2 - 1,000 GP

Dear Jagex Staff,
I have been a loyal Runescape vet. I have been playing for about 7+ years. I feel in love with Runescape as soon as I started playing. It was easy to learn, yet challenging (to get skills up, quest, etc.), fun, simple, and most importantly it wasn't like any other game.
I'm not here too say I want 'Old Runescape' back. I just want to let you all know that I don't like the way one of the most amazing games in the world is headed.
There's so many updates piled on Runescape where the game isn't the same anymore. Players fell for the game for the way it was. I don't know if you guys get that. I, as well as many others, don't want the game to change, but it is. Don't get me wrong, a little change here is there is appreciated, but it seems like it's changing strictly for money/business purposes. Which isn't wrong at all, because when it comes down to it Jagex Company is a business, and businesses want to make as much money as possible.
So all I have left to say is that, people can fall in love with the most simplest thing because the fact that it is simple, but when it gets too complicated and takes a turn for the worst, you can't expect people not too leave. I know you all take time and effort and really talk about big updates, but do you really think about what your players want? Players that have been loyal for YEARS.
Without the players, it's nothing.

I agree with most of you I do not like that you can pay real life money for xp or items and also bank space and anyone who says you are not buying xp or rs money with real life money is totally wrong and just becasue you dont know how much rs money or xp you will make from the spins does not mean that you are not buying rs money or xp because you are buying it.
1 tip I have if you are going to buy spins is convert your items to coins or otherwise you will end up having to buy bank space so effectively what jagex is saying is if you give us some money for spins you will need to give us more for bank space.

Here's my tl;dr version:
=============
We implemented SoF and SGS to be able make enough money to continue developing the game. A lot of people complained, but I'll explain this in an optimistic manner.
We made this game. We care about it. We gather player feedback.
We make decisions that we calculate to be the best long-term. We won't sell gold or XP unless it is what we think is the best long-term.
We're working hard and doing things that you like.
Good things are on the way.
=============
A child explains why they don't like cheeseburgers. You explain why you believe cheeseburgers are the best choice. What is the child's response?
Another example:
You explain to a teacher why you don't understand it when it's taught that way. The teacher explains why teaching it this way is the best. Your response is...?

Look this probably wont even be seen but...
I think that the micro payments is good, its another way for you to get money, i get that your running a business but i also think that for everything that you can pay real money to get, you should be able to earn in game.
For example: runecoins should be able to be earned through a mini-game of some sort maybe, just so that true rs players can earn it, and it would add to the game too.
I just think that by making the runecoins only purchase-able with real money, you take away the value of playing the game, and promote real world trading, and a lot of people don't know but after you added it, you took a line out of the code of conduct under real world trading, that stated that you don't want Runescape to turn into exactly what you are turning it into...
that is all, have a nice day
