A young man stands in his bedroom. It just so happens that today, the 3rd of August, is this young man's runescaping day. Though it was eight years ago that the game was given life, it is only today he will be ranting about it!
What will the young man be ranting about?
==> Bots.
==> Try again Smartass.
==> SOF?
==> Good work.
Come on now guys, We all know these are not going so we should just roll on with the times...
I just wish people would understand with Solomon's shop is that it does not give you a in-game advantage...
But i agree with the S0F buyable spins, Just remove them and everyone will be happy =D

Utter Hatred, I appreciate your posts, they are insightful in a way. 7 year old account, hmm. From the looks of things you took quite a few breaks from the game.
You said that you'd be willing to drive away half the player base by implementing microtransactions into a game you created to increase profitability.
-The players that quit are left with a bad taste in their mouth. The only players left will be the ones who like being able to pay to get attention and newer players. Stripmining the community and reshaping it to fit the new model. Financially it has worked for other games (haven't seen it tried on an MMO), but morally it's bankrupt.
You said that the community doesn't matter. [If this was my game, I would sure as hell be trying to make as much cash as I could from it, and your either an idiot or a naive child if you think that ANY game is going to be "all about the community"]
-Runescape is an MMO, where a core part of the game is players interacting together. Without that, it falls below the standard of a single player rpg and becomes something people throw disposable income at for a disposable experience. No game is going to full invest in the community, but others know how to keep it afloat rather than throwing caution to the wind and telling a large portion of it that they can either accept radical changes or emigrate elsewhere.
You said that SoF/SGS things haven't taken much manpower.
-Why did Jagex lie and use the amount of work required to create these things as a justification for people paying for them? Asking for accountability isn't naive, unless
you're that cynical.
Yes there is a portion of the community that enjoys being able to pay for status in the game without actually doing in the game for it. As time goes on, that portion will become a majority, and these news threads will be full of googly eyed players with big wallets and no appreciation for history, only caring for that quick fix from paying real money (Look, I can straw man too).
