I'll be honest, I'm not liking the new site.
Even after fiddling with the settings to make the layout less terrible, and switching to the "legacy" autocomplete system because none of the "advanced" autocompletes actually work, the new site is just overall an inferior option for general use.
I like the box with the skill icons on the main page, but I feel that it would be better if all of the skills were there and they linked to the relevant skill page, which is the same amount of clicks to get to the relevant skill guide since the current link just redirects to the skill training page, whereas the skill's mainpage also contains links to the F2P and P2P training pages.
On a lesser note, I really miss the runescape background on the sidebars. The colour from it did a good job of breaking up the huge void of blank space on the sides that dominate the new wiki's fixed layout, and seeing the first inch and a half of it at the top of the page doesn't really do the job.
The three things that I feel are holding back the new wiki the most are
1. The wiki not allowing fixed layout for people without an account, and disabling said layout when you are logged out. This is dumb. Everyone should have gone into this new wiki knowing the kind of layout is most familiar to the playerbase and is most convenient for players using it, either for alt-tabbing or side-by-side with the client.
2. The search bar being small and not autocompleting by default. The RS wiki has a lot of pages with longer names, like "Player-owned port/Captains and crew", and the default search not having a dropdown autocomplete menu is painful.
3. No home button or topbar links in the fixed layout. Without those two features, the layout feels anemic and lacking in many of the quicklinks that are used most often by players on the old wiki. The sidebar in the normal layout ostensibly serves the same purpose, but takes up more space in exchange for fewer features, making it objectively worse than the topbar.
