Don't usually comment in the forums but I feel the need to express my displeasure at the premier artifact. I'm extremely disappointed that you can't use the benefits at the same time as an aura. So now it takes up an inventory/bank space without the benefit of stacking with an aura which is the sole reason I wasn't too bothered about it being an item instead of an aura!

Also it seems like I've been robbed of several months worth of the premier vault. I figured as all info pointed to the benefits stacking with last years gold membership such as an extra key, helion aura, membership extending etc. However, I don't get an extra premier vault so in effect I've purchased this years membership early and lost out on the remaining months access to the premier vault from my last membership.

Its too late for me and I don't expect Jagex to actually amend anything but if this information helps anyone make a more informed decision on purchasing the premier membership my post has achieved something..

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering if it would be like this. I know it was so for the last year's premier club (which I found out the same hard way you did...). So I'll just wait my current premier club subscription to run out first, to fully benefit from it. And then it's time to put those (WAAAAY well in advance, in summer) GE-purchased bonds to work. No way I'm paying for the club with actual money with the rates offered. If I did pay with money, it would only ever be 1 month at a time with the grandfathered prices. The 20 bonds is reasonable, being 4 bonds less than with normal prices.

Are you saying I should wait with purchasing gold premier-membership? The vault of 2019 first starts at a specific date, or am I misreading this.

The joy of returning after a six-year hiatus; I'm a noob again! :D

Hola all,

Thanks for sharing all your thoughts so far. I've read all of the messages up till now.

There are various posts about the price difference between countries and currencies. For those who'd like to know a bit more about it I suggest to click here

For those who are enjoying the package, I'm glad you are ;)

I'm not saying anything for sure, seeing as I don't have first hand knowledge. But I think it might be, based on CURT15's message, that if you still have active Premier Club membership active from 2018, and buy the new package before the old one runs out, you might miss out on some of the access to the Premier Club vault at the Grand Exchange that you would have gotten with the old package. But I don't know for sure, and knowing Jagex, if there's an official answer it will be buried is some remote Reddit post or some JMod's Tweet... O_o Looking at your Forums avatar, I'm guessing you don't have active Premier Club membership, so this here is a moot point, though, as you won't be missing out on anything if you buy now. I think.

Gold membership is the ultimate loyalty so 200k loyalty points would have been nice considering the perks are meh for the money. Ppl are after the auras so give us more loyalty points with gold memb pls. It will take inordinate amount of years of gold memb to buy just all of the top tier auras.

P.S Looking forward to animated wings and capes in RS3 and the ability to get old untradable holiday items as a perk for being loyal member (the token system is already in place).

After I got the 2019 gold memb I can use helion aura to reset another aura which sucks since it's dxp.

Overall, RuneScape on the whole has been enjoyable as sh!t (the past few years) and I'm on the verge of wanting to dump it. VIP/Premier was exciting when it was first introduced, but the benefits keep shrinking and the outfits keep getting stupider/bulkier, instead of stylish and lack a "cool" factor.

I'm also super-sick of the direction JAGeX has taken in terms of listening to clientele. Simply put, they really aren't. They're all over stupid social media outlets and neglecting their own community. Advertising is lack-luster. And whereas in history, all the other communities had to all gather here, on RSOF, now JAGeX visits their hand-picked favorite sites sporadically.

The company as a whole has been running backwards for quite some time.
Go ahead, kill RS3 (THE REAL GAME) off, and OSRS will soon fall too.
I sure AF won't go backward in terms of playability and graphics to play that crap again.
I EVOLVED. And JAGeX as company, no matter who "owns" it, should also.

When you have a business that's successful, sure you can drive it into the mud, or you can steer it right so it's profitable indefinitely rather than short term by DOING A GOOD JOB and PRODUCING A GOOD PRODUCT.

Which the base-game still has. But lack of replayability, updating of old assets being wasted (think minigames), and lack of general enthusiasm has been not helpful in that pursuit.

It sounds negative, because it is. As a player who's been around since BETA RSC, I know WTF I'm talking about. I could've been a marketing major.

