I would just prefer a guide made by Jagex when new content gets released, as this player owned farm without any guide is nonsense. TY

you don't seem like fun at parties. That would be the biggest buzzkill for so many players, even if they could opt to not read it. Why would a developer spend their creative will building something fun, inteeresting and challenging....to then just turn around and release the meta and spoilers..I would hate my job.

jagex is not here to hold your hand and walk you through the game, loling at the very idea..

I am great fun at parties!! But wasting time finding stuff out when your time is limited is actually pretty stupid. I rather play the game then to try and find things out for months on end. That is where I pay the company money for, to play their game.

In the end it all comes down to the same old boring thing again "elitism". We can't have people actually unlock things before elitists got the chance to dance around in new outfits or show off new titles.... can we.

Wikia won't allow deletion of the content on the old wiki. That's worthy of a global block to them. No joke, it's dumb, but it's what they do!

LOL............... why is that dumb? You can't go around deleting stuff to which 100's maybe 1000's of people have contributed. The way you think about it already gives me bad vibes and makes me steer clear of this new Wiki as sounds toxic to me.

Hey,

I don't agree with Stinkowing's phrasing. The part about not being able to delete content (which isn't really ethical anyway) is true though. A lot of people have asked why we don't just redirect pages to the new wiki - that isn't possible because Wikia wouldn't allow it. And, let me be clear, we don't intend or want to vandalise the old wikis.

We're asking people who use the wikis to migrate over to the new site to continue receiving up-to-date information. All of our active editors and administrators have moved over, so the content on Wikia will become stale over time. I hope you understand the reasons behind this change, and don't let an outspoken editor cloud your judgement.

Just to clarify some complaints about "the Wikian" title, it is absolutely not a popularity contest, and it has nothing to do with sucking up to the admins.

Anybody who makes regular quality edits to the wiki is eligible for the title. You just have to post a request for it, and people (other community members, not just admins) will have a look at your edits and decide if you've earned it.

Reading the forum posts in the Wikian title thread makes me think different. Seems to me this wiki is ruled by a clan and looks after their clan mates. Heck, there is even talk of giving a clan leader the title, not because he did much for the Wiki, but because he has been in the clan for a long time.

What made me ROFL was below entry:

Original message details are unavailable.
Thanks Shauny for giving this opportunity <3 I think the title could be really good for raising our profile in the Runescape community -
right now no one knows who our regular editors are

LOL

right now no one knows who our regular editors are - that's maybe because nobody gives a fuck? ROFL.....

And then this:

Original message details are unavailable.
Okay this is Fyre this time. I definitely don't agree that it should be an 'ask and you shall receive' policy. This should be a prestigious title that should be earned. If it were an ask and you shall receive, then literally anyone could get the title. Every player could get the title. What would be the point in this? Then the title would be completely meaningless.

And

Original message details are unavailable.
Titles should hold a certain amount of prestige. Titles that hold no prestige are never used because they're common/not cool/etc. Although editing a wiki shouldn't be seen as an achievement or anything like that, I feel like opening the floodgates for every noob to have a wiki title will just devalue this kind gesture.

Elitism much???

LOL

I have been to the new site and sadly it sucks.
Hard to find anything and it is far from as complete as the "old" wiki.
They should take a look tip.it and have a bunch of there features on the wiki like the ability to compare items or even full costume outfits to find the best combo for your budget.
tip.it itself is slowly dying but I still use for it has much better calculators then the wiki does.
Like the option to calc how many logs you have to burn to get to lvl** or how many fish you still need to cook and bolts to fletch.
Works for just about any and all skills.
Tip.it could even grab you XP from the highscores on the Runescape webpage making it really useful.
Now we need to use third-party clients to get that kind of info.
The start is there but it could use a LOT more.

That's great. Thanks to Jagex for the support and thanks to all the players contributing information to the wiki.
Playing since March 2006!

Jagex had their own Wikis in the past too but most players still went to the offsite Fandom Wiki because search engines still guided them there.

AFAIK, everybody can still add to, but not delete any Runescape stuff from Fandom, so inevitably I see a familiar multiple Wikis situation happened in the past still exist going forward.

If the new Wiki is ad free, it is obviously a plus IMO. When I look for info of a game, I don't come to a website to watch 10 vids not related to the info I search for.

Anyway, while Wikis are helpful, I used them and intend to continue to use perhaps both the Fandom and the new Wikis just for references since most of the time they are not official Jagex info. And for guides and game features, I usually watch vids anway because a picture is always worth a thousand words.

1) If you take this back in house you need to update it directly when info comes out. Otherwise we won't bother using it if you are going to censor content and worst still it will drive people away from the game too. I cant simply be arsed to waste time on a game that makes me waste time where I could be having fun. Those who want to find out for themselves can opt to not read the wiki as stated by someone earlier. it is that simple and other games manage to release guides at the same time comes out because it is a no-brainer to do that so people can have fun with the game they paid for by knowing the criteria they can strategise around!

I was planning to quit my membership in December and not renew after the way the farm was released with no guide at the time of release, I'm certain i'm not the only one (as loads of people were moaning about it in game). Now I am reconsidering.

2) Seriously we all just had our titles removed so you can add the wikidiki title in? I don't care much about titles but the title's like Ravensworn and now this when i see them make me want to vomit at how much hero worship goes on of mods. Mods are like customer service people (or should be!) that we who are paying for the game pay the salary of! Why some of you people get so uppity about yourselves because a mod smiled at you i don't know but it makes me laugh at least!!
