When I first logged into RS, I looked at the emotes tab, and thought 'Oh, I have SO got to EARN all of these emotes. And I have an awful lot of them now. But earlier this year; "What's this? Runescape is implementing a real money trading system? THIS INCLUDES EMOTES! I WOULD NEED TO SPEND £34.99 (Nearly a year's membership) to get all of these emotes! Why, Jagex, why?"
Now today, I see that an emote is going up on the SoF! So, I cannot earn it. I would have to win it by blind luck! So, unless I decide to spend yet more money on SoF spins so I have a decent chance of winning the emote, I will NEVER EVER be able to get it, so I will NEVER EVER be able to finish my emote collection.
I have paid Jagex the full membership costs. No single person has ever reported me for anything. I have played most days. I am likely to get my first 99 during September. What have I done to have my chances of getting a complete set of emotes dashed against the wall in favour of people who are willing to waste all of their money? As far as I am aware, half the appeal to games like this is that they are acessible to all, not just those willing to spend, spend, spend.
I understand that you need to make a certain amount of profit, Jagex. But, please, could you be a little more subtle? I know that I voice many people's opinions when I say that some people CARE about their looks and HAVE been loyal members for however many years and so DON'T appreciate Jagex suddenly trying to squeeze money out of them.
Why not just add this emote and the ones in Solomon's general store to the Loyalty programme, or offer a way to get runecoins from the loyalty programme? I know that this strategy would appease me and many other Runescapers out there, and I would urge you to at least CONSIDER this.
If any J-Mod or anyone else high up in the workings of Jagex sees this message, please, please reply. I would love to see you fix this almighty money-squeezer into a viable system for all. Thank you.
