Jagex, I will save your company for free. Follow these steps.
1.) Remove Squeal of Fortune.
2.) Direct any employees previously working on Squeal of Fortune to work on removing and preventing botters, scammers, and gold advertisers.
3.) Listen to your player base to earn their respect, as they are your customers and your customers are solely your bottom-line profit.
4.) New-found happiness from player-base will keep current players playing and help to acquire new players through word of mouth. (Again, players = profit).
5.) Grow and expand as a company simultaneously with the player-base growing.

Jagex, you lie to us.
SoF sells xp. Not at a commercially successful rate compared to the gold farmers, but I can buy with cash lots of spins and get modest XP without in game effort.
You also hold the intelligence of your customers in contempt.
"...the reality is 90% of our members are enjoying the Squeal of Fortune..."
Your messages to your customers drip with contempt as you belittle our concerns.
What do I want from you?
I'd like you to get rid of the bots periodically.
I'd like you to develop a system that when a bot is reported, it says "Player 999imabot999 has recieved 293 botting reports from players. Player 999imabot999 is currently being reviewed by the customer support team for a possible ban. This action began August 29th, 13:52, and is expected to take no longer than two weeks, including appeals.
COMMUNICATE with us.
I also want that d*** imp off my screen when I log in. Give me an option to never see him again.
I also want the d*** promo billboards to disappear. Give me an option to never see them again.
You are not making your long term customers happy, Jagex.

ok let's clean this up a bit
1. i saw in some posts that there was actually a mod going against all those updates. i dont think that jagex and its mods would ever make those updates and ruin runescape itself.
2. other posts said that IVP (Institutional Venture Partners) owns 90% of runescape. i dont know if it when did it buy runescape (or rather fund it with money probably because runescape is in debt of all the creation of website and gaming and is planning to gain back profit in the long term run of members but is running out of debt time and is having difficulties) but im thinking that they suggested all those short term money making but reputation harming updates.
3. we should keep supporting those runescape loving mods, but try to get IVP outta there by not quitting and just staying as F2P...for a long time. if we can fight the war against them maybe runescape can come back.
4. it's just my reasoning. if you dont see any sense in it just keep it in mind at least

copied directly from a thread I made last night in rants
I've been playing your game for, in 83 days, 10 years.
I've recently come out of a 2 year hiatus and found quite a few new additions. The one I want to focus on is the squeal of fortune.
Squeal of fortune, like a slot machine, gives you the chance to hit it big but more often than not will give you scrap change. My initial reaction was hey this isn't a bad idea. It keeps people playing by giving them free daily spins, so you guys make money with continued membership. It gives players without a lot of moneymaking options a chance to get some gold to build their account. All in all I thought it was a fun update. I found it to be a very positive thing. except for a small issue.
Players can buy spins.
Obviously with such a large market for the digital currency and items you've created it's a smart business decision to offer the ability to "purchase" these items. However, it's the exact opposite message you've been trying to send since a black market emerged for Runescape items.
You now encourage players to spend money to get experience and gold instead of playing the game. All that I ask is that you remove the option to buy spins, runecoins and other similar Jagex endorsed methods of RWT

I would love MMG or a J-mod to reply to me for this one... Here is some information I found about the former CEO of Jagex:
"However, in an interview published in May 2009, his successor Mark Gerhard commented on what he perceived as the problem with Iddison's approach, which he thought was being too concerned with making money. This was both through constantly encouraging free players to pay the membership fee, and by employing the most lucrative forms of advertising (namely video advertisements). He described this as "simply wrong, not in the spirit of the free game, absolutely wrong".
Gerhard had said when he took over as CEO in February that video ads "generate significantly more revenue than other adverts", but that they were "annoying to the point it was putting [free players] off playing", which is why he scrapped them immediately."
So please tell me why there are video ads again now?

Does this mean you guys wrapped up EoC and this will be delivered on time!? I'm kind of hoping this will happen in September, all this anticipation freaking driving us all mad. Just update and fix as needed imo.
Looks like botnuke will happen if your changing from java to html5, I'd say win for you guys. All the bots will be out of order, at least for a month or so. I think you guys will have more bot measures installed quicker with your new platform too. Way to go if this is the case. You will win back the community.
BTW you talk about updates to GodWarsDungeon, is the new bandos/armadyl/ nex armors and equipment!? This smells like EoC to me.
Cheers,
Arc =)
Best wishes to all.
Jagex declared WAR on April 2nd, 2012 by implementing MTX.
