my bad the drop was during 2015 though still in 2016 they got rid of 21 developers with still a net loss in employees in 2016 as they did hire a few more customer relations employees
Edit: either way my original point still stands about the actual likely reason jagex is hiking priced along with the point that #of employees is irrelevant to my main point.
also i still dont get why u keep claiming theres going to be a “25% employee increase”
jagex has not stated that to my knowledge in either this thread or the FAQ
I clearly stated in Page 43, Post 8 of this thread:
"Jagex is not alone among Cambridge technology companies in needing more staff but its numbers are quite striking.
The company currently employs 320 and anticipates growing that number to 400 this year.
“If I could wave my magic wand, I would add at least 100,” says Phi (Jagex CEO Manfred)l. “Realistically, in terms of the intake we could find and handle, we could probably add 70-80. And there’s more growth beyond that.

And you have replied to that post with the same quote several times on the following pages. It is obvious Jagex CEO Phil Mansell acknowledged the hiring of 70-80 or even more employees.
The latest Jagex News Discussion thread addressing the
"Price Rise & Summer Content"
also clearly stated the same reason:
"Also, for the past few months, we have been opening up a large number of positions to support the RuneScape team and mobile release."
In fact, Jagex never employed more than 400 employees since 2012-2013 when they staffed up for Transformer Universe under the ownership of IVP. IVP fired >36% of the total employees following the failure of TU. The headcount dropped to about 320 then Hongtou bought the company. They are now reinvesting in staffs rapidly again.