Points of Interest

1st: No new players are going to want to start a game that by "NORMAL" methods takes about 6-10 years or more to Max to gain access to higher level content, depending on time/effort being put in. (This has been decently balanced with BXPWeekends and Lamps/etc.) No need to tweak it more at this time.

2nd: Nobody wants a game that's just going to suddenly end and have no reason to replay. I've long had my own reasons for "replaying" content, even if just to farm GP to help clan mates, etc. I don't need PvP updates, nor crap like that. Let's face facts - the "Massive-Multiplayer" part of MMO was taken out by bad release planning and lack of forethought. Once max players complete content, they've no reason to go back to help newer players just reaching that content, thus why minigames/raids/etc are DEAD...

3rd: No old players are going to want to keep coming back just for shiny new items or outfits. They need something in terms of repeatability as well. A way to contribute by playing to help the rest of the game's community is an honorable and interesting objective I'm sure most would enjoy.

4th: Marketing. You can't get more players if you don't adequately advertise. And not just stupid promotions. The game itself has to be the center focus. You shouldn't have to bribe people to play it, if it's any good.

a lot of people bitching here........ if you don't like the offer, don't buy it, simple.

We're customers with feedback. It's not *that* simple.
Although we'd LIKE to support our favorite game and get something cool for it,
it's impossible or hard to justify doing so for various reasons we all have.

- Think about it more before defending a brand or product blindly.
You wouldn't drink coke if they made it taste exactly like Mt. Dew.
And you wouldn't just accept it if they did. And guess what else?
You still want Coke, but nobody's producing the product you once loved anymore.

Make more sense yet?

every year they break their promises and say "we could've done better we are sorry" then say they will do more polls and they do for the first couple months. then they go back to their old ways of deceiving the players so i definitely won't be buying premier club this year. and i have bought it every year before. I am sick and tired of false promises and constantly increasing prices just to give more mtx promotions. I've had enough, gg jagex.

I concur. Although I'm still on the fence for renewing via this method...

Is there any good reason to why players using the Euro are so much worse off compared to players using the dollar or the pound? I really hope there is a really good reason for this, because the way it looks now, people paying with euros are just getting ripped off.
This seems really, really, really unfair...

My guess is exchange rates, and overall monetary strength in terms of global currency. Check your markets! Real life stock exchanges are all for show, but they do sometimes indicate what the powers that be intend to do to fluctuate funds the world over...

Maybe JAGeX knows something we don't yet about global money matters?...
Also check to see anything about embargos or restricted trade between countries.
Politics is the worst for everyone, but some people still insist on playing that game 5,000 years later to present day and the foreseeable future.

I have a question about the price difference.

Capture from EU Regulation 2018/302 of 28 February 2018 that will set an end to unjustified geoblocking. The Regulation will start applying as of 3 December 2018.

That IS this year. It's not December 3rd, yet. But that's shifty sales. Maybe that's why it's being released in part before December this year even?

I know it's a crazy concept, but maybe if you catered more to the player the money would follow anyway. Can't be any more crazy than driving players to quit.. We have more players on OSRS... It's blatantly obvious that your newer updates, and rates, have been undesirable. People would rather play the older model game than the "updated" one..

Just so you realize, the OSRS model was much more susceptible to BOT attacks and DDOS. So be aware not all that inflated player count is actual players/legit accounts. IMO, most of the players that "quit" because of "EOC", did so because they could no longer cheat, mine, or farm the game and began creating private servers to siphon the capital JAGeX would've been getting since the old methods were no longer an option. But with huge overhead costs to do so, and legal ramification, they opted to return to OSRS because they could then again manipulate that game, rather than host it themselves and possibly be sued. JAGeX could also better monitor their own game, than allow off-service versions of it run.

Sure, maybe many people liked that version alot, but I assure you, it's not anywhere near 2 million accounts... Ever since I've played RS it's been 64,000 - 180,000 legitimate accounts online at any given time over a span of 15 years.
