I would just like to say that releasing good content, brilliant quests and fun minigames etc. will get you more subscribers than allowing RWT. I am perfectly fine with Solomon's Store. There are some fun things in there and it's all cosmetic. The Squeal, however, I oppose. If you'd remove the xp lamps and money from it, I'd be less hostile towards it. So again:
Good content = lots of subscriptions in an honourable way
SoF updates = a couple of subscriptions and 99% of the community goes into RAEG-mode

But I'm assuming some 10 year olds are still begging their parents for cash to buy the new stuff and as long as people buy this stuff, it will keep happening.
By the way, you can now spin the wheel at 10 times the speed. This means that if you decided to buy 400 spins, you could spin the wheel 400 times in about 20 minutes (this is based on how long it takes to "rapid-spin" the wheel 3 times).
This game is dying guys.
My advice? Look forward to Skyrim: Dawnguard (for PC) and get siked for Guild Wars 2. Also, Minecraft 1.3 came out yesterday :)

Great update (sarcasm), but there's another thing recently that's bothering me.
This game used to be a Tolkien-esque adventure, with old, smokey taverns, orcs and goblins and battles of Knights in shining armour. It definately had humour, but it was included subtly and brilliantly.
Since ~2010, it's become more about cheap laughs than noble questing, with crap like Yelps (no lore behind him whatsoever), Solomon (someone who jumped right out of the 19th century with his tophat and waistcoat and somehow ended up in fifth-age Gielinor), the Circus (ffs, it's supposed to be a medieval game). The fart emote really did it. Seriously?
And now, you can make your weapons look like parasols. Permanently. Also, gnomecopter teleports. What happened to great enchanted blades forged under mountains by the dwarves and elves, what happened to black knights besieging Falador?
It's a giant mishmash of thrown-together rubbish with no thought. Want to throw in random 19th-century purple guys with no lore or explanation whatsoever, or goblins giving us free stuff?
Really disappointed with this BTS.

Jagex had to change their own game rules and definition of RWT to introduce squeal of fortune in the first place. I propose that if anything is to be done about this, a greater awareness campaign must be organised to put it to jagex once and for all that these SOF and SGS updates are degrading the game we all love to a stage where nothing is earned and everything is bought.
I put this to anybody who reads. We need to put the onus on those who have the power, influence, and abilty to reach all who play runescape, to come together to stop this mess, this nonsense which has gone too far. Put it to the likes of runeshark, chris archie, and nightmarerh...to everyone with an audience. Tell your friends, spread the word. Come together, at a time and place. On a runescape world you say?...NO, on every world. Every world filled with people who want this to end. Lets make this happen!!
It ain't much but it's honest work.
