all the crying and whining and "ASSUMING"...............................

PATIENTS and Faith a quality that is hardly found anymore.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Community continues to do, what they been doing, even after Explanations and News. After all, we know "pleasing everyone" will never be done in rs or rl.
"Critics" and "know betters" will never go away.

But I can only hope that clarity will open some minds and hearts and own up to jumping the gun with assumptions or giving up. It's a personal choice I know. I will continue to have hope and Faith and Patients.

Thank you Runescape/Staff for all you try to do, I will stand behind you.

Let's get this out of the way first:
Even if to some of us it seems that Jagex is on life support, "patients" does not apply here. Patience might, however.

With that stated, now:
Patience and faith have been squandered over failed promise after failed promise, lackluster release after lackluster release, and ever-increasing push for microtransaction after microtransaction (which, I will note are not actually micro). I know i'm not the only one that believes, at the VERY least, the last three years have been unremarkable in the best scenario. So much so that Jagex had no choice but to address it.

I'm not out for blood, read through my replies previously on this topic if you think different. The majority here, though most aren't proficient at proclaiming it, are essentially saying that in no way imaginable do we see this price increase being justified in relation to the content that we've been reliably underwhelmed with for years now. All the "fixing" and push for ninja fixes that are finally happening are a culmination of literally near a decade of issues that have gone unaddressed.

Nobody has said that you can't be positive about the future of RS, but for many of us, the future is shaped by the past, and the past has been unremarkable for far too long.

I don't get why every 1 on here is complaining.

It said it ur a member and keep it, u will be paying regular price, which for me is only about 5$ per month...Been the same price since I been playing RS many many years ago. Yes, Sometimes I forget to extend it or my card gets messed up, but the 14-Days is enough to cover it.

I don't buy bonds or R.C anyways, so I don't have much say in that. It's not even needed for the average player to enjoy the game anyways, so I don't see the problem.

I could scream "greed" at this update, but I won't. I'll keep it short.

The updated members price seems to be competitive with some other MMO games, which is understandable. However, the development team for Runescape does not release enough content throughout the year to justify this new price. If you want to charge competitive prices, have a cash shop AND charge for your own economy addon then at least make it worth the money. If the company isn't making the profit it should be then make cuts to your team.

The RS team used to be more personal with community, and really made us feel like part of the family with their "Postbag from the Hedge". Now all we get is Dev videos that pretty much spoil all the content, and of course they stream them on twitch where you can "subscribe" for money there as well. Looking at the news posts, all I see is updates to the pay-to-win Treasure Hunter game and very little in the way of actual playable content.

As a veteran player, I am saddened to hear that prices will be rising and I personally do not see myself resubscribing or showing any support in the decisions being made within the past decade. Maybe I'm just getting old, but this game used to actually care about its subscribers more than the money it was making.

Grandfathered rate only applies to your existing accounts, for regular membership. So if you want to make a new alt, you have to make a new account -> you have to pay new membership price for it. And even if you look at your existing account only, if you should want to buy the premier club, it also ignores the grandfathered rates.

Grandfathered rates don't justify, fix, or make anything better. That's like the weakest excuse I've heard.

Besides, not everyone plays the game on a constant curve. And with how content is sometimes, it's hard to blame people who are on a hiatus, voluntary or not.

I just think after a very bad year of content 2017 being one of the worst i can remember, that they should justify as to how they think they have earned a pay increase.

From the list of stuff they are announcing as AMAZING SUMMER CONTENT its still all very "meh". I personally didn't vote highly for any of those topics other then the skillcape perks.

So for me one update isn't deserving of a pay raise IMO.

But this years content whether i have personally enjoyed it or not has been of good quality "Minus release bugs of course, and the jelly fish nerf -.-"

If this years content continues at the rate its going and quality i'm fine with a price increase. This month was the first not very interesting month as far as updates. not bad for 3/4 months being good.

I would of however preferred to see them raise prices as of January 2019. Once we could see how well they possibly did this year with content. Not asked us to have faith in their choices. At this point they need to earn that respect and faith back from the player base, it is not given for free anymore!.

That membership thing is complete bs. This isnt WoW. People chose your game back in the day because it was cheaper than most MMOS and you guys are trying to push for more money when in my opinions, its not even deserved. Theres no reason to change the price of anything except for the fact that you guys are money hungry, trying to turn this game in MTX heaven. Its Idc if it only applies to new people, thats just as bad. You people make enough money from this game, and now youre just trying to screw over the people. I have 4 membership accs and I buy VIP on 2 of them every year and this still pisses me off.

Honestly I don't see the big deal here. Extra $2 for a game I enjoy? Sure. I don't mind helping the studio, it isn't like EA where I have to spend $60, and then another $60 for like dlc and stuff. People complaining about cosmetics and stuff squeezing out money...you don't have to buy it. Idk the studio is getting bigger, they have other content going to come up, the are doing what they can. Plus the price of things to make games in the gaming industry goes up. So giving an extra $2 a month doesn't bother me. I wish it didn't bother so many others.
